Soone was stupid enough to disturb him.

Deep within the night, Siderius heard a small creak outside of his door.

His eyes shot open and he slowly got up from the bed.

"Well. Here we go. Can’t even have a peaceful night."

Siderius stood in front of the door. He did not remove any single piece of equipnt and was still fully-equipped. The hunter stood there with his hand placed on the handle of Blazing Soul.

A small wire slipped through the crack of the door and hooked itself to the small bolt. With a click, the bolt was slid open.

Siderius stepped forward and kicked the door open. The thieves behind the doors fell on their back.

There were two thieves. Amateurs that didn’t even cover their faces.

"You?!" The first thief shouted.

Siderius pulled out Blazing Soul and slamd the tip into the neck of the thief. It broke his neck imdiately and he fell to his death.

The second thief turned his back and tried his best to get up. Siderius stepped on his back, pushing him down. He bashed the thick sword onto the guy’s head, crushing his brain like a pumpkin.

A waitress in the opposite hallway saw everything. She scread at the top of her lungs.

The bartender ran up as quickly as he could. His face lost all of the colors when he saw the two lifeless bodies on the floor.

"You!" The bartender approached the thieves and checked on them.

One was unrecognized with his splattered head. However, the bartender was able to recognize the first one.

"These are Harbor Boys. What have you done?!" The bartender scread in despair.

"I only kill those who dared to cross ."

"They only want to rob you, not kill you! Can’t you just beat them up and let them go? The Harbor Boys are going to be pissed now! I can’t handle their rage!

You need to leave now!"

Siderius pointed his sword at the bartender. "You should have known by now that I am not soone you wish to cross.

I paid for my benefits. I expect them to be fulfilled.

If you deny of what I am owed or cause harm to my horse, believe . There is no need for a street gang to kill you.

I’ll do it myself!"

The bartender raised his hands high, trying to look as innocent as possible. "Please don’t hurt ! I just don’t want to get in trouble!"

"Not my problem. You accepted the coins. You fulfill your part of the deal."

"I can give you back your coins! All of it!"

Siderius smirked. He sheathed his sword. "I don’t want refunds. I want a place to sleep."

"You don’t understand. The Harbor Boys have a lot of n. They will not let this go."

"Let them co. Tell them to et if need be."

Siderius went inside and shut his door. "Pesky thieves. Don’t you even know how to pick your targets?"

Siderius drew a line of salt in front of the door and created a simple crystallization seal. This would block other people from going in unless he allowed it.

[SALT -5]

[SALT EXTRACTION: 195/200]

With that, Siderius lay down once again on the bed and slept.

No one disturbed him this ti and the Salt Seal remained intact. He slept through the morning.

Siderius’ eyelids fluttered before his eyes slowly opened up. A good night’s rest was good for the soul.

[PSYCHOSIS -1]

[PSYCHOSIS LEVEL: 50/150]

"It has been awhile since psychosis reduces naturally through sleep." Siderius comnted.

With denser and more active psychosis, the effect of sleep was minimal. Siderius must have lowered it down enough yesterday for the sleep to do its trick.

Inside Siderius’ dark mind space, a second gold ring slapped onto the panther’s neck.

It also had another ring on its belly, the Ring of Sense. The one that just materialized was the Ring of Urge.

"This mutation actually required more than two rings, huh? Unexpected."

Usually for the first minor level of Extima, the Ocula, also known as Eye Mutation, it required only two Rings to vanquish the beast’s psyche.

However, that was only the case for normal mutation, which took from ordinary beasts. Siderius’ mutations were from other beings, so that might be the reason.

Siderius looked over to the door. The Salt Seal was still lit as last night, no one ca through the door.

He then knelt down on the floor, into his usual ditation position.

"It’s ti for the third Ring. Ring of Instinct."

Siderius clasped his hands together and began the sign sequence.

Ring of Instinct had four signs, corresponding to four lines of incantation.

The first sign, Instinct Rise, had the index finger of the left hand raised above the head. While the index finger of the right hand pointed to the ground.

"When instinct rises, I stand."

The second sign, Instinct Pull, had the left thumb pointed at the chest while the right thumb pointed outward.

"When instinct pulls, I stay."

The third sign, Instinct Whisper, had the index fingers and middle fingers stacked on top of each other while the palms pointed outward.

"When instinct whispers, I see."

The last sign, Instinct Blind, had the thumb, index, and middle fingers curled while the left hand pointed up and the right hand pointed down. The ring fingers touched the other hand’s pinkies.

"When instinct blinds, I sense."

Four symbols lit up in Siderius’ dark mind space. A new sphere of spiritual energy ford outside the projection of the panther’s psyche.

Siderius continued to ditate for two hours. No amount of psychosis was lowered this ti.

He stood up and dusted his knees. Siderius approached the window and whistled.

Nothing happened for a few minutes until Lycan ran from another rooftop to his. It jumped onto Siderius’ shoulder.

"How’s Red?"

The wolverine nodded and made an expression. Siderius had stayed with it for quite a while so he knew what it’s trying to say. Red was fine.

"Alright. I need to go sowhere today. You want to stay with Red or?"

Lycan lay down on Siderius’ shoulder. It made its answer clear.

"Alright then. Let’s go."

Siderius walked down to the pub below. People imdiately gave him stares. But when he looked back at them, they all avoided his gaze.

The hunter approached the bartender.

"Haven’t got the chance to learn your na?" Siderius said.

"Thomas." The bartender looked at him in disdain but he quickly hid it.

"I need to know where the dock shipnt is, Thomas?" Siderius said.

"Out the door, go right twice and then left."

"Much appreciated."

Siderius left the premises of the tavern.

"That is one tall lad, Thomas." A patron of the tavern said.

"I heard he killed two of the Harbor Boys, is that true?"

"Why did you let him stay, Thomas?"

Thomas sighed. "Can’t ss with him. He is not easy to deal with. I just hope that when they’re fighting, they will leave my tavern alone."
