"I’ve been putting up with you for a long ti, buzzing around like a fly all day."

"You, just you wait, soone will co to rescue soon. You can stay here and drown! Xiao Wen, I’ll take you away in a mont!" Weiwei covered her face and wept bitterly.

Just then, a shark fin erged from the dark water, rapidly swimming towards them.

"Look, what’s that?"

"My God, is that a shark?"

Those hoping for rescue waited anxiously, eating red earthworms if they got too hungry.

The rooftop was crowded with people who had co to eat and the staff. At this shout, everyone’s attention was drawn, and they began discussing the object that had suddenly appeared.

A young person started recording a video with their phone: "In the second hour of being trapped at Ai Family Supermarket, sothing that looks like a shark charged at us. It was so fast, so cool! Wait, it’s not a shark, look, there’s a light on it."

"My God, it’s a speedboat!"

The shark arrived at the supermarket rooftop in the blink of an eye. The roaring motor noise completely alerted everyone, making them realize that this was actually a speedboat!

The crowd was abuzz with excitent in no ti.

"Is it the police? Are they coming to rescue us?"

"Are you dumb? Why would the police bring a shark here? Besides, how many people can such a small boat save?"

"What are we going to do then? The water is rising so much. If it keeps up, it’s going to flood over here soon. Are all of us really going to drown here?"

"BOO HOO... I don’t want to die."

Jing Shu spotted Jinglai, wearing a rain hat and raincoat amidst a group of bald people, and headed straight to her. Jing Shu was still controlling the Shark Submarine, continuously moving forward to stay in position amidst the roaring motors.

Jing Shu opened the window, braving the wind, rain, and red earthworms, and shouted, "Aunt, are you alright?"

"Jing Shu? How did you get here with all this water? I’m fine, thankfully I had the stuff you gave !" Jinglai also said excitedly. She had been ready to swim back if the rescue didn’t co after a while.

But the water was too fast and too fierce. Falling in ant being washed away.

"Hurry up and get on. I didn’t dare tell Grandma about the flood or that you were trapped here; she would have cried her eyes out," Jing Shu shouted. The wind and rain were so strong they had to shout to make themselves heard.

So it turned out this speedboat was just here to pick soone up!

Weiwei’s eyes widened in disbelief as she watched Jinglai, tears streaming down her face. This was the niece Jinglai had talked about. During this mont of danger, it was her niece who drove the speedboat to rescue her. Why was she so fortunate?

Just then, the surrounding people who watched with eager eyes began to plead pitifully, "Save us, please!"

"Save , I don’t want to die yet."

The young person aid their phone at the Shark Submarine. "This Shark Submarine is really cool, and it’s driven by a girl. Too bad she’s just here to pick up a relative. We might all have to die here..."

After the excitent, Jinglai was faced with a difficult choice. As a supermarket manager, she couldn’t just leave. "Jing Shu, let’s think of a way to save so of these people?"

Jing Shu frowned and shouted, "Isn’t the Second Team of police stationed nearby? Why hasn’t anyone co to rescue us?"

Jinglai also shouted, "When the flood ca, they had to evacuate the residents of the oil community first, because the buildings there are short and the old houses are easily collapsible, and there are old people and children. They told us to hold on since the supermarket building is taller, but it looks like the supermarket can’t hold on much longer either."

Fortunately, the Ai Family Supermarket has three stories above it, or it would have been flooded already.

Forgive Jing Shu for not having the consciousness to save others, because in her previous life she didn’t have the ability to even take care of herself.

In this life, Jing Shu felt that within her ability, she could save others, and beyond her ability, everyone would have to fend for themselves.

Jing Shu shouted, "Wait a mont, everyone quiet down, I’m going to call Officer Li Yuetian to ask when he can co to the rescue!"

The previously noisy crowd suddenly quieted down. Although they didn’t expect the small boat to save many people, this person knew an officer, who might be able to call for rescue.

The young person continued to record with their phone: "It seems there’s a turning point in the situation. This girl knows soone and looks to be calling for rescue."

BRRING... BRRING...

"Hello? Jing Shu? What is it? Speak! Don’t start with saving people, half of the oil community residents are still evacuating, it will take at least two hours. There’s a bunch of people at Ai Family Supermarket waiting to be evacuated, and we simply don’t have enough life jackets and boats! We’re short on both supplies and manpower!"

Li Yuetian’s irritable voice ca through from the other end of the phone. If it weren’t for the fact that Jing Shu had given him a kilogram of soybeans, he wouldn’t have even answered the call.

Li Yuetian felt he was royally screwed. This was going to be a disaster! He cursed his rotten luck; the entire Wu City was fine, except for the oil community within the jurisdiction of his Second Team, which was the first to be hit by the flood.

The location of the oil community was like a natural inlet for the river. The floodwater ca through there before flowing toward the city.

At least Wu City Center had an hour to evacuate, but the oil community was directly inundated, without any ti to retreat.

This ti, he feared many would die, and his career would likely co to an end. If he saved the people in the oil community, those in the supermarket couldn’t be saved. Conversely, if he saved those in the supermarket, the people in the oil community would be wiped out.

Jing Shu squinted. It seed Li Yuetian was genuinely unable to spare any resources to save the people in the supermarket right now.

And with the city center also being flooded, millions were evacuating. The governnt had to urgently arrange accommodations and simply couldn’t spare the resources for rescue.

Considering the current floodwater volu, in less than an hour, the top floor of the supermarket would be subrged, and the thousands of people here would likely perish.

In her past life, Jing Shu didn’t know how many had died at Ai Family Supermarket. The news hadn’t reported it, and basically, those reported missing were later presud dead.

People around carefully watched Jing Shu; everyone seed to freeze.

The young person holding their phone to record could only catch what Jing Shu was saying. He heard the girl say, "Officer Li, I just want to know where the nearest ergency shelter in the Developnt Zone is. I’ll take care of evacuating this bunch of people from the supermarket."

"Alright, I got it. Then you arrange for soone to et us there."

Most people heard what Jing Shu said. In the noisy storm, communication was entirely by shouting, yet the atmosphere remained eerily quiet. Nobody knew what this girl ant by saying she would rescue them, nor how she could manage with just her Shark Submarine, which couldn’t carry many people.

After hanging up the phone, Jing Shu showed a determined expression. Even though she had beco accustod to death, she couldn’t ignore these lives. If she could save them with a simple action and without revealing any of her secrets, she would.

"From now on, we have to move quickly..."
