Zheng Yichen didn’t bring back many substantial things this ti, the most valuable being the ashes of the Great Evil God and the black liquid that flowed from the black moon; other than that, the rest were basically souls of Evil Spirits and knowledge from that world.
The power used by humans in that world was rune-based, and that power seed to have so connection to the Great Evil God. While battling the Great Evil God, Zheng Yichen noticed so marks on his body that were similar to runes, which were also present on the God of Rebellion.
After comparing them with Lilith, Zheng Yichen beca even more certain of this.
How special such power is can be left to more professional people to figure out.
It was still early, so Zheng Yichen contacted Ahn Ke, who simply told him to go directly to her research facility. After all, she was only in charge of the hunters group; everything Zheng Yichen brought back that required research, apart from knowledge that could directly enhance one’s strength, was to be taken to Ahn Ke’s place for study.
This ti was no exception, so why not go directly to the place he was supposed to go to.
"Is this all? Did you encounter so difficult problems?" Ahn Ke raised her eyebrows slightly as she looked at what Zheng Yichen had brought, feeling that it didn’t quite fit his style. In the past, Zheng Yichen always brought back very rich hauls.
But this ti, he only brought back two items of research value to her: the first was a fragnt of the Great Evil God’s ashes, and the second was the black liquid. She had examined Alice’s blood samples and then lost much interest.
The blood samples were indeed very special, like those that only half-humans, half-beasts, or humans with mixed bloodlines might have. Alice’s blood was even more special, but paled in comparison to the other two items Zheng Yichen brought.
Ordinary thods revealed nothing about the fragnts of the Great Evil God’s ashes, but when certain special thods were employed, it was found that they contained a vast amount of biological information, more unique than the Essence of Life.
However, the two should not be confused, and as for the black liquid, it was sowhat similar to the Sky Pillar’s energy blood provided by Zheng Yichen but was like a downgraded version of that blood and was extrely volatile. Yet, this was exactly what Ahn Ke wanted.
Zheng Yichen’s blood was hard to preserve for long, but the black liquid could exist indefinitely if stored properly, and as a downgraded substitute, it allowed her to conduct more additional research.
But in this respect, Ahn Ke was greedy...
"Nothing more, just these. The main world is dominated by energy entities and doesn’t have many special creatures," Zheng Yichen said, spreading his hands and speaking very decisively.
"I see, let’s leave it then," Ahn Ke shook her head with a slight regret. She wasn’t particularly interested in energy entities because they weren’t much help to biological research. Even though energy entities could be considered a kind of ’lifeform’ in a sense, in her field, that kind of ’lifeform’ wasn’t the sa as the lifeforms she was interested in.
She valued physical forms more.
On the other hand, Ahn Qi didn’t say much. The knowledge about runes that Zheng Yichen brought back was quite comprehensive. Although Ahn Qi felt this knowledge of runes had a vibe of exorcism and spirit control, it wasn’t to be underestimated.
On the contrary, this power could fill so gaps for the hunters group. More importantly, the use of rune power required very low conditions, and even so ordinary people could use it, albeit at a great cost, such as ntal power depletion, which could easily lead to brain death for ordinary people.
The hunters group had professionals to study and analyze such powers thoroughly, and their system was complete; Ahn Qi was very satisfied with this. Moreover, now that the hunters group had the fire dragon, after revealing so of their purposes, Ahn Qi made full use of him both as a combatant and as a knowledge consultant for the hunters group.
With a purpose of his own, the fire dragon agreed right away.
"I’m more curious about that Great Evil God. The legend in that world is that he’s the origin of life, and indeed, the fragnt contains an enormous amount of life information..." Ahn Ke looked at a sealed fragnt, noting that apart from vast life information, it also had so unique powers.
However, to activate those special powers, so conditions needed to be t, either by invoking them in a particular way or achieving a certain synchronization rate.
After comparing with her own information database, she noted that most life information she recorded had a low synchronization rate with the fragnt and couldn’t et the standard to trigger the fragnt’s power.
The two vials of Alice’s blood samples brought back by Zheng Yichen had a remarkably high synchronization rate, each representing Alice’s two states: one vial was inclined towards evil, the other towards order.
However, the blood drawn from both states had nearly the sa synchronization rate in testing, whether corresponding to the positive or negative fragnt.
This new discovery made Ahn Ke pay ample attention to Alice’s blood.
In the world Zheng Yichen had newly encountered, the Great Evil God’s association with the origin of life might be dubious, but He definitely had a very close connection with the creatures in that world. As for the origin... if it were indeed the origin, then how would the creatures from other worlds have co into existence?
Sprung forth from rocks?
Research done by a person is tedious, and Ahn Ke didn’t deign to share information or ’explain’ during research with others not deed worthy. Today’s atmosphere in the laboratory was different, and Ahn Ke didn’t seem to mind giving so explanations while conducting her research.
"The legends of that world have so relation to the origin of life, but based on the preliminary research outcos of these fragnts, I am more inclined to believe that the legend has been misunderstood or that so critical information was not recorded.
These fragnts contain a vast amount of life information, so let us tentatively consider the Great Evil God as a special kind of ’Ark of Life’."
"Ark of Life?"
"Yes, Ark of Life." Ahn Ke nodded, continuing, "Regardless of the thod, I have not studied nor seen the Great Evil God’s original life form, but a large amount of life information can reshape or alter the life form of so creatures. These fragnts themselves can serve as a kind of ’Life disk’.
Based on so of the information you’ve provided, it also has the ability to change and adjust the environnt, which is one of the essential conditions for cultivating life. Hence, I believe this object is a special ’Ark of Life,’ far more efficient for preserving life than storing the cells of organisms."
The Great Evil God itself is a very powerful entity and won’t easily disappear after death; it will even transform the environnt. If one were to actively preserve life in this manner, that would indeed be formidable.
"Uh, although what you say is well-founded, the Great Evil God really doesn’t feel like what you describe."
"It’s immaterial, this is just an analysis. Maybe I analyzed it wrong, but the existence of these fragnts can indeed be used for special ’Ark of Life’ research. If it cos to a point where the end of the world is unavoidable, we could try using this thod. Perhaps by then we could create a unique Ark of Life based on you."
In Ahn Ke’s conception, a ’Ark of Life’ akin to the Great Evil God must first and foremost have incredibly powerful adaptability and survival skills, surpassing the protective effects of a repository of life information. The lifespan should be much longer, and the capacity to impact and remodel the environnt is especially important.
After making the necessary alterations to the environnt for the ’Ark of Life’, the Ark would continuously affect all life within, including microorganisms. Following that, the evolution of life on the other side would approach or fully synchronize with the Ark’s recorded life information.
Perhaps the Great Evil God itself is not the entity she hypothesized, but the ashen fragnts left by the Great Evil God inspired her in such a way...
"The Ark of Life is too far-fetched, and even if a world perished, we could still go to other worlds. The conditions in Hazy City are right there," Ahn Qi wasn’t too interested in this hopeful future study. With so many anomalies in Hazy City, the worst-case scenario after encountering problems would be to invade other worlds and occupy new colonies...
How could there be a situation where everything was annihilated, and there was a need to preserve life information?
"I am more concerned with how these fragnts can enhance power."
"..." Ahn Ke glanced at Ahn Qi, thought for a mont, and refrained from using harsh words that should not be spoken to a sister, "These fragnts carry a wealth of life information, naturally including the parts that elevate lifeform levels, provided there is a sufficient ’synchronization rate’. I have your hunters group’s dical exam records here, and not a single person on that side has an adequate synchronization rate."
"That’s your problem to solve," Ahn Qi replied nonchalantly. If everyone had the adequate synchronization rate Ahn Ke talked about, then what would be the use of soone like Ahn Ke?
Ahn Ke, however, turned to look at Zheng Yichen. Zheng Yichen pulled out a new fragnt from his pocket and tossed it in his hand, "Don’t look at , I don’t feel anything when holding this."
"That ans you don’t have an adequate synchronization rate either." Ahn Ke looked at the paused video on the computer beside her, which showed records of the native inhabitants of Kreich, City of Evil Spirits, gaining great power upon obtaining a fragnt.
Although she had no physical samples to study, Ahn Ke could discern so changes in the lifeform level of those individuals. In addition, the fragnt itself contained enough power that eting the synchronization rate requirents and then interacting with the fragnt would allow one to harness its power.
"You should have brought back more samples."
"...Forget it, I was nearly going mad back then." Zheng Yichen waved his hand dismissively; at that ti, his mind was focused on a massacre, and he had no interest in collecting anything – only Lilith cared to collect certain things using drones.
But back then, blood samples and the like had no use for him, so they weren’t within Lilith’s collecting range. And afterwards? He forgot about it.
