“What exactly does it an to be at the vanguard of exploration?”

In any organization, incompetent bosses tend to give vague orders and then tell their subordinates to figure out the rest on their own.

Because the orders are unclear, they leave their subordinates in a contradictory situation where they can’t do this or that.

If things go well, the boss takes credit; if things go wrong, the bla falls on the incompetence of the subordinates.

I don’t want to be like that, so I need to give very detailed instructions.

At the very least, I want to ensure that if sothing goes wrong, no one can bla the instructions I gave.

“Your job will be to gather all the information related to the mission, learn and organize the local language and culture,” I explained.

The British Empire, which is famous for its ability to colonize, still faced difficulties because of a lack of understanding and information about the local cultures.

Minor problems early in the conquest can be forgiven, but the use of pig or beef fat to make the paper that covered cartridges, which triggered the Sepoy Rebellion, was truly an ignorant mistake.

As a result, the British East India Company, which essentially acted as the Indian governnt, nearly collapsed because of such an error.

History exists to help us avoid repeating these foolish mistakes.

As soone with a Master’s degree in Western history, I can’t afford to make such a mistake.

“Are you talking about the culture of the heathens?”

“Yes. It may seem trivial, but it’s very important. For example…”

There are people here who were once followers of Mahabadism and later converted for various reasons.

I should use them as an example to explain.

“Although rare, so heathens sotis repent and convert to Deus’ faith, right? After their conversion, they often avoid eating pork. Do you know why?”

“I’m not sure.”

“It’s because the heathens, the Mahabadists, believe pork is an impure food. It’s the sa idea as in the Old Testant.”

Islam and Judaism consider pigs to be unclean animals and forbid eating them.

When people first heard this, it must have been hard to understand why they couldn’t eat delicious and affordable pork.

But when you understand the reasoning, it becos clear.

Wild pigs are relatively clean compared to other wild animals, but dosticated pigs have the habit of rolling around in mud or dirt to lower their body temperature.

This habit causes parasites to accumulate on their bodies, making them dirty, and compared to chicken, pigs are also less efficient, as they don’t provide anything beyond at like cows or sheep.

This belief keeps the lower classes from touching them, ensuring that resources are used more efficiently.

“Even after converting, they can’t abandon their old customs.”

“Fiat, the people you’ll be preaching to are those kinds of people. And if you look at the early history of Deus’ faith, didn’t they also make compromises to convince the heathens?”

In any Deus church, you’ll find an icon or religious painting hanging sowhere.

Normally, they shouldn’t have created such things, but the people they were preaching to couldn’t survive without such symbols.

So, they compromised and created icons and religious images.

“That’s true.”

“The people in the western part of Ifriqiya, especially, place great importance on their ancestors.”

When I last visited the Maasai Confederation, they held a morial service once a week...

Even though it was called a morial service, since the people they were honoring had passed long ago, it wasn’t a gloomy atmosphere like a funeral.

The mass was just 10 minutes long, and afterward, they gathered around a bonfire and partied together.

“So, the missionaries sent to Ifriqiya, specifically those in the Maasai Confederation, hold a prayer and mass for their ancestors once a week.”

When Fiat heard that I had already sent a missionary, he couldn’t hide his surprise.

“Have you already sent missionaries?”

“Yes, I’ve already established colonies in Sayfriqiya. To be honest, this stock issuance is part of the plan.”

If stock and auditing had existed, I would have certainly been arrested.

Under strict laws, I would have been sentenced to death by beheading.

But the Toscanian Empire doesn’t have any proper business laws or managent ethics.

“As long as you don’t offend the higher-ups and don’t embezzle others’ money, everything else can be forgiven.”

What a great world for business!

“The problem, however, is that right now all we’re doing is missionary work. We haven’t been able to gather any information about the language, culture, and the way things are done in Ifriqiya. Without that, it will be a bit difficult to bring the area under my control.”

Understanding the culture, language, and history is incredibly important.

Hernán Cortés, who conquered the Aztecs, is a pri example.

To put it simply, he was like a crazy character from a South Arican isekai novel, wreaking havoc on the local civilization.

After conquering the Aztec Empire, he imdiately set out to understand their culture.

He wasn’t trying to pursue multiculturalism like I am.

Instead, he planted Catholicism in their land, attempting to unify South Arica and Spain under one culture and religion.

“That’s true.”

“The people in the western part of Ifriqiya, where you’ll be going, place great importance on their ancestors.”

When I last visited the Maasai Confederation, they would hold a weekly morial service...

Even though it wasn’t somber like a funeral, it was more of a community gathering.

“So, the missionary we sent to Ifriqiya is holding weekly prayers and masses for their ancestors.”

When I told him that a missionary had already been sent, Fiat showed an expression of surprise.

“Have they already started missionary work?”

“Yes, I’ve already established colonies in Sayfriqiya. This stock issuance is part of the bigger plan.”

If there were stock regulations and auditing laws, I’d have been arrested.

Under strict laws, I would have been sentenced to death by beheading.

But in the Toscanian Empire, there are no such business laws or ethics.

“As long as you don’t offend the high-ranking officials and don’t embezzle money, everything else can be forgiven.”

What a wonderful world for business!

“The issue is that we’re only doing missionary work right now. We haven’t gathered any information about the languages, cultures, and the specifics of life in Ifriqiya. Without this, it’ll be difficult to bring the region under my control.”
