A bustling city alongside the coast of Nexus that lay in the southern part.

A little far away from the coast was a huge island with a wide territory that ford the core of Nexus Academy. A true piece of treasure land with a high density of mana that boosted a person’s growth.

At the coast, there was a checkpoint for Academy students, and it was a place where all those who were going to the academy had to report.

The premise of entering the Academy was simple.

You needed to form a mana core by the ti the Academy entrance started. A group of staff would then go around testing the candidates that would submit the form.

Previously, the task was quite arduous as it was difficult to reach and communicate with common people, which many didn’t know about, but with the advent of the modern age and communication, many processes have been simplified.

Before the entrance ceremony, everyone’s rank would be determined.

So, a group of students gathered in the hall of the building affiliated with Nexus.

There were various test sites, and the current one was site number 6.

Children of various groups and statuses tussled their way into the crowd, waiting for the command.

At that ti, a frizzy black-haired woman and a man with wide forearms showcasing bulging veins appeared.

"Ahem!"

"Hello, my na is Aesa, and this man standing here is Professor Austin."

Austin nodded and stood there maintaining a stoic expression, to which Aesa couldn’t help but shake her head and take the lead.

"Everyone, before we begin, I would like to welco you and congratulate you for reaching this far. Just by stepping here, you can already consider yourself as elite. This world has never been peaceful or on your terms. For us, peace has never been an option with the looming threat of Wraths and dinsional breakouts loitering like swords on our heads."

"Each one of you will play an instrunta—"

KRANG!

Her speech was interrupted by a banging sound as the wall of the hall was blasted open, and a man stumbled on the entryway.

Everyone spotted a short purple-haired young boy huffing and puffing with a disheveled appearance. The clothes he wore were luxurious or noble, but the person himself wasn’t.

"Wait, isn’t he that guy?"

"That’s trash..."

"Shut up... Do you want to die? No matter what he is, we aren’t qualified to say that. Do you want your family to die?"

The boy raised his head, then scratched it and spoke with a cheeky smile.

"I... I thought the door was shut since everyone had gathered, so I barged in forcefully, but who knew it was open?"

Everyone’s lips twitched hearing this.

Is this so kind of movie?

"And as for why I am late, I am innocent. My train was attacked and I was hijacked. Fortunately, I ran away, so if you have any problem, go and bla the securities who can’t do one damn job properly."

The mont they heard this, everyone shut up.

Aesa swallowed her saliva, unable to think what to say. After all, she knew the identity of the boy, but what startled her was Austin casting a subtle smirk as if he was excited.

’Now, what’s going on with this bastard?’

.....

Interrupted, Aesa finished her speech with a few more words. She wasn’t in the mood because she knew trouble was coming. After all, if this guy was speaking the truth, things were more troubleso than they looked.

So Aesa and Austin left to report to the officials. There were plenty of people to handle the tests.

Every candidate had to undergo a test that would decide their rankings.

They were called one by one, and by the ti Noel’s turn ca, he had recovered a little.

He had been flying the whole night and had been physically and ntally exhausted, still, he couldn’t let this go.

Rank 1... here we go...

........

I walked into the test site with a daunting gaze. Spotting several people eyeing like a test dummy stifled . I knew what they were curious about; anwhile, I was excited to satisfy their curiosity.

The woman paused, staring at .

"Miss, I know I am one of the sexiest n alive, but don’t be this obvious!"

"What..?" the woman scread and lowered her head with a blush.

"I didn’t an that. I am just curious why you are here taking the test. Shouldn’t you have a Nova recomndation letter?"

My expression fell a bit hearing this.

"Ohh! That... I ignored it because I wanted to secure first rank from the beginning and give others a headache."

The woman blinked hearing this.

"Just for this!"

"Yes!" I nodded.

There were two ways to enter.

One was to enter through recomndations and another one through these small tests.

But if you enter through recomndations, you won’t be ranked. You either need to challenge from the bottom or wait until the end of the first month, where a battle royal will take place to achieve first rank, but I wanted it now.

Also those use letters will appear after the first month of the opening test.

"So, Miss, if I have satisfied your curiosity, can we begin?"

"Yeah... Yeah... Of course."

First, I was led to a huge orb.

I placed my hands on it. It was mana and started observing the orb that recorded data.

"Place your hands on the orb and release your mana," a lady with glasses spoke.

"Hmm," I followed the notion.

The orb was stimulated by the influx of mana, and soon the slate connected to it shimred.

Core: Iron

Physical: 43

ntal: 37

Spiritual: 28

’Isn’t this one provided by the church? Where are my sub-stats?’

Noel tilted his head seeing this and turned around to ask, only to see the woman’s widened eyes.

"Hello... Miss..." I called her, but she seed to have frozen, so I nudged her a bit.

"Kyaaa!"

"How is this possible? Is sothing wrong with the machine?" The woman hissed in disbelief.

"Why isn’t it possible?" I asked ruefully.

"I an... you have an Iron core, so your stats should be around 10, but all your stats are quite high. Also, your ntality and spirituality are quite high, which..."

"It’s impossible, right?" I cast an evilish smile, making the spec beauty shocked.

"I didn’t have an aptitude for mana, so how is this possible, right?"

"Yes, I was about..." The woman paused as she felt a sharp decrease in temperature.

She spotted the boy eyeing her coldly, which for so reason scared her.

"I apologize..."

"I stand in a realm beyond what you can comprehend." I spoke, blowing my hair with a flick, making the lady look at as if she was looking at a clown.

"So, why are there no sub-stats?"

"That’s because we are just having a rough asure, and taking note of all data is a breach of privacy. Now, you can head over to the next place." Saying this, she imdiately pushed out and shouted,

"Next!"

With twitching lips, I moved to the next chamber.

"Hmm!"

"She is just shy and embarrassed, unable to stand before my presence."

...

Then I was led to the next room.

A staff mber put two bracelets on my wrists.

The mana flowing in my body suddenly stopped circulating. Without saying anything, I stepped ahead and was greeted by an entirely white room.

At the side, there was a woman taking notes, and behind her was a weapon stand with all types of weapons.

"Cadet, please co here and choose your weapon. In this test, you will be fighting against an Orc, and defeating it will determine your rank."

"However, in this fight your mana will be locked, and you have to rely solely on your physical prowess."
