Su Ming didn’t bother to figure out Nick’s thoughts anymore; it’s still a long way before he becos the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. He’s not the King of Agents yet, and for a Black Man to be recognized, it’ll take at least a few decades.

And only after he goes completely bald.

Su Ming strolled through the Roaring Assault Team mbers. They were very wary of him; although they hadn’t t him before, they’d heard that Deathstroke interfered in Captain Arica’s experint, stole the serum, and kidnapped the Professor.

Whether he’s a friend or foe is hard to tell.

Su Ming did take a look at these people and found no one he knew: Baki wasn’t there, Dum Dum Bullet Dugan wasn’t there, Denier wasn’t there, and Jones wasn’t there.

These people all have distinctive characteristics; you’d recognize them if you saw them. Well, except for Captain Arica and Nick, this is just a cannon fodder squad.

In the pitch-black sewer, these people looked ragged, sowhat like holess hobos.

As for the French Guerrillas, they watched him with curious and fearful eyes under the flashlight’s glow, perhaps wanting to thank him but too weak in the knees to move.

The sewers were clogged with bodies, and this was just sothing the Armored Man accomplished in less than two minutes.

Su Ming ignored their reactions and went straight to Steve’s side, crouching down. He ruffled Steve’s hair; Captain Arica was still unconscious.

Peggy Carter was on the side, watching him warily, like a small cat guarding its food.

"It’s unexpected to see our English Rose down here in the sewers." Su Ming glanced at her hand gripping the gun and teased her as he looked at her face.

Peggy Carter only cared about Steve’s safety; she didn’t want to deal with Deathstroke at all.

"You should say that to Lorin Soldier. Ever since she saw you last ti, she’s been thinking about you constantly."

Yes, since then, ’Little Rose’ Lorin often consulted Peggy with questions, many tis indirectly asking how to kill a Super Soldier.

At first, Peggy thought Steve and Lorin were entangled, which saddened her greatly; she didn’t expect Steve to be that kind of person. But in the end, she understood that Lorin wanted to kill Deathstroke.

Peggy could only tell her that her wish was virtually impossible to accomplish. Even Captain Arica was thrown by Deathstroke; what could ordinary people like them do?

So, the two female agents often gathered to chat, with Deathstroke leaving a deep psychological shadow on Little Rose, making her feel like her charm was utterly ineffective.

Lorin had already withdrawn from the Field Agent lineup and honestly worked as a secretary at the base.

However, the topic of Super Soldiers brought Peggy and Lorin closer together, and they moved their dorms together, becoming like sisters.

Su Ming almost forgot about teasing Little Rose back then. It was just a playful mont for him, which he forgot afterwards. But now it seems a girl can’t get him out of her mind; maybe that’s not a good thing.

Peggy’s words must an Lorin still wanted to probe his true identity, then find ways to drag into their fight, right? There must be an SSR sche behind this. Do you think I would fall for such a basic honey trap?

You underestimate the Tactical Master from DC, the darkness I’ve seen is beyond your imagination... When does the honey trap arrive?

"Oh? That’s really an honor. Once I’m done with this job, I’ll visit your headquarters to see her."

Su Ming lifted Steve’s uniform and looked at the wounds on his abdon. Many of his internal organs were damaged; Steve would be unconscious for at least a day and unable to move freely for three days.

No matter what the Strategic Science Corps was planning, their mission was basically a failure.

Peggy opened her mouth, not knowing what to say, coming again? Last ti was already enough chaos; if it weren’t for you saving everyone’s lives just now, you’d definitely be treated as an enemy now.

After confirming that Steve’s life was safe, Su Ming briefly assessed the other people’s injuries. They all mostly needed dical aid.

"You’ve been shot?" Su Ming tipped his chin, indicating the gunshot wound on Peggy’s arm.

"What do you want to do?" Peggy slightly turned, giving him a righteous look. Last ti he teased Little Rose and ntioned looking for Agent Carter. Could it be...

Seeing her expression, Su Ming knew she misunderstood. How could he bully his nephew’s heart’s goddess?

"No other intention, just happened to be here, intending to help you guys." Su Ming stood up and greeted the surrounding guerrillas fluently in French, as Deathstroke put away his weapon, they seed to relax a lot and gathered around him. "Bonjour, bonjour."

Even though the voice was terrifying after being altered by the mask’s voice changer, it was still a gesture of goodwill.

The French didn’t care about the entanglents between Deathstroke and SSR; to them, Deathstroke was a lifesaver.

"Praise Saint Mary, thank you for your help."

A Frenchman approached boldly, patting Su Ming on the shoulder. He looked a bit haggard but still spoke loudly.

He had ssy facial hair, wore a blue flat cap, and the most common worker’s overalls with suspenders.

"No need to thank ; such a beautiful city as Paris shouldn’t fall into German hands. The citizens of Paris won’t agree, and neither will I. All the world’s resistors, unite!"

Su Ming could co up with such nonsense on the spot; he needed the intelligence from the Paris guerrillas and seized this opportunity.

"Yes, you’re right, the citizens of Paris will not succumb, and we will eventually drive out the invaders."

The leading bearded worker instantly got excited and promised Su Ming fervently, also clenching his fists and hamring them in the air in front of his chest.

The word "Paris citizens" is terrifying, as they are prone to revolution and to causing trouble. They’ve even executed a stack of Kings and Queens.

And they took pride in it.

"We will succeed; long live free will!" Su Ming shouted the slogan, and in an instant, the guerrilla mbers surged up, shaking hands with him enthusiastically, calling him a good friend.

These guerrillas were easy to fool; don’t ask any questions, just freedom of will as the answer.

Peggy looked sowhat numbly at Deathstroke continually shaking hands with people. He was like a presidential candidate holding a rally in his traditional stronghold, where everyone smiled and greeted him.

The Roaring Assault Team was also briefly at a loss, looking at each other. Weren’t the guerrillas supposed to be our allies? Why does it feel like they’re here to et up with Deathstroke?

And what’s up with Deathstroke’s French? Are you secretly French?

Nick Fury was the first to calm down, analyzing that Deathstroke currently held no animosity, only spoke in a way that irritated people. Otherwise, not only did he intervene in the rescue, but if he had just stood by quietly, this dozen or so of his people would surely have perished.

Nick looked at Deathstroke not far away, mingling shoulder-to-shoulder with the guerrilla mbers as Deathstroke led them in singing a haunting rendition of the Marseillaise...

That made Nick even more terrified; what kind of psychological insight is this? Instantly blending into the crowd, drawing in the guerrilla fighters, now they treated Deathstroke as one of their own.

The guerrillas had shown a business-like attitude when receiving them, joining the fight seed more passive, whereas now Deathstroke was genuinely welcod.

Having power ans you can do whatever you want?

If such a person were an enemy, it would be terrifying.

Nick motioned for the Roaring Assault Team to gather so weapons and ammunition from the corpses; he himself went over to Peggy and hoisted Steve onto his shoulder, still deep in thought.

Deathstroke couldn’t just appear in the Parisian sewers without reason. What is his goal?
