Stand-in grass figures, a rather classic item.
The grass figures presented by the Diviners were about the size of a baby, not made of grass or anything, but wood and so leather materials; their refinent far surpassed that of the smaller grass figures made of actual grass.
"This object can help us share the burden of Hell’s influence, protecting us from its effects for four days," Yi Nan said with a hint of regret, "Ten thousand-year gloomy wood is hard to co by; the records tell of even more powerful stand-in dolls that allow their carriers to survive longer in Hell."
"I think your preparation is really thorough," Zheng Yichen focused on this aspect; these Diviners had clearly foreseen such a scenario since they were prepared with these items.
"Hahaha, this thing’s use isn’t limited to countering the effects of Hell; even if we don’t need it now, it can be very useful at other tis," Wei Xue laughed and said. Creating this object wasn’t a loss; though not very convenient to carry, it would be worth its functionality.
And naturally, the preparations for this thing indicate that the Supre Demons have not infrequently moved about in Hell, so preparing this wasn’t about guarding against the unlikely, but a necessary item to have ready, and they even prepared spares.
But Zheng Yichen didn’t need such things, Liu Hongzhao had no use for them either; the two spares were truly for guarding against the absolute unexpected. After all, they couldn’t give those things to a horse, right?
As for the cost of these objects... since it was an expedition to subdue a Supre Demon, cost was not an issue. If they succeeded, the rewards would be enormous; if they failed, they’d et on the rooftop. With everything on the line, who would consider the cost?
"No problems now, we can set off anyti," Yi Nan declared after checking the stand-in dolls.
"Don’t rush, let’s find the right spot," Zheng Yichen said while pulling out another black ring, aligning his Compass with it. Yi Nan took a glance at the information displayed on the Compass and imdiately shook his head.
"This won’t do, it’s too far from our target."
Zheng Yichen looked at the ’runes’ that had lit up on the Compass, which to him seed very close to the center of the Compass, yet the result was too far?
"Then let’s switch again."
Watching Zheng Yichen open several more black rings, Wei Xue promptly asked, "What’s the expenditure for this?"
"Not much."
Then they continued on. As Zheng Yichen’s attempts went on, Yi Nan, looking at the latest information on the Compass, imdiately said, "This will do, let’s go with this one."
The information now displayed on the Compass was very close to the positioning of the Supre Demon. Continuing might find a better spot, but it could also be that there were no better ones available. Prioritizing was important.
"Then let’s go," Zheng Yichen enlarged the black ring before him. He wasn’t very nervous; Supre Demons were special in this world, but what was left of a group of defeated Supre Demons was just that: special. Besides, what great events hadn’t he witnessed? He had observed the end of a world; what were Supre Demons to him...
Hell.
Liu Hongzhao clenched the Supre Demon Weapon in her hand as she felt her discomfort gradually dissipate. The changes brought by the Supre Demon Blood allowed her to adapt to Hell’s influence; even a Supre Demon servant could live normally in Hell.
Not to ntion soone like her with the potential of a Supre Demon. As for Zheng Yichen, he was no longer the naive White of before; even though this environnt was sowhat uncomfortable, the influence of Hell’s environnt on him could be ignored.
Most importantly, the fishing rod in his hand had been fused with a branch from the Tree of Death, which gave the fishing rod the effect of a stand-in doll; he too quickly adapted to the environnt of Hell.
The four Diviners here appeared even more weakened, yet they still forced themselves to seem as though nothing was amiss. Zheng Yichen saw through his thermal vision a variety of ’heat sources’, and since he could see heat sources, he could naturally discern the corresponding ’cold currents’.
In Hell, such abnormal ’cold currents’ were pervasive, which naturally flowed around Liu Hongzhao but would collide to so extent with Zheng Yichen as they passed by. However, these collisions had no effect on him.
The collisions the Diviners encountered were more intense, but the erosive cold current from the impact was absorbed by the stand-in dolls they carried with them. Even so, a small amount of ’cold current’ remained in their bodies.
They were truly fighting desperately.
Withdrawing his gaze, he looked at the Compass in his hand, which turned slowly. Upon arriving in Hell, the device beca much more responsive, as if it had been oiled. Sothing that cost the four Diviners nearly half their lives to create couldn’t be too shoddy.
"This place must be related to the Wolf God," said Wei Xue, picking up a clump of hair from the ground and examining it. "The Wolf God, among the Supre Demons, belongs to the cruel and cunning type."
Among the Supre Demons, there are those who enjoy scheming and cunning maneuvers. The Wolf God, for instance, appears when people are in despair and cruelly kills them off, whereas the Snake God, though also cunning, prefers to make people despair and self-destruct without directly intervening.
One Supre Demon revels in the sensation of reaping lives by hand, while the other enjoys watching the madness and self-destruction that ensues from human despair.
The nas of Supre Demons... have been lost a long ti ago. The Supre Demons erased their true nas, apparently because they had been aggressively targeted in ancient tis due to the leakage of their true nas.
"As long as we can pinpoint the location, it doesn’t matter which Supre Demon it is," Zheng Yichen said, looking at so figures in the distance. It was a ’camp’ the size of a city, surrounded by a large number of the undead, along with mingled Supre Demon servants.
The wolf-head-like wolf demons reminded Zheng Yichen of the werewolves he had encountered, though they were not quite the sa; any one of them seed more formidable than those he had previously t.
Katrina’s world environnt was relatively low back then.
So wolf demons were selecting wandering undead. Those deed suitable were directly captured and thrown into a boiling blood pool, the edges of which were marked with ’runes’ that Zheng Yichen could not comprehend, and there were pillars like totem poles.
This must be the modified blood pool the Asura Demon had ntioned to Zheng Yichen, a blood pool that could transform and produce new Supre Demon servants.
So of the undead thrown into the blood pool dissolved directly within it, while others struggled and transford, with their heads and bodies taking on the appearance of those wolf demons. So were strong and so were weak; the strong were taken away by higher status wolf demons, while the weak were kicked aside.
"Does being thrown into the blood pool and transford an the Supre Demon servants are revived?" Zheng Yichen asked as he watched the new wolf demons.
Yi Nan explained, "It’s more like reincarnation. The blood pools of Hell involve the cycle of life and death."
"Then couldn’t they just keep cycling through this way?" Zheng Yichen wanted to fish sothing out of the blood pool to take back. He was unclear about it, but he knew many teams behind him could research such matters.
Yi Nan shook his head, "Of course not. Although the Supre Demon servants beco new undead upon death, being originally from the demonic tribe and dying as such, the likelihood of them being transford back into their own kind is slim. Transforming back into other demonic tribes would only result in their souls dispersing."
"Whether there are exceptions, I’m not sure. The records on this topic are scarce. Perhaps if a Supre Demon took action personally, it might avoid this issue."
Their conversation ended there, as a patrol of wolf demons approached.
