A silent roar rose from the Oath Beast’s form, and dark purple mist spread abnormally, thinning out and experiencing a transformation in its very nature. Zheng Yichen could feel the Oath Beast, under the threat of extinction, was abandoning certain characteristics.
The mist beca ordinary mist, and the surrounding environnt began to exhibit Alien Phenonon; so Oath Keepers here were starting to feel imnse pressure.
Those Oath Keepers who could fight here had been greatly enhanced; this enhancent allowed them to temporarily hold their ground against the God Descenders who had crossed over from the Great World.
After all, due to the limitations of the world environnt, the performance coefficient of the God Descenders’ power was impacted, which seed very high, but to those Oath Keepers who had their powers greatly enhanced, the gap wasn’t excessively outrageous. To completely overpower them, one would have to rely on techniques and a non-human Performance Coefficient, as well as more unique factors, such as Divinity or sothing akin to the power of rules.
Zheng Yichen didn’t consider these two types; Divinity only had passive effects on him, making him capable of cutting down those beings which possessed the aforentioned traits was enough.
The strength of the God Descenders was formidable; in the world of magic, killing a Demigod wouldn’t be too difficult for them. However, they didn’t possess Divinity, or at least most of the God Descenders didn’t. Yue Heng did have that kind of power, but she had already left the scene.
To Zheng Yichen, the current changes of the Oath Beast seed like a demotion, from a more powerful and unique Oath Beast to a normal Alien Phenonon creature, and the effects were quite evident: Oath Keepers couldn’t maintain a normal state in an Alien Phenonon environnt.
However, the change in the Phenonon had a process; Zheng Yichen could feel the Alien Phenonon environnt’s increasing influence on him. During the ti when this influence was increasing, Zheng Yichen severed the remaining large Chains of Oath from the body of the Oath Beast.
Those smaller Chains of Oath shattered and disappeared along with the diminishing body of the Oath Beast.
Eventually, the Oath Beast revealed its nature as an Alien Phenonon creature.
A mass of flesh clumped together, its surface covered in white-maggot-like tentacles that connected all the ’chunks’ accumulated together, which included chunks of human and so sort of animal flesh.
At its core, the crimson blade’s edge struck the heap of massive flesh, which began to decay. Facing this, Zheng Yichen didn’t even want to use his Extraordinary abilities to extract blood.
He also didn’t think the blood of such a creature would yield any positive feedback, especially since the chunks of flesh had the coloration of corpses; one tasting could probably lead to a week’s discomfort.
This was like the biological weapons near the God Simulation Engine at that ti, where a large portion of the combat biological weapons didn’t have sothing like blood; either they contained so sort of fluid, or the blood was spoiled, anyway, it was very much targeting him.
But Zheng Yichen had already lived through those tis where he needed to continuously feed on blood during combat for sustenance.
As the massive chunks of flesh on the Alien Phenonon creature decayed and vanished, the creature’s fundantal structure was soon exposed; indeed, it didn’t seem like any normal life form, its true form was like a bundle of nerves.
There was no specific core part; the creature’s body was dense and filled with large and small nerve-like tentacles writhing about, but without the protection of those chunks of flesh, the Alien Phenonon creature’s true form also began to decay with Zheng Yichen’s slashing.
Once its true form was exposed, the Alien Phenonon creature was fragile. After the creature perished, the moving Alien Phenonon completely disappeared. Zheng Yichen took in a deep breath, promptly tapped his temple to suppress the strong Oblivion Impression that had surfaced.
His darkened vision didn’t return to normal, and the noise of the world agitated his spirit, making him irritable; his body... his body was also sowhat exhausted.
However, the damage that Oblivion dealt to his body was not... significant? Perhaps most of the impact was neutralized by the Oath Power and Counter-Oath Power, leaving him to feel nothing more than fatigue, a form of tiredness that couldn’t be directly restored just by consuming Life Force.
As for the additional effects, he’d have to check slowly afterward.
The surge in Oath Power, with the demise of the Oath Beast, reverted back to normal; the established oaths were completely obliterated, and to generate new Oath Power, new oaths would have to be made. Counter-Oath Power left Zheng Yichen feeling a bit peculiar.
This power... had a guaranteed base now.
Oath Power and Counter-Oath Power were not purely forces; simply put, they were like a mana bar. Having such power ant having such a bar, but how high the bar’s limit could be was determined by the related power.
The Oath Power he obtained through Oath Power was started directly from zero, with no fixed upper limit; it could just keep accumulating. But without a fixed upper limit, it couldn’t be like Inner Strength, which, even after exhaustion, would slowly recover to a certain level due to the fixed upper limit.
Oath Power, once used, was completely exhausted; there was no natural recovery, the mana bar would drop to zero.
Counter-Oath Power now manifested as a portion with a fixed upper limit on Counter-Oath Power. Like Inner Strength, as long as the upper limit value was not damaged, it could recover even after complete use.
Counter-Oath Power did not require establishing oaths; it could be enhanced just by destroying oaths, and the way to destroy oaths was to kill those Oath Keepers. This was also an important way for Oath monsters to grow stronger.
