Gazing at the Sky Pillar now bearing cracks, Edelson fell silent. His last strike had nearly split the pillar, and the cracks on its surface had begun to affect the operation of the Devouring Sky Pillar. If Zheng Yichen couldn’t be effectively intercepted, the pillar could be completely severed with the next hit.

The assumption was that Zheng Yichen could still deliver that strike... No, he could! The information held by the Boundary Breakers wasn’t complete, or rather, the intel they had received was outdated.

Zheng Yichen not only followed a lineage route capable of vampiric powers in combat, but he could also extract demonic thoughts during battle. The demonic thoughts he emitted could affect others within range, and ordinary Devourers simply couldn’t withstand the invasion of demonic thoughts.

After Demonization, not only would they lose discernnt of friend and foe, but the demonic thoughts they produced would also be siphoned by Zheng Yichen, making the demonic energy around him materialize. Demon flas surged heavenward, making Edelson’s eye twitch, especially when he saw so changes in Zheng Yichen’s face.

It was a change as if slashed apart; half his face was like that of a demon, while the other half was emotionless, like a statue.

Correspondingly, the big black cleaving saber in his hand grew more ferocious by the mont. This strike...

Edelson sighed, this strike’s power would only be stronger than the last. This Proxy Agent was far more troubleso than the one they had faced before. Although that Proxy Agent had an extrely overbearing physique, his physical strength was ultimately limited.

Zheng Yichen’s initial performance was far from that of the previous Proxy Agent. Let’s put it this way, if the previous one were to take on the Sky Pillar lightsaber, he would be smashed to the ground, injured, but not dead. Zheng Yichen didn’t have such strength at first; he needed ti to warm up.

After the warm-up was successful, he beca particularly outrageous. This guy could not only drink blood but was also treading a very dangerous Evil Path, letting enemies enter Demonization to extract their demonic thoughts for his power. Zombies could prevent the possibility of Zheng Yichen drinking blood, but who says zombies can’t undergo Demonization?

But Zheng Yichen didn’t bring down his saber just yet; he was waiting for sothing. Edelson’s eyes twitched slightly as he quickly realized what Zheng Yichen was after. This guy was waiting for people!

He was waiting for a stronger Devourer to co down through the Sky Pillar or for the remaining Devourers to retreat. Either scenario would an a devastating strike as soon as it occurred.

Edelson imdiately relayed this dangerous information to their headquarters. As for himself, he was preparing to find an opportunity to Escape. Zheng Yichen’s displayed combat power was no longer at their level unless the headquarters sent sufficient strength to withstand Zheng Yichen’s charged strike.

Otherwise, there was no point in fighting.

As soon as Edelson relayed the ssage, the headquarters responded swiftly. They would provide astonishing attack support to cover their retreat and attempt to take out Zheng Yichen.

It was clear that the headquarters didn’t plan to give up on this world easily. As for Baylock, he had nothing to say about it. He would follow the instructions for what ca next, staring at the sky, his eyes turning a pale color as a figure identical to his split away.

This figure, like a phantom, pulsated with energy fluctuations similar to the Sky Pillar.

The figure reached directly into the pillar and pulled out a lightsaber-like thin beam of light, which was connected by dense threads of light.

The phantom swung the lightsaber, a Light Blade cutting towards Zheng Yichen, and Edelson’s eyes widened. Facing such an attack designed only to stall ti, Zheng Yichen’s response was very straightforward, so straightforward that Edelson regretted taking action.

The Proxy Agent unleashed the heavily suppressed strike, a crimson slash tearing through the Light Blade, breaking through the newly reconstructed defenses around the Sky Pillar, destroying his released soul, and finally landing on the already cracked Sky Pillar.

Crack—

A deafening roar echoed between heaven and earth as the upper part of the bisected Sky Pillar spread with cracks, desperately maintaining its original form, while the lower part began to collapse with the spread of cracks, along with the ravaged land.

This land was already unstable due to the battle. It had remained stable because the roots of the Sky Pillar spread throughout the land, providing additional support for the collapsing earth.

However, with the complete severing and shattering of the Sky Pillar, that support was gone...

Shocked, Edelson thought the attack was just a probe, a re opening move. The successive attacks would have waited for so feedback from Zheng Yichen’s side before continuing. But Zheng Yichen had gone ahead with his powerful move.

His previous stance was clearly one of deliberate waiting, seeming to be ready to clear out more enemies. So why had he suddenly beco so fierce??

Edelson watched Zheng Yichen with his still-intact eye. The soul he had split off was cut down by a single strike, blinding one of his eyes. Now that the Sky Pillar had been severed, there was no need to stay.

The objective of this Proxy Agent from the beginning was the Sky Pillar; they, the obstructions, were secondary.

Streams of light wrapped around the broken Sky Pillar and quickly flew into the clouds above. As the broken pillar began to retract, countless points of light converged on the severed Sky Pillar.

That was the power scattered from the shattered lower half of the Sky Pillar, which would normally reintegrate into this world.

Entities that ca into contact with it would receive slight feedback, and even such minimal feedback could result in a transformative rebirth. However, this change was limited to the natives of this world. Yet, under the absorption of the Devouring Sky Pillar still in effect, so of that power would inevitably be pulled away.

But to the Devouring Faction, this fraction of the world force was too insignificant... It did not even amount to one ten-thousandth of the crystallized part; the energy content of crystallization and the light points was not on the sa level.

Zheng Yichen was holding a shattered Sky Pillar crystal in his hand, stuffing it into his mouth bit by bit. The absorbed and transford Sky Pillar’s energy rged into his blood and he stored it in a bottle, making no additional effort to stop the departing light pillars.

He also retained so of the Sky Pillar’s energy in his body, and even after using demonic thoughts at a high intensity, he did not stop demonization. In the sky, he felt a kind of heavy pressure that kept increasing with the extraction of the Sky Pillar.

As the pressure mounted, Zheng Yichen’s expressionless face sliced through the nearby space with a saber and stepped directly into it—

"..." The attack brewing in the clouds ca to an abrupt halt, completely losing the trace of its target. Continuing the attack would be aningless. The strike could attempt to blow up a star, by directing the attack into the planet’s core and then detonating the entire planet.

But that was an ideal scenario. Such an attack could be effective against other planets, but it was useless against the world ’heart’. At most, the strike could completely destroy this already unstable continent, with the remaining attacks being resisted by the planet, making it impossible to blow up the star.

Beyond Firmant City, there were hardly any living creatures left on this world’s continents, so unleashing that attack would only result in an additional waste of energy.

Firmant No. 91.

An operator’s eyes widened as he watched the collapsing land on the screen resembling a domino collapse. The range of the collapse was extensive, but it was all centered around the Devouring Sky Pillar. It would affect this area, but with the protection of the Firmant Wheel, the land could be stabilized to prevent the cities below from being impacted.

His attention quickly shifted away from the collapsing land. The continent seed dood, but it hadn’t completely fallen apart yet, right? No big deal!

The real concern was so important indices detected by the Firmant Wheel from the environnt!

The unbalanced environnt was rapidly returning to normal.

His expression changed from initial shock and confusion to flushed excitent: "Quick! Release the detectors!!"

A multitude of detectors were launched, and even after leaving the protective range of the Firmant Wheel, they continued to operate normally, their energy not drained by the unbalanced environnt.

Cheers erupted from the operators in the command room.

A serious-looking man also revealed a relieved smile. He was the captain of Firmant No. 91. Once he confird the environnt was stabilizing, he imdiately said, "Don’t let your guard down, continue monitoring. Dispatch a reconnaissance team to scout the Devouring Sky Pillar, use the old model detectors."

"Understood!"

Soon, a reconnaissance team flew out from the protection of the Firmant Wheel. One of their numbers relaxed his tense expression and reported, "Although the environnt is still very cold, our powers will no longer dissipate. However, the efficacy of our powers is only at sixty percent of what it used to be... Our world needs healing and recuperation."

Their world’s research on the environnt was thorough. In the external environnt, their special powers were operating at about sixty percent efficacy, undoubtedly a side effect of the environntal imbalance. Now, their world was like a patient who had just recovered from a critical illness.

While their condition was improving, the weakness would not imdiately disappear.

"Hahaha! I feel great, I can perform at one hundred percent!" echoed a hearty voice over the communication channel: "Let’s go investigate the site!"

"Depart!" The man who had made the report spoke succinctly. His teammate who could perform at full capacity practiced Body Refinent, involving very little special energy but possessing an imnsely strong constitution. Looking ahead at the darkening sky, he could foresee that there would be an increase in those practicing Body Refinent.

At least until their world recovered its health, that would be the case.

They were using old model detectors, a precaution taken to avoid negative impacts from technological infiltration by the Boundary Breaking Faction. After discovering issues with the Firmant Wheel, many of their equipnts reverted to models from years ago.

As the investigation team approached the vicinity of the Devouring Sky Pillar, their numbers grew, with more than one Firmant Wheel dispatching teams.

"Report, the Devouring Sky Pillar has been confird destroyed, no trace of Proxy Agents has been found—"
