"NOOOO!!" Drake shouted dramatically. "That’s his rock-sense!!"
"Not a real sense, Drake," Alina sighed.
"IS TOO!" Drake argued, making Rocky blink in confusion.
"Alright, alright." Alina tapped the board again, still smiling. "Tongue helps us to taste!"
"TONGUE HELPS US TO TASTEEE!" they repeated.
Felix smiled cunningly, leaning on his hand. "Teacher, my tongue only likes expensive food. Does that make special?"
"No," Alina said flatly, but her lips twitched.
"Teacher!!" Drake waved both hands. "My tongue only tastes sweet and crunchy things! That ans I can’t taste vegetables, right??"
"No, sweetheart," Alina chuckled. "That just ans you don’t want to taste vegetables."
"See??" Drake said proudly, as if he had won an argunt with science itself.
Finally, Alina tapped the last word. "Skin helps us to feel!" she sang.
"SKIN HELPS US TO FEELLL!" the babies repeated.
Luna raised her hand and said seriously, "Teacher, I can feel when Drake is annoying."
Everyone burst out laughing—even Lucien cracked a small smile.
Drake pouted. "That’s not fair!!"
Boo imdiately threw himself on the floor, rolling dramatically. "Teacher!! Boo’s skin feels gossip everywhere!!"
Alina shook her head helplessly, giggling despite herself. "No, Boo. That’s not a sense. That’s just you being Boo."
The class collapsed into laughter again, and Alina smiled warmly, tapping the board once more. "Alright, Class D... now you know your five super senses!"
"Yesss!!" all the babies chorused back, their voices bouncing off the walls.
Alina smiled, tapping the board again. "Alright, eyes are for...? Anyone who knows, raise your hand!"
Drake shot up so fast he nearly climbed onto his desk, waving both arms like he was about to take off. "eeeee!!!"
Alina chuckled, pointing at him. "Yes, Drake?"
"Eyes are for... looking at snacks before anyone else eats them!!" he declared proudly.
The class burst into giggles.
"Drake, sweetheart, no," Alina corrected, still laughing. "Eyes are for seeing."
Drake crossed his arms, pouting. "Sa thing. I see snacks."
Before she could answer, Boo floated upside down and shouted, "Teacher!! Boo’s eyes are for spying gossip!!"
Alina gave him a look. "Boo... eyes are not for gossip."
"Yes, they are!!" Boo insisted, spinning in the air. "If I didn’t have eyes, how could I watch the principal talk to his mirror twin??"
Alina rubbed her forehead, trying not to laugh. "That is not what I ant."
Luna raised her hand seriously. "Eyes are for glaring at Drake when he’s annoying." She imdiately turned and gave Drake a sharp glare to demonstrate.
Drake gasped. "Teacher! See?! She’s weaponizing her eyes!!"
Lucien spoke up softly, his crimson eyes calm. "Eyes are for... seeing the world."
"Perfect," Alina said warmly, giving him a smile. Lucien ducked his head, ears faintly red.
"Teacher!!" Felix raised his hand lazily. "Can I say... eyes are for rolling when soone says sothing dumb?" He imdiately rolled his eyes dramatically, making Vlad Jr. grin.
"Technically... that’s still seeing," Alina admitted with a laugh.
Rocky shyly raised his hand. "Eyes... are for finding shiny pebbles."
"That works too, sweetheart," Alina chuckled.
Kelpie grinned and shouted, "Eyes are for seeing water!!"
"And fish!!" Rocky added quickly, and both nodded at each other like they had discovered science.
Finally, Sable whispered so softly Alina had to crouch to hear him. "Eyes are for... seeing friends."
Her heart lted. "Yes, sweetheart. That’s the best answer of all."
"And nose is for...??" Alina asked in her sing-song voice, tapping the board again.
"Nose is for slling!!" Luna shouted proudly before anyone else could answer, puffing her cheeks like she had just won a contest.
"Very good, Luna," Alina praised, smiling.
But of course, the others had to add their own logic.
Drake slamd his desk with his palm. "Teacher!! Nose is for sniffing snacks hiding in secret places!! My nose is super powerful!!" He flared his nostrils dramatically, making Boo shriek with laughter.
"Teacher, teacher!!" Boo waved both hands. "Nose is for sneezing on people so they scream!!" He imdiately did a fake aaachoo! and flipped upside down like he’d been blown away by his own sneeze. The babies exploded into giggles.
"Boo, that is not the purpose of a nose," Alina said, trying to stay serious while her lips twitched.
Vlad Jr. spoke coolly from his desk. "Nose is for slling blood."
"Vlad Jr.!" Alina gasped, covering her face with her hand as the others erupted into a mix of "eww!" and laughter.
Felix leaned back with a smug smirk. "Nose is for ignoring bad slls. Like when my dad cooks."
Lucien’s voice was quiet, but steady. "...Nose is for recognizing people. My dad says he knows when I’m around by my scent." His ears went faintly red, and Alina’s heart ward at the honest little confession.
Rocky raised his hand timidly. "...Nose is for slling... warm rocks after rain?"
Alina’s heart lted. "That’s right, sweetheart."
And Kelpie waved his arm wildly. "Nose is for slling water!!"
"Exactly," Alina said warmly, nodding at him.
"NOOO!" Drake shouted suddenly, pointing dramatically at his friend. "That’s MY sense!! Snacks!! Snacks are stronger than water!!"
Alina quickly clapped her hands before they could start bickering. "Alright, alright, calm down. Everyone’s noses are important. They help us sll all things, not just snacks or water or rocks!"
"Or gossip!!" Boo added loudly, puffing his cheeks. "Boo’s nose slls gossip in the air!!"
The class collapsed into laughter again, and Alina just sighed, shaking her head. "This class... is going to drive crazy."
"And tasting is for...??" Alina asked, tapping the board again with her chalk.
"Eating at!!" Luna shouted imdiately, her little fangs flashing.
Alina pressed her lips together. "Not just at, sweetheart. Tasting is for knowing the flavor of food."
Drake raised his hand so wildly he nearly knocked his desk over. "Teacher!! Tasting is for knowing which snack is bigger and better!!" He leaned forward, eyes sparkling. "If I lick Luna’s cookie, it becos mine, right??"
"WHAT?!" Luna screeched, hugging her desk. "You dare, dragon!!" She snapped her teeth at him, and the class erupted into laughter.
Alina sighed, trying not to laugh. "Drake, you are not allowed to lick other people’s snacks. Ever."
Boo spun in the air and clutched his ghostly tummy. "Tasting is for knowing when the food is stolen from kitchen!!"
Alina blinked. "Boo... do you an you steal from the kitchen?"
