In the hidden chamber beneath Santa Roberto. Ashe and George had constructed this room specially for secret matters just like this.
Roland, Hendy, and Rea stood around the circle. Siderius stood in front of Ashe while she stayed in the middle of an Alchemical Seal drawn on the ground.
Ashe placed her hands on the seal, channeling the rcury of the seal into the pair of Crow eyeballs on the ground.
rcury climbed onto the eyeballs and transford them.
Ashe let out a huge breath as she finished preparing the mutation. Siderius stepped forward and gave Ashe an entirely new surgical knife.
George and Finn had forged this new knife for her just because of a grafting mutation.
"Whenever you’re ready, my apprentice." Siderius said.
Roland clenched his hands tight together. Henry observed everything closely while Rea was holding her breath.
The Transformation Seal was the easiest in the grafting process. The hard part was the pain.
Ashe grabbed the knife.
"In vivunt Vagus, et Perditus, et Voluntas Aeterna." Ashe recited the creed of the witch hunter.
’Within live the Wanderer, the Cursed, and the Eternal Will.’
She grabbed her eyelids with one hand, the other precisely poked two holes on each of her eyeballs.
Ashe scread in pain imdiately. But she held it back. She groaned and gasped. Her body bent forward.
The girl grabbed the two rcury balls and shoved them into her eyeballs.
The mutation fused with her eyes. They covered the wound and transford her eyes.
Ashe breathed heavily and continued to tremble for minutes.
Alas, she opened her eyes. A dark pair of eyes similar to Siderius’ Nocturnal Ocula before.
Her breath cald down and the mutation settled in.
Siderius kneeled down to the ditating position. Ashe also switched to sitting on her knees.
"There are many Psychosis Techniques to deal with the beast psyche.
There is the fast way with a lot of side effects.
There is the average way with trade-offs.
There is the slowest way with minimal consequences.
Which one do you want?"
"The slowest way, Master." Ashe said.
Siderius nodded. "As expected of you.
I will give you three slow techniques you can use.
Nine Rings. The slowest but also the safest.
Glass Mind. A little bit faster but it will make you jaded and your emotions lowest.
Circle Reincarnation. The fastest in the slow group but there’s a chance you may fall into a forever coma.
Which one do you want?"
"I want Nine Rings, Master."
Siderius smiled, "As expected of you. Repeat after .
By touch and taste, by scent and sound.
No chaos placed, on hallowed ground."
"By touch and taste, by scent and sound.
No chaos placed, on hallowed ground."
Ashe copied Siderius’ hands as they perford the sign sequence of the Ring of Sense together. The rest couldn’t feel the change inside Ashe’s mind but they could sense the aura flooding out of her.
The dense animalistic feel was hidden away and a faint ring of gold was visibly briefly in between Ashe’s hands.
Once they finished, the ring disappeared. Ashe opened her dark eyes and looked at Siderius.
"Congratulations, apprentice. You are now officially a Witch Hunter."
Ashe bowed to Siderius. "I am grateful for the power you gave , Master."
Siderius stood up and brought over a wooden box. He placed it in front of Ashe.
", George, and Finn had forged this sword for you. It will be your companion for a while."
Ashe opened the wooden box. Inside was a long gray sword with a serrated edge.
"This is..."
"Shrieking Swallow. It is made from Dull Steel. It should be more durable than most of the tal out there. It isn’t as sharp but that serrated edge should give you quite an advantage over other weapons.
And also. I have infused this with the power of an elent."
Ashe picked up the sword gently and walked over to a wooden dummy Siderius had prepared.
"Try to turn on the switch at the guard." Siderius said.
Ashe flipped over a tiny switch at the handguard of the Shrieking Swallow.
The sword scread as air flooded out of the serrated edge.
This was made from Soul Steel as well. But instead of fusing it with the power of fire, it was infused with the power of Air.
The Air pushed out from the serrated spikes, making the sword much more dangerous than it actually was.
"It really sounds like a bird shrieking." Roland mumbled.
Ashe looked at Siderius. The hunter gestured to her to go ahead.
Ashe swung the sword at the wooden dummy. The edge bit into the wooden surface like shark teeth and tore a large chunk of it away.
"This is incredible, Master."
Siderius nodded. He then turned toward the rest of the group.
"You will also walk her path.
I will teach you the sa way that I taught her. In the future, you must help each other and guide each other on the lonely path of our destiny.
We will begin practicing Alchemy tomorrow."
"Yes, Master!"
The trio bowed deeply.
With Ashe becoming a Witch Hunter, she finally could be of use to Siderius. Her usefulness wouldn’t be apparent for now, but the more powerful she got, the sharper his knife would be.
In the war of the witches in the future, she would be a prominent figure.
That night, Siderius called Ashe alone to his office.
"You called for , Master?"
Siderius nodded. He gave her a pendant made out of silver and a book that he wrote himself.
"Now you need to walk your own path, kid. Training alone is not enough to beco stronger. You also need experience. You will need to make developnt Tonic and find your own mutations.
It will be a difficult journey. For now, I suggest you only operate in the North.
This notebook here contains the potential potions you will need and the details of the monster you need to look out for.
Go and find your own path, Ashe. When you finish Oculus Extima, co back to Santa Roberto."
Ashe nodded and grabbed the pendant and notebook.
"I have made quite a few potions and left it in Tanya’s Herbalist House. You can co over there and pick them up before your journey."
Ashe walked over to Siderius and hugged him. He froze in surprise.
"Thank you, Master. I will miss you every night on my journey."
Siderius opened up to her and hugged her back. Hug as a father to his child, not any other way around.
"Best of luck, my apprentice."
