The nightti hunt got Euri another batch of ingredients for the ambrosia pool.
Combined with the deposit he had used earlier in the evening, a total of 4 units of ambrosia was produced and consud in the span of two hours. His in-ga profile was refreshed accordingly.

The sensation of newfound power pulsing underneath his skin was addicting. Until his body adjusted to the sudden enhancent, it felt like he was a monstrous being from epics, and everywhere his eyes could reach, he only saw weaknesses, fragility, and inferiority.
He wanted to vent. He needed so channel to release the boiling, bubbling impulses.
So Euri spent nearly an hour exercising in a rigorous routine. The neighbors heard the familiar noise of stone slabs being tossed around and sandbags getting hit by enough power to leave dents in a human body.
If soone else were making such a racket at this hour of the night, everyone would co out of their hos with sticks and pans to teach them a lesson. But they’d seen Euri exercise during the day, and as a result, everyone had unanimously decided to ignore him even if it caused so minor inconveniences.
The waves of encouragent and admiration they had displayed in the beginning had quickly transford into fear.
Not only was his growth rate unscientific, his current display of strength and speed was quite clearly a sign of superhuman potential. The perceptive residents of the neighborhood were spreading the word already.
For the last couple of days, the number of people who were watching him work out had increased, but most of them did so in secret, through the gaps in closed windows and ventilators on their walls. To Euri, this was a sign that he needed to find other exercise spots.
At the end of the session tonight, he still didn’t feel very tired. The upgrade this ti must have made a qualitative change in his stamina. Returning ho, he mused to himself for a while about so alternatives.
"The rating of 1.5 points isn’t too far away now. I could try to spar with Nadir Bloodfly to test the waters..."
It didn’t matter much to him whether he won or lost. Unlike regular superhumans, he didn’t have a reputation to gain or so extraordinary goal in life to climb to.
Besides, his strength would keep increasing as long as he had access to the ga. It was like a side quest to him.
"For now, there are other options to test myself to peak satisfaction," he muttered while picking up the envelope Bennet had handed him in the morning.
Had his parents been in the house, he’d be worried about going out at night, leaving those two drug-addled idiots exposed to certain dangers of the slums after dark. So right now was the perfect opportunity to take care of this matter.
Just after dead midnight, Red Tarp Slum welcod in a newcor. To be frank, ’welcod’ wasn’t the appropriate word, considering that three denizens of the slum had tried to rob him so far.
They could probably tell that he was an outsider, but they failed to foresee the thrashing he gave them. Euri made sure they’d not be robbing anybody anyti soon. There was no guilt in serving the interests of the public!
In fact, he was so eager to face more of such encounters that he went out of his way to act like a vulnerable fool bumbling his way through the narrow, dirty lanes of the slum.
"Hello, big brothers! I am looking for a relative of mine who lives in this spot on the map. Can you help with the directions?"
"Oh hey there, bros! Excuse for interrupting the ga, but can you tell how I can go to this area here?"
"Sisters, you look like decent people! Can you help get to this house that’s supposed to be four crossings ahead?"
Maybe it had sothing to do with his bright-eyed enthusiasm, because none of the suspicious-looking folks he approached as a delicious prey tried to harm him.
Euri saw the temptations in so of them, gazes burning with the intent to hunt, greedy for a quick cash grab. But nobody acted upon it, much to his disappointnt.
He who steals habitually will avoid your kind offerings—rembering the ancient proverb, he could only sigh in defeat.
His first target, nad Kiffs, lived alone on the second floor of a very old, abandoned building.
Euri had assud that it’d be a little difficult to avoid attracting unwanted attention while dealing with this guy, but as it turned out, the entire building was unoccupied except for Kiff’s room in one corner of the upper floor.
Silently walking up to his doorstep, Euri knocked six tis in a row and said, "Deface yourself, my brother in eternity!"
According to Bennet’s intel, this code would make any mber of the Faceless Cult loosen up their guard, and treat the speaker as a cult-brother. They were obliged to treat each other to the best of their abilities and offer assistance in tis of danger.
About ten seconds after he had announced his presence, Kiffs spoke from the other side of the door in a smooth tone. "I stand defaced. How may I be of help, my brother in eternity?"
Formal and cautious; not as welcoming as Euri hoped he would be. Tch~
"I am injured, brother. I need a bed and so assistance in dealing with the wound!" he said, straining his voice.
"...Alright." Kiffs’ reluctance was very much audible, but he still opened the door and flashed a torch on Euri’s masked face.
"No one will be coming to look for you soon, hopefully. I can’t afford to move through the city for a good while. The police have a fresh case on ."
"Oh, don’t you worry about that," Euri replied honestly. "I wouldn’t have co here if I thought anyone could find us right now. You’ll surely appreciate how quickly I take my leave!"
The older man’s brows furrowed at his odd wording. But he did stand aside to let Euri enter.
Once he shut the door and bolted it with a tal slider, Euri took off the mask. Even under the dim electric light, Kiffs seed to have a flash of recognition.
"...You look—"
Thump.
Not much else was spoken in that room, not by a coherent mind, at least.
