281 Over-Thinking

“No!”

“No!”

Both of them rejected the idea simultaneously.

Shen Yin had not expected Lian Jing to speak up too. She thought that he would want another child.

Perhaps he did not want to marry her, which was why he did not want another burden?

Lian Jing looked up at her, pursed his lips, and said calmly, “Nian Nian is enough. There’s no need for a girl.”

Lian ng blinked and asked in confusion, “Brother, don’t you like girls? Then you can have another boy! I really like children. Let Sister-in-law have one. I’ll help you take care of it. You won’t have to worry.”

Lian Jing frowned impatiently. “If you want a child, go ahead and have one yourself. Put the Guanyin away. We don’t need it now.”

He had not had enough alone ti with Shen Yin. Why would he want a child to disturb them?

Moreover, having a child was not easy. Shen Yin had already suffered once in the past. Nian Nian was enough.

Since Lian Jing had said so, Lian ng did not dare to say anything else.

At that mont, the butler brought Shen Nian back. They imdiately changed the subject.

The nanny tactfully walked over and put away the Guanyin statue. She stood there discreetly and said a smile, “The food is ready. You can go to the dining room to eat.”

Old Master Lian called Shen Nian over to his side. He smiled and patted Lian ng’s shoulder as he introduced her to him. “This is your Auntie. Do you still rember her?”

“I rember!” Shen Nian nodded politely at Lian ng and called her “Aunt” in his childish voice.

Lian ng’s heart lted at his cuteness. She quickly took out another gift that she had prepared for him and squatted down to coax him with a smile. “I’ll stay at ho from now on and I won’t leave again. Tell what you want. I’ll buy you anything!”

“Thank you, Aunt,” Shen Nian replied politely. Then, he blinked and looked at his pale mother. He asked in confusion, “Is Mom feeling unwell?”

“No.” Shen Yin gathered her wits and shook her head. “Let’s go eat first. The food will be cold soon.”

“Okay!” The last ti she was back, she was in such a hurry that she did not have ti to celebrate her return before her brother had chased her overseas. This ti, she would make sure he made it up to her.

The others left the living room in succession, but Shen Yin was still rooted to the spot.

Lian Jing walked over and looked at her disappointed expression. He asked in amusent, “Why are you unhappy? Is it because of ng ng’s gift?”

Shen Yin shook her head. She did not want to tell him her true thoughts, so she turned around and followed them into the cafeteria.

However, she had underestimated Lian Jing’s seriousness. He grabbed her arm and refused to let go. He stared straight at her. “If it’s not because of the gift, then it’s because I refused to have another child just now?”

Shen Yin looked up and glared at him, denying it. “No, I didn’t want to have another child anyway.”

Lian Jing pinched the tip of her cold nose in amusent. This girl probably did not know how aggrieved she looked. Why was she overrreacting just because he refused to have another child?

Sighing softly, Lian Jing grabbed her shoulders helplessly. Staring into her eyes, he asked seriously, “Tell the truth. Do you want another child?”

He had already rejected the idea, why ask her now!

Shen Yin was furious. She pushed his hands away from her shoulders and said, “No, no! Alright, I’m going to eat!”

Lian Jing could not help but laugh. He reached out and pulled her into his arms. He coaxed her helplessly in a low voice, “Why are you throwing a tantrum again? How did I provoke you? Can you just tell ?”

Shen Yin suddenly stopped struggling. She raised her eyes and stared at him without blinking, as if she wanted to see into his heart. She desperately wanted to know what this man was thinking.

“Why are you staring at like that?” Lian Jing frowned and carefully thought over what he had said. He did not find anything wrong with what he had said and he imdiately raised his eyebrows in understanding. “Are you overthinking? Is that why you’re angry?”

Shen Yin would never admit that she had been overthinking. She glared at him and said fiercely, “I already said no! I’m not angry!”

Lian Jing pursed his lips and chuckled.

Why was she still insisting that she was not angry? Look at how she gritted her teeth, and glared at him.

Lian Jing’s lively brain went into overdrive He kept considering what Shen Yin might be thinking aout. After letting his imagination run wild for a while, he suddenly thought of sothing. He raised his eyebrows and asked, “Did you think that I don’t want to have another child because I don’t want to marry you?”

Shen Yin was slightly stunned, and her eyes lost focus for a mont.

So he knew…

So he had deliberately refused to make a committnt to her. He knew what she was thinking, but he refused to do it.

Disappointnt had just surfaced in her eyes when two warm lips pressed against her slightly pouted lips. Shen Yin eyes widened and she stared blankly into the man’s smiling eyes. The two of them struggled for awhile, but she finally lost because her eyes hurt.
