180 Lost Contact
Lian ng stared blankly at the phone in her hand. She knew that sothing had gone wrong.
She had been overseas for a long ti and most of the girls she interacted with were very bold. If they received such a provocative call, they would probably scold the caller without hesitation.
She thought that Shen Yin would be like this too. When the ti ca, she would explain that she was only Lian Jing’s sister and that she was not in a relationship with him. That would definitely bring her closer to Shen Yin!
But she had not expected Shen Yin to cut ties with her brother so decisively!
She hurriedly called back to explain. But Shen Yin had blocked her number! No matter how many tis she called, the notification kept saying that the other party could not be connected for the ti being.
Lian ng was dumbfounded. She had not thought that a mont of mischief would cause such trouble for her brother!
She walked to the stairs guiltily and carefully glanced at Lian Jing, who was working downstairs, oblivious to everything. She was so nervous that her heart was pounding.
She was standing there with a guilty expression, wondering if she should confess when Lian Jing’s cold eyes suddenly glanced over. “In trouble?”
Lian ng’s shuddered. Looking at her brother’s increasingly dark expression, she denied it without thinking, “No, what trouble can I cause in the house? Brother, you’ve too low an opinion of !”
Lian Jing snorted coldly. He knew his sister well. Her grandfather had utterly spoiled her since she was young and she was reckless. She only wore such a horrified expression when she was in deep trouble that she could not resolve herself.
He looked away, too lazy to deal with her. After all, she was no longer a child. She had to learn to handle her own affairs. She could not co running to him for help every ti.
When Lian ng saw that her brother had so easily given up on questioning her, she heaved a sigh of relief. However, before she could catch her breath, she suddenly heard her brother ask from downstairs, “How long do girls usually date before they want to get married?”
Lian ng was so frightened that she almost dropped her phone down the stairs. She wanted to tell her brother not to think about proposing. Perhaps by the ti you get back to China, she might have already found soone else!
However, she did not have the guts to say that. After thinking for a while, she smiled foolishly and said, “Girls definitely want to get to know the other party better before they think of getting married! After all, marriage is a big deal! Brother, you have to be careful. You can’t let her think that you don’t value your relationship!”
Lian Jing lowered his head in deep thought and continued to look at the docunt. He did not speak for a long ti.
Lian ng’s back prickled with cold sweat. She no longer dared to stand there like a statue. She ran back to her room as if fleeing for her life. She was afraid that if her brother found out that Shen Yin had blocked him, she would be the first to suffer.
The next day, when Lian ng and Lian Jing were in the car, Lian ng still looked like a mouse that had seen a cat. She fidgeted as if she was sitting on a carpet of needles.
Lian Jing glanced at her in disdain. “Sit still. Why are you moving around?”
Lian ng coughed dryly and smiled ingratiatingly. “Brother, I’m your dearest sister, right?”
Lian Jing glared at her and did not say anything. He waited to see what she wanted.
When he did not reply, Lian ng was forced to steel herself and continue speaking, as if to herself. “If I did anything wrong, you definitely wouldn’t be so heartless as to continue keeping in exile overseas, right?”
“That depends on what has happened.” Lian Jing’s cold gaze made Lian ng tremble.
She shut her mouth and thought that since her brother could not return to China within the next few days, she might as well wait until he had decided to bring her ho before confessing what she had done.
Lian Jing looked at her suspiciously when she suddenly shut her mouth and sat further away from him. He narrowed his eyes dangerously. “Did you cause trouble for ?”
Lian ng felt a chill go down her spine. She shivered as if she had touched a live wire. Then, she turned around with a smile. “No, no. What trouble could I cause you? I’ve been working diligently by your side…”
Lian Jing looked away and closed his eyes. “I hope so.”
He had not slept at all last night and had spent the entire night dealing with two days worth of work. Right now, he missed Shen Yin very much. Unfortunately, he still had a eting to attend, so he could only wait until he was done with work tonight before he could give Shen Yin a call. He wondered if that heartless little thing was missing him.
Thinking of the food she had personally cooked for him before he left, Lian Jing felt that no matter how much overti he worked in the past few days, it was worth it.
He really wanted to rush back to China to see Shen Yin, but he did not know if she missed him as much as he missed her.
All day, Lian Jing savored the bittersweet feeling of being in love. It was only when he called Shen Yin dozens of tis that night and no one picked up, that the sweetness faded to be replaced by an unquenchable anger.
Lian Jing was no longer in the mood to look at the complicated docunts. He called the butler.
The butler stamred for a long ti. Unable to withstand Lian Jing’s interrogation, he said shakily, “Miss Shen didn’t bring Young Master ho yesterday.”
