Chapter 52: Don’t Interfere in the Matters of the Lu Family

Xiang Xiaoyuan smiled tactfully. “Don’t say that. I didn’t co to visit you just for this shop. I’ve been here for a long ti and haven’t visited any of my neighbours. I’ll take this opportunity to get to know everyone.”

She paused for a mont, embarrassed, she tucked her long hair behind her ears. “Actually, it’s quite an impulsive decision to open a shop. I don’t know if I can do it well. You know Old Lu as well. He doesn’t take what I do seriously. He thinks that I’ll get tired of it soon. I don’t want to admit defeat, so I want to show him what I can do.”

Old Lu?!

Wei Zihang’s mind was filled with these words. Ever since he heard Xiang Xiaoyuan address him as Old Lu, he had the shocked expression of being struck by lightning as he followed Xiang Xiaoyuan to deliver all the gifts.

At this ti, the sun had already set. On the way ho, Wei Zihang finally accepted Xiang Xiaoyuan’s address of Lu Wanggui as ‘Old Lu’. He had a carefree personality and rarely bothered himself with one thing for a long ti. Xiang Xiaoyuan was not as difficult to get along with as he had imagined. After an afternoon of hard work, he thought that he was very familiar with Xiang Xiaoyuan.

“Aunty, don’t worry. I’m a man of my word. When your convenience store opens, I’ll definitely bring people to support you.” Wei zihang patted his chest and promised, “I guarantee that it will be lively on the first day of your opening. There will be an endless stream of custors.”

The corners of Xiang Xiaoyuan’s mouth curled up slightly. “Okay, then I’ll take it seriously. If you bring few people on the opening day…”

She didn’t say the rest of her words, which could be considered a silent threat.

Wei Zihang didn’t care. “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely keep my word!”

Xiang Xiaoyuan glanced at him. This was probably the sincerity of a young man. Because he was young, he didn’t need to think deeply before he spoke, and he promised to do so as soon as he opened his mouth. At the sa ti, because he was young, he could go through fire and water for the girl he loved. Thinking of Wei Zihang’s ending in the novel, Xiang Xiaoyuan softened her tone. “You’ve been hanging around today, is it for An Yu?”

Wei Zihang’s face was full of shock. “How did you know?”

He did not say anything about An Yu.

Xiang Xiaoyuan pondered for a mont and pretended to be mysterious. “Because older won are observant. I can see through you with just one glance.”

Wei Zihang gasped. He did not know if he believed it or not, but Xiang Xiaoyuan did not care whether he believed it or not. She continued, “I won’t tell Lu Bei’s father what An Yu said.”

Wei Zihang heaved a sigh of relief, then he heard her say, “But I cannot guarantee that he will not know. Just like what I told An Yu, I cannot guarantee that Lu Bei’s father will not find out about the recording.” Xiang Xiaoyuan’s tone was serious. “At the sa ti, I also hope that you can tell An Yu that before she becos a mber of the Lu family, she should not try to interfere in the matters of the Lu family. She should not use the excuse of being good to others to do sothing that would embarrass herself and others.”

Wei Zihang’s head buzzed, inexplicably regretting his involvent in this incident. However, he could not bear to see An Yu not eating or sleeping well because of this.

“Aunty, don’t worry. I will tell An Yu. She was indeed drunk last ti. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have said those words to you. She has no ill intentions toward you.”

“No ill intentions, but there is hostility.”

Xiang Xiaoyuan smiled. “She’s afraid that I’ll take away sothing that belongs to Lu Bei. In her heart, I’m an outsider and a plunderer. “She knows what’s in her heart and that she went overboard with her words that day. That’s why she’s afraid that I’ll tell Lu Bei’s father. That’s why she asked you to act as a middleman to diate the situation.”

Wei Zihang was speechless.

It couldn’t be denied that everything Xiang Xiaoyuan said was right. Not only An Yu, even he himself felt that Xiang Xiaoyuan would take away everything that belonged to Lu Bei. However, he wouldn’t interfere in the matters of the Lu family like An Yu did.

He silently followed beside Xiang Xiaoyuan. Neither of them noticed that there was a car slowly driving behind them.

In the back seat, Lu Wanggui closed his eyes to rest. Suddenly, he heard the driver say in a low voice, “Sir, Madam is in front.”

He opened his eyes and looked ahead. The sun was setting. The warm rays of the sun shone on the man and woman walking in front, like a painting. The man was tall and his every move was full of vitality. The woman was petite, and when she turned her head to talk to the man, one could see her curved brows and eyes. Her side profile looked stunning.

The scene was extrely pleasing to the eye.

Wei Zihang wanted to defend An Yu, but he had little argunt. He thought for a long ti, but he could not co up with a reasonable explanation.

Xiang Xiaoyuan did not tell him the truth to make him feel conflicted. Just as she was about to comfort him, she caught a glimpse of a car coming from behind from the corner of her eye. The license plate looked very familiar.
