Nana had a clear premonition. Even if she activated her ultimate state, "Above the Heavens and Below the Earth, Only I Am Supre," she still might not be able to defeat Lucien.
At best, it would end in mutual destruction.
Right now, she had only one option left.
Abandon the mission and return to the Main God Space.
Escape was impossible. As long as she remained on Earth, she would be found sooner or later. More importantly, she did not believe Lucien would give her ti to run, especially with Saitama present.
If Saitama were not here, she would never retreat.
But reality was different.
Between Lucien's terrifying transformation and Saitama's overwhelming strength, she had no path to victory.
Returning to the Main God Space would cost her everything, but it would at least preserve her life.
Her exchange points would be gone, and her lifespan would likely drop to its lowest point.
Staying ant death.
Leaving ant survival at a heavy cost.
Nana made her choice.
Only those who knew when to retreat could live long enough to rise again.
As long as she was alive, everything she lost could be reclaid.
"You are truly an idiot."
Her body began to dissolve into particles of light. Her gaze shifted from Lucien to Saitama, filled with cold killing intent.
If not for him, she would not have been forced into this situation like a stray dog fleeing for its life.
"Trying to leave?"
Lucien reacted instantly, stepping forward and reaching out.
His hand passed through empty air.
He had not expected her to be this decisive, abandoning everything without hesitation.
Just as Nana had predicted, as long as she stayed on Earth, Lucien would eventually track her down. With Saitama around, he had no fear of her resistance.
Still, he had underestimated her resolve.
"Damn it!"
Lucien's expression darkened as the last particles of light vanished.
A prize that had been within his grasp was gone.
What he did not realize was that Nana had paid a far greater price than he imagined.
Lucien imdiately released his Observation Haki, spreading it across the planet like an invisible net.
Half the Earth, then all of it.
Nothing.
Not even a trace remained.
Ten minutes later, he withdrew his senses, frustration evident in his eyes.
She was completely gone.
"Should we go back?"
Saitama stood nearby, casually picking his nose, already back to his usual indifferent self.
Lucien glanced at him, his eyes burning with intent.
"Want to fight ?"
He needed to test his strength. The surging Ki inside him still lacked proper control, and combat was the fastest way to stabilize it.
"No, thanks."
Saitama refused without hesitation.
However, that refusal did not last long.
In the end, Lucien paid the price of thirty hotpot als.
The battle that followed shook the solar system. The destruction rivaled the earlier clash between Nana and Saitama.
This ti, Jupiter was completely destroyed.
Lucien did not use his battle the ability. Even though he had died once, its cooldown had not reset.
The outco was predictable.
He lost.
Once again, his rising arrogance was crushed.
At the sa ti, he realized sothing ridiculous.
Saitama could hold his breath for an absurd amount of ti.
Lucien even suspected that if Earth were destroyed, Saitama could survive in space for months, maybe even years.
By dusk, the two stood in what used to be Z-City.
Now, it was nothing more than a barren valley.
Mosquito Girl and Beast King were nearby, covered in dust, bent over as they struggled to catch their breath.
During the earlier battle, Saitama had sent them far away. Otherwise, they would have been wiped out by the aftermath.
"Boss, Mr. Saitama!"
Mosquito Girl steadied herself, her breathing gradually returning to normal.
"Our ho is gone."
Saitama looked around blankly.
There was nothing left. No buildings, no streets, just ruins stretching endlessly.
"We'll just move sowhere else," Lucien said calmly, a cigarette hanging from his lips. His face still carried a hint of fatigue.
Ti passed.
O-City, an inland tropolis that was once prosperous, now lay half in ruins. It was not the only one. Across the planet, major cities had suffered massive destruction.
So had been completely erased by earthquakes and tsunamis.
Those that remained were simply fortunate.
The Earth itself was now scarred beyond recognition.
A month passed since the battle that was later called the God War.
The planet continued to tremble intermittently.
"Here it goes again."
In the west district of O-City, inside a modest apartnt, Saitama held a ga controller. As the building shook, his expression showed nothing but boredom and mild annoyance.
Mosquito Girl and Beast King carried on with their activities, watching shows and flipping through magazines.
They were used to it by now.
anwhile, far from the city, deep within a mountain range, Lucien sat cross-legged inside a secluded base.
His eyes were closed.
Golden-white energy flowed around him, his hair and brows glowing faintly.
"It's almost done."
Three minutes later, Lucien opened his eyes and exhaled slowly.
The energy faded.
His hair, brows, and eyes returned to normal, revealing his natural athyst gaze.
After a full month of ditation, he had finally gained basic control over his new power.
"This form really does resemble Super Saiyan."
Every ti he thought about it, the comparison felt accurate.
He did not know the exact power level of that transformation, but one thing was certain.
He could now destroy Earth effortlessly.
Not by targeting its core, but by completely erasing it.
He nad this state Life Evolution Phase One.
If there was a first stage, there would be a second, maybe even a third.
If this level matched Super Saiyan 1, then based on his observations, Saitama was at least at the level of Super Saiyan 2.
Possibly even higher.
No matter how he analyzed it, he still could not defeat him.
That fact irritated him.
Worse, he had not found any trace of Nana over the past month.
Which ant she was either completely gone, or hiding far beyond his reach.
But that did not an he had no targets left.
V-City.
Like O-City, it bore the scars of destruction.
Inside a luxurious restaurant on the thirty-third floor of a skyscraper, a woman sat elegantly by the window.
Sykos.
Dressed in a strapless gown, white glasses resting on her nose, she calmly enjoyed her al while overlooking the city below.
Far beneath the building, hidden underground, a secret laboratory housed advanced technology.
On an experintal platform lay the Evil Eye, motionless, either asleep or in a dormant state.
"Look, what is that?"
"Oh my god, it's floating!"
"That's incredible!"
The chatter spread across the restaurant as guests gathered near the windows.
Sykos frowned slightly, annoyed by the disturbance. She had chosen this place for its quiet atmosphere.
Then she looked up.
Clang.
Her knife and fork slipped from her hands, striking the plate.
Her face turned pale instantly.
Outside the window, thirty-three ters above the ground, Lucien stood suspended in midair.
His eyes locked onto hers.
With his current strength, finding soone on Earth was no longer difficult.
Ki perception alone functioned like a radar, detecting energy signatures as points of light.
But when combined with Observation Haki, that radar beca a clear image.
Everything within range was visible in detail.
And if he had morized the target's aura, tracking them beca effortless.
Sykos had once relied on her concealnt thods to evade detection.
Now, those thods were aningless.
In Lucien's eyes, she might as well have been standing completely exposed.
