Everything that happened at the Berlin Pri Minister’s Office was known to only the two people present. anwhile, Su Ming was peeking out of a manhole cover from a sewer sowhere in Paris to check out the street.
Everywhere was in chaos, with countless black leather boots, tal prosthetics, treads, and wheels moving back and forth in front of him.
He retreated back into the sewer.
"With this patrol density, did the Germans take the wrong dicine?"
Actually, this was just basic operations, as he had previously stirred up a big commotion, and quite a few French resistance fighters had joined in. Even if they couldn’t kill the German soldiers or blow up their supplies, they at least wanted to spit into the German Army’s wells.
That’s how the citizens of Paris thought, and that’s also what they did.
Now, half the city was involved in the riots, so what else could the German Army do? They could only deploy two hundred thousand troops into the city.
Not just the German Army, but the puppet governnt’s militias and police were also out on the streets.
Chaos and madness were everywhere.
If the Joker saw this situation, he would surely be happy, but in reality, the situation wasn’t favorable for Su Ming’s plan.
With everything in such disarray, who would co to see his performance? And how could he quickly notify Zemo?
After so thought, he decided to find Cable first. He had seen their squad engaging the German Army at the Eiffel Tower from the airship earlier; they should still be there now.
He jumped down from the shaft, the cloak allowing him to maneuver through the sewer, and he touched his chest.
"You say you now have a bit of self-awareness. Should I give you a na? How about... Little Black?"
The symbiote imdiately started to show signs of lting, as if it had gone limp. Su Ming guessed it didn’t like the na.
"Alright, then how about Little White? Little White is good, safe from injury, heatstroke, or overeating; it’s a very auspicious na."
The lting accelerated, revealing the Holy Statue Armor underneath.
The symbiote still didn’t like it.
Su Ming realized that, like other symbiotes, it preferred more formidable codenas, like Carnage, Thrash, and Extremis.
It seed the naming style of symbiotes was quite dark indeed.
"I’m most afraid of naming things." As Su Ming recalled the nas of the symbiotes from the future, he planned to give his symbiote the most extre na to satisfy it.
A faint thought erged in Su Ming’s mind for the first ti, clearly expressing the symbiote’s intention.
Su Ming felt a slight stir in his heart. This proved that the symbiote indeed had its own thoughts and was already considering personalized aspects like nas. Its intelligence was growing rapidly and might even surpass that of ordinary humans in the future.
Kama Taiji had always been researching symbiotes but never considered that these terrifying creatures should parasitize beings with high intelligence to be effective.
Like parasitizing humans, aliens, and the Divine Race. Yeti were far inferior.
It had nad itself ’Strangulation’, and it wanted this codena.
Su Ming didn’t mind. As long as the symbiote didn’t split spores or cause trouble, he maintained a laissez-faire attitude towards it.
Strangulation was a good na. As a semi-solid lifeform, a symbiote’s main predatory thod, besides biting with its mouth, was to strangle its enemies with its tentacles or body.
At least it was more fitting than the codena Venom, which had no actual venom...
"Okay, I thought my codena ’Deathstroke’ might inspire you to choose sothing like ’Grave Digger’ or ’Funeral’, or based on your actions, ’Spray and Pray’... But Strangulation... if you like it, that’s good."
Although they decided on the na Strangulation, Su Ming, in his leisure, played with the symbiote en route, much like keeping a pet, as Flight was entirely reliant on the Magic Floating Cloak.
The symbiote resud the appearance of the Captain Arica uniform, and Su Ming felt it tighten around him as if giving him a hug.
A pleasant notion appeared in Su Ming’s mind, feedback from Strangulation, rely a sense of joy.
It transmitted signals by adjusting chemical concentrations within, forming bioelectricity that traveled to the host’s spine. These signals were conducted through the nerves along the spinal cord into the brain, facilitating communication with Su Ming.
Frankly, it felt a bit eerie, akin to having a split personality, with the inner self conversing with the primary self.
However, Su Ming remained calm; such a situation was anticipated, and over ti, exchanges would beco more specific.
But those are matters for the future. At present, there are no unstable factors, and since Su Ming decided to allow the symbiote to parasitize, he prepared for all possible eventualities.
Strangulation’s thinking was very straightforward, akin to communicating with a pet dog or cat. It struggled to convey its anings clearly, and its combat instincts inclined it towards simple and direct solutions.
Evidently, cultivating it into a useful ally would require more ti.
While amusing himself with Strangulation, the Magic Floating Cloak dropped him on the ground, with a corner flapping to point to the side, indicating to climb up the ladder and rush over a short distance to reach the Eiffel Tower.
Su Ming patted the collar of the cloak, acknowledging its correctness: he had to run over and couldn’t fly openly. In his current guise as Captain Arica, flying might risk Zemo recognizing sothing amiss.
The Magic Floating Cloak shrunk to resemble a red hanky draped around Su Ming’s neck, which was more discreet. In France, it was quite trendy to tie a hanky around the neck; at least this way Zemo wouldn’t recognize the cloak.
Having gotten ready, Strangulation fixed the Godslayer-transford Shield to Su Ming’s arm. The Nightfall Greatsword, he had concealed safely in an underground tomb when departing from the guerrilla command post.
Thus, his only dependable weapons this ti were the Godslayer and his fists and kicks.
"Let’s go up and see what’s happening."
..........
Outside, for so unknown reason, Cable’s team was besieged on the tower, with German soldiers swarming towards them like a tide.
Fortunately, their position was quite advantageous; the German Army didn’t dare to bombard it, so nurous heavy weapons encircled without attacking, while military dogs and half-chanical warriors launched attacks.
There were three to forty of those bipedal robots dismantled by Su Ming earlier, fully sealing off all directions of the square. Hydra Tanks equipped with energy cannons were also evident here.
As for those pigeons he saw here during the day, they had long fled.
Cable’s team was currently positioned not at the top of the tower but halfway up on a platform; based on observation, they hadn’t suffered any losses yet, but it was predominantly Cable and Journey holding the line.
Cable blocked the staircase, using his gun with adjustable power settings to continually block and extend, whereas Journey, capable of Flight, handled aerial units and snipers in the outer periter.
The German snipers were indeed elite here, possessing optics very similar to Death Shooter’s, forcing Journey to continually deflect bullets with his dagger mid-air, making him seem like an insect caught in a spider web, restrained.
Su Ming found himself essentially at the center of an enemy swarm in a certain direction, calculated for a mont, then initiated his move.
