Hikari took in the small amount of information and chuckled. "Is what you say really true. If I was truly the existence that encompassed everything, why would I take this form?"
The fairy goddess nodded. "I once asked you the sa question, but you told that a lot of despair cos with being formless. You joined mortals, so you can share in their Hope. Haven't you wondered why your magic cos in two colors?"
Mortia leaned forward and tapped on the golden designs along Hikari's staff. "One of your colors is light. Bright white or golden light, and your other color is purple. The void of Despair."
Hikari's eyes widened. Things started clicking together. She always wondered why so of her magic had been purple. When she summoned Kurayami, the girl ca from a purple ray of light, and when she cast the light spell that killed a goddess, it was primarily white. Yet, she rembered there was a mix of colors. A sliver of purple painted the vibrant spell.
The elf looked to her dragon. "Did you know about all of this?"
Kurayami sighed and looked towards the floor. "I didn't think that Master would really forget everything. Even if I could tell you, I didn't know what to say."
Hikari shook her head and patted the dragon. "Don't worry. I think you did the right thing." The elf looked back to Mortia. "It seems like you and I had so promise?"
The goddess nodded. "Now, I'm completely free of that promise. It was a promise that I'd not reveal anything unless you sought out on your own." She looked towards Senjo. "Of course, she was also bound by this."
Senjo scratched her head awkwardly. "Though, I almost revealed everything, and then the entire promise would have been for nothing."
"I just don't understand why I would go through so much trouble. What's the point of forgetting things? Is there any reason for it?"
Mortia bobbed her head up and down. "If you had kept going the way you were, you would fall into Despair. If such a thing were to happen, everything would co to an end. You told that you needed to forget."
Hikari sighed, deciding to change gears. "What about this world is so special anyway? Why did everything happen here. The ga world is also based off this place."
"That one is relatively simple to answer. You can think about this place as the origin. It's the seed that everything sprouted from. You kept many of your subordinates on [Gensuba], and the physical version of your domain is housed here."
An understanding ca to Hikari's mind. The way she'd gotten to [Gensuba] in the first place was through the true version of her Hope domain. She'd traveled to that endless plain, and then she rendered herself in the physical version. Another thought crept up into her mind—one that she hadn't considered. If I have a Hope domain, then do I also have a Despair domain?
The elf looked towards her dragon. "Before I summoned you, where exactly did you co from? Where were you staying?"
"It's just as you thought, Master. I guarded the gate between Hope and Despair. There is a point where both of them connect, and that is sothing like a gate. The dead flow towards that place."
Hikari rembered that Saber cat she killed when she first arrived in the other world. She rembered killing it, and the thing rushed towards her, flowing into her inventory. Everything she killed after that would have a similar effect. They all flowed into her, including the goddess she killed. So they all arrived at the place between Hope and Despair?
The elf recalled the sensation of looking through items in her inventory, and she found the list where all of the dead creatures had gone. Sure enough, she found the dead Saber, using a magic that served like a search function.
Though now, it had transitioned into a different item. Before it was a spirit, but it beca a [Seed of Hope]. The only distinction was the description. Otherwise, it would have been impossible for Hikari to know that it was the Saber.
Millions of these seeds appeared in her inventory in this location. She looked at all of them and shook her head. There was still too much she didn't understand. She finally found the goddess she killed—Edith. She too had transitioned into a [Seed of Hope].
The elf decided not to do anything with any of the seeds for now. Though, she finally understood where things go when they die. Even the demon she'd killed had beco a [Seed of Hope].
There was a small compulsion to tell the people around her about the seeds, but her mind vehently rejected this idea. It was as if telling them would violate so law of the universe. If she really pushed it, she'd be able to tell them, but doing so might bring about an even greater disaster.
The elf sighed. "I think I have a rough understanding of things, but it's hard to believe. I don't understand what benefit I gained by having a mother and father on Earth. Why did I need those mories?"
Mortia raised an eyebrow towards the elf. "Is such a thing really true? Were you born to biological parents?"
Hikari thought back in her mind to her life on Earth. Though, there was no real mory of biological parents. She rembered being taken in by the woman who ran the ga store, but she had no idea where she really ca from. "Everyone had biological parents, so I always assud I was the sa."
Mortia shook her head. "I don't think that was the case. Though it did take a while to find you, I didn't see anyone who could be your biological parents on Earth."
Hikari rembered sothing Mortia had sad earlier. "Wait, you said you were a player too, and you were different. How did the ga on Earth co to be?"
"That one is really simple to answer. I invented the ga." The fairy smiled at the surprised looks from Syndra and Hikari. "Don't look so shocked. You really think a mortal over there could replicate this place perfectly? If you think about it, it's not really a ga in the first place."
"What do you an?"
"I an that it's another version of [Gensuba]. You rember how I said I can control the Veil? This ability allows to connect worlds. All I had to do was connect Earth to another version of [Gensuba]. Once that was done, creating avatars was easy. I just needed to call upon help from the other gods inside of the council. Your avatar was the hardest to create. We couldn't make anything that had the potential to beco your true power."
Hikari's mouth flopped open like a fish. She finally understood one of the biggest mysteries that plagued her. The reason she'd transford from a strong player to a goddess. Her form in the ga wasn't her true form. She'd been upgraded from a high level player to a goddess, and that's why her stat sheet seed so strange to her.
However, there was sothing else that Mortia said. Sothing that Hikari has been dying to know about. "You ntioned the council of gods, but where is this place located? Who are these gods?"
Mortia smiled. "You've already t a few of the gods. Though, it's a real sha that one of them had to end in tragedy. If you want, I can take you to where they et. However, don't think that they'll be as open to talking with you as ."
"Why not?"
"Fear. No one is willing to trust an existence that sits above them. I believe this fear is what led to our current predicant." The fairy placed a finger on her chin. "As I said before, I can take you there, and I can ask for a eting."
"I will trust you," Hikari said.
The fairy girl smiled and produced a white staff. "This place is in the heart of the veil. It might not be suitable for mortals…"
Hikari looked towards Syndra and Ayase. With a wave of her hand, she cast a golden bubble shield on them. It was the sa one she'd given when the group had to dive to the bottom of the ocean to et the rmaids.
"Now, they should be fine."
Mortia sighed. "I will trust your judgnt, but consider the consequences of your actions. If the chaos faction chooses to, then they could hold these mortals as your weakness."
"Don't worry, Master," Kurayami said, "if anyone touches them, they will face eternal Despair."
Kurayami's words made Hikari rember the clock angel, and more pieces started clicking into place. That demon had been given a taste of the eternal Despair. Hikari cleared her mind, focusing on the current mont.
"It's as my beloved dragon says. With this warning, I doubt there would be anyone foolish enough to try it."
Mortia tapped her white staff against the ground, and the fairies surrounding the group began buzzing around like a hive of bees. The fairy goddess's magic wrapped around everyone in the room, and Hikari let it take over her body.
"[The Veil's Heart]," Moria said, and the universe disappeared.
