"Seasoning can’t save this." Munching on the ’root’ in his hand, Zheng Yichen stuffed so spices into his mouth as well. He had reverted to the state he was in when he first encountered the stuff, and his body was undergoing a severe ’energy crystallization’ due to consuming a vast quantity of Sky Pillar roots.
However, his current state was stronger than before, and his endurance had greatly increased, allowing him to consu much more than last ti at once.
The texture of this stuff was like that of a stone, but once digested, it left no substantial residue. As long as his body could withstand it, he could keep eating it endlessly.
During the ti Zheng Yichen was eating, more and more projection screens appeared around him. Lilith had collected information from the surroundings and created a map model, which, combined with reports from Firmant No. 7, allowed her to analyze the situation through the damaged state of the Firmant Wheel.
The map indicated the blind spots of those models. If Zheng Yichen avoided venturing into those hazardous areas, there shouldn’t be any serious problems... as if.
If possible, Zheng Yichen certainly didn’t want to get bombarded in a world with both high environntal hazards and advanced technological levels.
The Firmant Wheel could be used as a galactic warship.
"How’s the blood storage?"
"No leakage detected upon examination, but it will deteriorate outside the container," Lilith said, taking out a projection screen showing the inside of a motorcycle’s storage compartnt containing Zheng Yichen’s extracted blood, which was valuable but difficult to preserve.
Storage wasn’t a problem now. The motorcycle’s enhancent wasn’t for nothing.
"Okay, I’m about at my limit. Let’s get ready to move." Zheng Yichen looked at his palm. He was like a moving energy crystal, a mobile Elents crystal.
He checked the weapons in the weapon case, which had also started to glow. But then Lilith told Zheng Yichen so bad news: these weapons, after being enhanced with Sky Pillar energy and becoming crystallized, were good to use as long as there was enough energy, but once the energy was depleted, they would shatter like glass.
After all, this enhancent was not like Dusk’s.
"One-ti use, huh?"
Zheng Yichen curled his lip and pressed a bullet into the weapon’s magazine, "Mark an aiming assist line, and I’ll test the weapon."
"Boss, lacking long-distance positioning, my assistance isn’t accurate."
"You always have to test the capabilities of a new weapon."
"Alright." A semi-transparent projection screen unfolded in front of Zheng Yichen, and using thermal vision, he locked on and tapped the screen, only able to determine a rough distance between them. Deploying drones wasn’t out of the question, but they would certainly be shot down.
A little human-machine cooperation for a trial was fine, but afterwards, he’d still need to get up close to chop the pillars.
"Two hours have passed; what is that guy doing? He’s not scared, is he?" A Devourer boredly stared at Zheng Yichen’s location. He tossed away the cigarette in his hand and froze on the spot, staring in shock as his lower body vanished.
"Aaaahhhh—!!" The scream startled the other Devourers, who quickly converged on the spot. One of them paled and darted off into the distance, having seen the attack that blasted his comrade’s lower half away.
A streak of distorted light flew by. The very space seed to warp along the flight path of this streak, turning the impacted ally into a mist of blood. Protective gear was useless, and while those with robust physiques might leave sothing behind, the weaker ones were gone completely.
"Damn it, retreat now!" The alert Devourer quickly moved away from the temporary observation point, his figure flickering repeatedly as he moved.
Those who were not hit also quickly evacuated. The attack had co from over twenty kiloters away, and yet they could not precisely detect what Zheng Yichen was up to; they could only pinpoint his location. Remaining there would an following in the footsteps of the dead.
"Shit, is the durability this bad?" Zheng Yichen saw tiny cracks erge on the weapon in his hand and couldn’t help twitching at the corner of his eye. He had only fired two shots.
"Boss, this weapon can still be used eight tis."
"I’m worried it will explode after two more shots," Zheng Yichen put the weapon back into the weapon case, "The power is indeed fierce. The bullets that co with spatial distortion get stronger with speed. Useful."
As he spoke, he touched the noise pistol he carried, which had the sa enhancent; the effects were likely similar to the bullets fired, only this device didn’t co with an auto-retrieval feature. As cool as throwing it might look, picking it up afterward would be equally awkward.
Zheng Yichen hopped on the bike, and the Sky Pillar roots hanging on the vehicle fell off. The motorcycle accelerated from zero, reaching top speed in an extrely short ti. The scenery ahead twisted as he watched, but the distortion only further increased the speed.
Inside the controlled Wise Dragon Base, alarms rang out. On a map, a large red dot was marked, moving at an extrely fast speed.
Edelson’s eyes widened as he watched the rapidly moving red dot on the map. The damaged Firmant Wheel still served as an eye, like a satellite, monitoring everything nearby. When Zheng Yichen activated the projection camouflage, the monitoring wasn’t very useful, but at full speed, that beca the only anomaly.
Is this speed even possible? Running on the ground, damned faster than a fighter jet?
"Stop him!" Edelson imdiately issued the command. The main control program of Wise Dragon Base had high levels of intelligence. After his order, the damaged Firmant Wheel began to operate, and the charged cannons aid at Zheng Yichen’s charge. However, Zheng Yichen’s route took him through the thinnest areas of the bombardnt coverage.
Although the energy cannons were light cannons, they were not actual beams of light and didn’t travel at the speed of light. In the sparsely bombarded areas, Zheng Yichen wasn’t affected at all. The impact was directly blocked by the spatial distortions around him, and Zheng Yichen felt that even at his current speed, he could take a hit from a light cannon head-on...
"Why not give it a try?" Zheng Yichen glanced back at so of the Sky Pillar roots on the motorcycle, which could act as a backup energy source. Lilith had ntioned the vehicle’s built-in battery again while moving forward. If the built-in battery were more sophisticated, their speed could be further greatly increased.
"BOSS! I don’t recomnd any bold and dangerous ideas at this ti," Lilith stood on the screen of the onboard computer, hands on her hips, her little face all seriousness.
"I’m just saying, there’s a cliff ahead, be careful!" Zheng Yichen said as he looked at the navigational route on the map. He could avoid most of the bombing now, but if he accidentally entered a high-density bombardnt zone, he would have to face it head on without any bold ideas.
Zheng Yichen looked at the distant Firmant Wheel through the distortions around him. Its surface was covered with a faint pale light, with the most prominent Sky Pillar dividing so bands of light that twined around the Firmant Wheel, providing it with energy.
"So my weapons get damaged after a few uses when enhanced, what about the Firmant Wheel? Take a few more rounds—" Zheng Yichen had Lilith adjust the route a bit. Subsequently, the attacks from the Firmant Wheel ceased as well, apparently deciding against continuing such pointless attacks. Then, Zheng Yichen spotted several light points heading his way; they were Devourers.
Not planning to confront the Devourers directly, Zheng Yichen started the motorcycle again: "We can’t afford not to take risks now, we need to go under the Sky Pillar to fight. It’s too passive to fight here."
The Devouring Faction could send people over directly through the Sky Pillar, which seed more convenient than the Boundary Breaking Faction of Great World’s newly mastered ’Descent of God.’ However, after cutting off the Sky Pillar, their anchoring would be broken, and the Devouring Faction would no longer be able to affect this world.
It’s a give and take.
Fighting away from the Sky Pillar is very disadvantageous for him.
The Devourers chasing Zheng Yichen, seeing him willingly plunge into a high-density bombing area, changed their expressions and stopped imdiately. If they followed into the high-density bombing area, they would beco targets as well.

At the center of the bombardnt, the earth cracked, and earthquakes completely altered the terrain near the Sky Pillar. Even the geological structure of the ground couldn’t withstand the bombardnt and collapsed on a large scale, exposing the Sky Pillar roots that spread through the land.
These world-threatening entities, instead, beca the foundations that stabilized the land.
"With the Firmant Wheel and the Sky Pillar’s energy, shattering a continent isn’t difficult. He must have been killed, right?" The Devourers, forced to retreat and evade due to the bombardnt, looked at the area engulfed in light flas and conversed.
They stared at the bombardnt zone, where no existence erged from the main bombing area. The Proxy Agent was trapped inside the bombardnt with nowhere to escape.
No matter how strong the adversary was, survival was impossible. Even if this Proxy Agent counted as the peak existence of this world, a peak existence might completely ignore the normal attacks from several Firmant Wheels, but these attacks were using the Sky Pillar’s energy.
An attack with Sky Pillar’s energy could be understood as outputting nearly real damage. Even the top existences of this world had to be bombarded to death, even gods!
They had used the Sky Pillar’s energy to bombard gods to death before.
Crack—With a loud crash, a Firmant Wheel couldn’t withstand the load and broke in the middle, crashing to the ground and raising a huge storm. The firm Firmant Wheel shattered like glass, and the remaining wheels also couldn’t bear the pressure and broke apart in the storm.
The bombardnt disappeared completely, leaving only a bottomless Abyss where the bombardnt had once been, and from it emanated wailing, as if the planet itself were lanting.
Edelson watched the Abyss that had been bombarded into existence, his eyes narrowing slightly. It seed they’d succeeded in killing the Proxy Agent with heavy firepower, but recalling Zheng Yichen’s resolute rush into the bombing zone, Edelson felt a twinge of unease.
The Proxy Agent wasn’t in such a rush for ti; he could’ve moved around for a few days before taking further action, and the information provided by the Boundary Breaking Faction didn’t describe the Proxy Agent as a reckless fool.
Without the bombardnt, and once the Proxy Agent broke out of the bombing zone, such bombardnt couldn’t be executed, as it might damage the Sky Pillar.
Looking at the Abyss that had been created, Edelson used so ans to probe, but ca up with nothing. The Proxy Agent seed to have completely evaporated in the bombardnt.
"Keep a close watch here. Report any abnormalities imdiately. Anyone who slacks off can look forward to Black Prison," Edelson ordered.
The Devourers receiving the order shuddered, not believing that the Proxy Agent could have survived, but they were terrified of Black Prison.
