Katrina could sense the uniqueness of those clerics, and if those clerics faced her directly, they would undoubtedly notice sothing special about her as well. This made her very uneasy; she wasn’t clear about what changes had occurred in the world. The enhancent of a witch’s powers was supposed to be a good thing.
But the problem was, it wasn’t just the witches who were enhanced; others were too.
Eileena’s necromantic skills now allowed her to find those Undead more easily, even without the need for any spellcasting materials. The Undead that were found also had a hard ti affecting her, and instead, she could dominate them.
However, Eileena hadn’t dared to try too much. After all, this was a city, and the church wielded considerable influence locally. If she experinted too much and word got out, a group of church knights and clerics might kick down her door the next day.
Now that Zheng Yichen had returned, they had a backbone.
"To what extent can your magic go now?" Zheng Yichen asked the two witches.
"To levels that were once unimaginable," Eileena said sowhat emotionally, "We’ll demonstrate after we leave the city."
She also went to pack her belongings. Her research data was stored on the computer, so she didn’t need to pack much, but personal items still needed to be sorted out. When they left the city, they encountered no obstacles; the guards simply reminded them to be careful on their outing.
Zheng Yichen and his companions didn’t bring many belongings; it wasn’t like they were moving. The guards naturally didn’t think much of it. Frankly, it was Zheng Yichen’s recent reputation that had helped them—the Hunter-Demon who had been completing tasks nearly every day, sweeping away the Black Darkness creatures in the vicinity. How could there be any problems with the people around such a person...
On the carriage, Katrina traced a magic array formation with her finger, which shimred faintly with fluorescence. The Sword of Hell Zheng Yichen carried stirred slightly.
Eileena held a ball of the Undead in her hand, which she had searched for nearby. This Undead, drawn by the necromantic skill, rambled on about the cause of its death.
"What about you? You were already so powerful, now what?" Alina released the Undead spirit and then turned to Zheng Yichen.
"Against the Headless Knight I t before, I could shatter him with one hand, provided that the Headless Knight had no enhancents," Zheng Yichen briefly described his physical state and then took out a pile of items, including the teeth of werewolves, the teeth, and claws of Night Devils.
The array of items stirred Katrina’s emotions deeply; the nurous trophies indicated that the journey hadn’t been easy for Zheng Yichen.
"John and the others are dead too."
"Death is the destiny of a Hunter-Demon. Do you want to try summoning their spirits?" Eileena asked. "If I go to where they died, I can give it a try."
"That’s possible?" With Eileena’s suggestion, Zheng Yichen’s interest was piqued, and he imdiately changed their route. The place where John had died was already out of the danger zone; going there would only delay them a bit.
On the way, they inevitably encountered many Extraordinary creatures, which caused Katrina so worry, "The numbers of Black Darkness creatures are increasing. What’s happening exactly..."
Zheng Yichen remained silent, the culprit standing right beside them.
At the site of John’s death, no remains could be found, only so decrepit Crossbow Arrows, which had started to decay due to exposure to wind and sun.
"It’s here."
Eileena nodded her head, took out the materials she had prepared along the way, and scattered them on the ground. Necromancy now required hardly any materials, but with them, the skill was much easier to perform. The materials on the ground produced a faint mist.
This ti, the mist wasn’t primarily for illusion. It gathered on its own and condensed into a ghostly human shape that slowly opened its eyes. John looked at the young man in front of him with a complex expression, "Is this the power of a witch? You... never mind, I’m dead now."
John looked at a magic array formation around him, left by Katrina. Within its range, the natural resentnt of the deceased towards the living swiftly vanished. He looked at Zheng Yichen and asked, "Is the mission complete?"
"It is. Raymond was problematic; he fooled us all."
"Captain..." John sighed, "Why did you summon ? Is there a problem?"
"It’s about Raymond."
John shook his head, "I’ve been tead up with him for years. My understanding of him is much the sa as yours. After I died, I was in a daze and couldn’t think properly until you summoned . So I’m sorry."
"If he’s not dead, I’ll find him," Zheng Yichen said, seeing that John’s spirit didn’t know anything about the ensuing events, and didn’t press on with questions.
John nodded, "I am dead now. The blessings of the deceased aren’t very pleasant... so, let’s just say goodbye."
The sustaining necromantic skill disappeared, and the smoky figure in front of them dissipated along with it.
Zheng Yichen led Katrina away from the place of John’s death. It wasn’t long before an Undead appeared there again. Devoid of Katrina’s magic, the purified resentnt of the Undead erged once more, and it lingered around the place of death for a while.
Dying in the wild ant that no corpse remained; neither the wolves nor other beasts would pass up on such a large piece of flesh.
The Undead, after hovering hesitantly, drifted off in one direction.
"This place feels so strange." Katrina couldn’t help but say as she looked at the tones of the Dusk Cathedral; after entering, she had the sa sensation as Zheng Yichen had at first—it seed as though ti had frozen at dusk. Standing at the entrance and looking inside the Dusk Cathedral and then at the outside world, it was like observing two entirely different realms.
"Hold on here... I’ll ask around."
Zheng Yichen found a nun within the church and asked, "Can they learn about so of the things here?"
"Of course, they can," the nun’s reply was very generous, but her following words made the corner of Zheng Yichen’s mouth twitch, "But if there are any problems, you’ll be responsible for them—the Dusk Cathedral won’t be affected."
"It won’t be affected? But the glass orb from before..."
"You brought that in."
Zheng Yichen was at a loss for words. Since the nun had put it that way, he went over to where Katrina and Eileena were resting and shared so information with them, including how to leave this world. He was now one of the Proxy Agents of the Dusk Cathedral, enjoying such benefits.
This ti, his return to Hazy City ca as a bonus, but it wouldn’t be so easy thereafter unless it was to clear up so unstable factors in other worlds.
That was the kind of guy Raymond was. Thinking of Raymond, Zheng Yichen suddenly had a new question and asked the accompanying nun, "Is Raymond still in this world?"
The nun answered, "I don’t know. Apart from entering other worlds through anomalies, there are seldom other ways, but not impossible."
This ant that the possibility of Raymond still being in this world wasn’t high. The other party had achieved their objective, and staying in this world was essentially aningless. They had stayed here for several years just to find an opportunity—that person was indeed ruthless.
"Sigh," Zheng Yichen exhaled. Unable to get any substantive information from here, and given the state of this world, the chances of finding Raymond were quite slim, even if he hadn’t left the world.
There were too many people called Raymond in this world, and moreover, the other party wasn’t even using their real na.
So... it would be best to disrupt so of what the other party—or rather, the powers behind them—wanted to do. In doing so, there would eventually be an opportunity to encounter them.
"I want to return to Hazy City. Can my carriage be stored here?"
The nun nodded, "Follow ."
Katrina watched Zheng Yichen and stood up nervously. The idea that you could travel to different worlds from this place was incredible to her, and she felt very anxious about what was coming next, while the attitude of the Forest Witch Eileena was one of anticipation.
The nun led Zheng Yichen to a door, which looked more like a confessional. Upon opening the door, the room inside wasn’t pitch black, but visibility wasn’t too high either.
"Go in," the nun gestured for Zheng Yichen to stop dawdling.
Zheng Yichen’s eyes twitched imperceptibly, and he walked in, pulling Katrina with him.
"Goodbye."
At the very mont the door closed, the nun’s voice ca through, followed by a soft click, and then silence enveloped the room.
"What do we do?" After waiting for a few minutes, Katrina, who was nervously clutching Zheng Yichen’s arm, asked. The room was small, and with Zheng Yichen there, she didn’t feel claustrophobic, but staying there indefinitely wasn’t an option either.
"Just wait a mont," Zheng Yichen comforted the girl beside him, and then the locked door of the room was opened from the outside.
It was Prioress Tia, who had interacted quite a bit with Zheng Yichen in the past. With a calm expression, she looked at Zheng Yichen, "Next ti, open the door and co out by yourself. Staying in here takes up space."
"?" Zheng Yichen blinked, so once inside, he had to open the door himself to leave? If only the nun from Katrina’s world had made things clearer instead of leaving them standing there looking lost for several minutes. "Got it, it’s really nice to see you again!"
With Prioress Tia there, it was certainly the Dusk Cathedral of Hazy City.
Zheng Yichen, with the girl by his side, hurriedly walked out, arriving at the cathedral’s hall. Looking around at the people there, he expressed a long-missed sentint, "I’m finally back!!"
Those days without the internet, without goofy netizens, without toilet paper in the bathroom, missing all kinds of modern condints at als, without instant noodles—those days had finally skedaddled!
Katrina curiously observed the people inside the cathedral; their dress was completely different from that of her world. Almost everyone had a cell phone, which she found fascinating, and so were using what she thought was an amazing device, a laptop.
Everything in her eyes seed extraordinarily novel and unique.
"Will shopping here really be as convenient as you said?"
Girl, you’re concerned about so rather odd things.
