Above the vast Land of Death, a hand reached out from the earth, disturbing the gathering Undead nearby. These Undead didn’t take much interest in Zheng Yichen, rely giving him an instinctive ’glance’ before moving on.
A black cat spirit sat by Zheng Yichen’s side, looking sowhat listless as it licked a paw. Once Zheng Yichen stood up, the cat spirit sprung into action, burrowing into the tattered cloak.
"Huh, am I dead?" Zheng Yichen looked at his hands; the color of his palms was as pale as a corpse’s, yet the flexibility of his body hadn’t changed."
Body temperature... 3.7°?
Well, Hell is pretty cold after all.
Feeling the emptiness within himself, Zheng Yichen grabbed a handful of soil. As the balance of the environnt was restored to normal, the dying Hell also revived, and the equipnt he wore allowed him to feel the ’protection’ provided by the Netherworld of Hell while standing on this land.
It was this very sensation that allowed Zheng Yichen to survive the explosion—he was alive but not fully so.
The Power of Death filled his body, with only a sliver of the Life Force of the living remaining.
Zheng Yichen could feel his heartbeat, though now it thumped perhaps once every ten minutes, no more animate than a decoration. The wounds on his body were healed by the Power of Death, and the Blood Asura inner force recovered at an incredibly slow pace.
The cat spirit cloak was badly damaged and couldn’t heal because Zheng Yichen’s body no longer emitted any vital essence—the Power of Death was not within the scope of what the cloak could absorb, preventing it from recovering.
The fishing rod, however, was fine.
Based on the number of heartbeats, Zheng Yichen had been lying in the Netherworld of Hell for about four hours. Even so, his body still felt sowhat weak, though it didn’t hinder his normal activities anymore.
"Does this land want to stay?" Zheng Yichen thought to himself. He blinked and saw a Dusk-colored milestone. In Hell, he could still see the milestone of Dusk, even though there shouldn’t be such a thing in Hell.
Shaking his head, Zheng Yichen walked towards the Dusk milestone. Since his body was temporarily fine and particularly suited to this Netherworld, he might as well visit places he hadn’t seen before, like how to find the Dusk milestone from Hell.
The explosion had blasted him sowhere unknown, and he could tell from the environnt around him how much the explosion from a few hours before had impacted Hell.
The Netherworld of Hell wanted him to stay, yet he already belonged to Dusk... uh? It seems that Dusk didn’t mind much about doubling as a Proxy Agent? Just as long as he didn’t side with the enemy.
He petted the listless cat spirit on his shoulder. Although the cat spirit was a Vengeful Spirit, in Zheng Yichen’s eyes, amidst this desolate and silent Land of Death, the cat spirit seed even more adorable.
Approaching a wandering Undead, it looked at Zheng Yichen blankly, halting as Zheng Yichen ca closer and making a gesture of submission towards him.
"...what’s going on?" Zheng Yichen waved his hand, and a water mirror erged in front of him. He clearly saw his current appearance: pale hair, dark red eyes. Zheng Yichen thought of sothing and cut his finger, the droplets of blood the sa color as his eyes.
The cut on his finger quickly healed under the Power of Death.
Zheng Yichen left the place, feeling that the change in his eye color was probably due to his current physical state being closer to that of the Undead, much like albinism. While white hair and red eyes matched his aesthetic, having it on himself felt sowhat strange.
Better to recover soon.
The dazed Undead stared blankly at the departing Zheng Yichen, then turned to gaze at the drop of blood on the ground, instinctively reaching out to touch it...
"Weird!" Zheng Yichen looked at the gloomy sky; the Land of Death in Hell didn’t have a sun. He had been walking for more than two hours, the Dusk milestone growing closer. Strangely, despite feeling terribly unwell since waking up, he hadn’t felt a bit sleepy.
Is this what it feels like to be Undead?
But now that he had beco like this, Zheng Yichen was sowhat concerned whether the passive trait of the serpent’s exuvia could be triggered again. The ability wasn’t invincible, and he had experienced it several tis before.
Mainly, the ability would compress all Life Force to an extre point and then burst forth like a bomb, fully unleashing the energy of the Life Force upon receiving a fatal injury.
Lacking sufficient Life Force now... forget it, let’s not try it.
Having such a passive when alive felt reassuring, even though his current state made him feel very odd, as if he were hard to kill. But isn’t it good to be alive?
Standing before a great precipice, Zheng Yichen halted. Ahead of him was no longer the familiar ground, but rather the scattered isles in Hell, shattered by the explosion.
Through the fissured earth, a sinister red glow hinted at the flowing lava deep underground.

Zheng Yichen pressed his hand onto the ground and couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. He had dealt with a Supre Demon with Soil-earth type extraordinary abilities. Its hide had beco enhancent material, and the feedback he got from bloodsucking was a significant enhancent of the Soil-earth aspect in elents manipulation.
However, this enhancent was nothing compared to the Soil-earth powers used by the previous Arriver.
Now, using this power, Zheng Yichen felt sothing unusual; it seed like he could plunder the ’Life Force’ of the earth, which was not a feature he had before, but now it appeared, and his first thought was of the giant beast Makara.
The beast had transford from a flesh carpet’s main body, with a change in form and real blood running through it, and during battle, Zheng Yichen had drained a massive amount of blood from it.
This feeling was probably the feedback from the flesh carpet’s main body itself. He had once gained a passive trait after defeating that Soil-earth Supre Demon, which was the ability to continuously recover and enhance his defense while standing on the earth.
This passive trait was now linked with the newly acquired ability to plunder the earth’s vitality. The reason he hadn’t noticed before was that he hadn’t communicated with the earth further through elents manipulation; the plundering part was active.
Beyond this, through this deeper connection, Zheng Yichen felt the earth’s ’protection’ more distinctly, which was the sa sensation he had when the giant beast Makara was defending itself against him.
And this ’protection’ doesn’t seem to be just a passive association related to the earth; it’s sothing he felt after deepening his connection with the earth.
With this trait, the ability to plunder the vitality of the earth seems like it could be super, super multiplied... kind of like being your own watchdog and thief?
Standing up, he decided not to try it imdiately. Instead, he found his extraordinary abilities to be quite interesting. These two types of abilities should conflict, right? One is about receiving protection from the environnt, and the other could be seen as a destroyer of the environnt.
It was like the relationship between police and criminals.
Zheng Yichen thought this was quite good. The Earth Devouring ability is sothing to be used sparingly, but on a mutated planet, why not use it?
"What doesn’t kill only makes stronger," he said, shaking the fishing rod in his hand and planting it in the ground. The ground began to tremble, and the scattered isles in Hell began to rge automatically, with the smaller ones gathering to form larger ones.
After completing all this, Zheng Yichen took a deep breath but didn’t proceed further. It wasn’t that he couldn’t do it, but rather he couldn’t continue.
He had only tried a little and already felt quite tired. But while he did so, he distinctly felt the ’protection’ of the earth. As he rged small islets, Hell’s environnt compensated to so extent, allowing the process, which shouldn’t have gone smoothly, to complete successfully.
However, he was unable to rge the larger chunks of isles. The environntal ’protection’ wasn’t that strong, but this could also be considered a passive Unity of Heaven and Man, right?
Although he couldn’t rge the larger scattered isles in Hell, he could do sothing else—a ’bridge’ appeared connecting the isles.
Zheng Yichen stepped onto the bridge before him, traveling between the isles and seeing a vast spatial distortion, right where the explosion had originated.
The Dusk milestone was extending from this spatial distortion.
"I thought it was so complex situation," Zheng Yichen said with a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth. He was prepared to find a Hell version of the Dusk Territory sowhere in Hell, considering Hell has its native residents. Doesn’t Dusk have a branch there? Is it underestimating the common folk of Hell?
But the result... was indeed the case?
Just as Zheng Yichen decided to trust Dusk and was about to touch the massive distortion, sothing round flew out of the rift, tumbling on the ground several tis before it started hovering again.
One of the round object’s caras zeroed in on Zheng Yichen: "Highest execution target located, target status abnormal! Life signs weak, requires assistance!"
The orb shot back into the rift behind it as if frantically, leaving Zheng Yichen baffled. He then shook his head and walked forward, lightly touching the darkness inside the rift.
Within the spatial distortion, it was pitch-black, yet if one looked carefully, it wasn’t like the darkness of a blackboard but more like the undulating surface of water.
The mont he reached inside, Zheng Yichen felt a chaotic pressure—with pushing and pulling forces—but it had no effect on him, since he now possessed the ability to distort space.
With this ability, he could feel the ’flow of space’ inside the spatial distortion, and he could even make the chaotic pressures orderly with his own spatial distortion abilities.
After experiencing it for a short ti, Zheng Yichen went in.
On the other end of the spatial distortion, after the detector frantically returned, the staff outside got busy.
The detector returned violently, damaged by the pressures of the spatial flow, but it brought back important information. It discovered the missing Proxy Agent on the other side, with very weak life signs, necessitating an urgent rescue!!
The detector had no rescue functions, so it sped back as programd. But after seeing the recorded image, the staff was stunned... this was not what they had anticipated.
