The wind howled softly as Sai and his companions moved through the jagged mountain pass, the sun a faint, dying glow behind a **veil of grey clouds**. The light barely touched the ground, smothered by the ever-present **mist of the Abyss**, which lingered **heavily in the air** like a fog that refused to break.

The jagged peaks stretched endlessly on either side, towering spires of stone **jagged and broken**, cracked by centuries of exposure to abyssal energy. Dark veins of corrupted rock **glimred faintly**, still pulsating with the remnants of old magic—**traces of battles long forgotten.**

And yet—**Sai felt nothing.**

No fear.

No hesitation.

Because the **Abyss walked with him.**

The black mist **coiled softly around his boots**, trailing faintly behind him with every step. It **moved with him**, fluid and natural, as if it were a living part of his shadow. His golden abyssal eyes flickered softly, dim flas of fire reflected faintly in the shifting mist.

He didn’t have to **command it** anymore.

It simply **obeyed.**

And yet—he could **feel it.**

Sothing deep, old, and **hungry** moving beneath the surface of his power.

It wasn’t fighting him.

But it wasn’t **tad, either.**

And sohow—**he knew.**

It never would be.

### **The Path of No Return**

Ezren walked ahead, his dagger drawn, **silent and watchful**. His golden abyssal eyes flickered faintly as he scanned the narrow pass, every motion **calculated and fluid**, like a predator **sensing blood** in the wind.

Kael followed at Sai’s side, his massive greatsword **resting against his shoulder**, but his hand **never left the hilt.** His golden eyes narrowed faintly, shifting to glance at Sai now and then—**guarded but steady.**

Lena walked slightly behind Sai.

Her **arms were crossed** over her chest, her hood pulled low over her face, but Sai could feel her eyes on him.

**Watching.**

**Waiting.**

She hadn’t spoken much since the confrontation at the ruins. She kept her distance—not far enough to be absent, but **far enough to be apart.**

Sai could feel the **weight of it** between them.

The unspoken distance.

The raw, **lingering uncertainty.**

And he hated it.

But he didn’t **slow down.**

Because if he did—**he knew he might not keep walking.**

---

### **The Abyss Hungers**

As they moved deeper into the mountain pass, Sai felt it again.

The faint **pull** on the edge of his senses.

A **gate.**

No, not a gate.

Sothing **older.**

**Deeper.**

A fissure in the very fabric of the Abyss itself.

And **it was close.**

The mist around Sai **stirred violently**, almost **restless**. It clung faintly to the broken stone, the jagged rocks pulsing with residual energy.

Ezren ca to a stop at the narrowest point of the pass. He lifted a hand slightly, signaling for them to halt.

His eyes **narrowed.**

"You feel that?" he asked softly.

Kael let out a low grunt. His fingers **tightened around his sword**, his voice low.

"Yeah."

Lena shifted slightly, her fingers brushing against her chakrams. Her voice was barely above a whisper.

"It’s not a gate, is it?"

Ezren shook his head once, golden eyes sharp.

"No." He turned toward Sai, his gaze narrowing slightly. **"What is it?"**

Sai didn’t answer right away.

Because he **didn’t know.**

Not fully.

But he could **feel it.**

The Abyss inside him **knew**.

And as he exhaled slowly, the mist around his boots **coiled sharply**, slithering outward like a living thing.

He closed his eyes, letting the **Abyss flow through him**, allowing it to reach beyond his senses.

And then—**he saw it.**

A fissure, deep beneath the mountains.

**Not a gate.**

Not a dungeon.

Sothing **older**.

A tear in the very fabric of reality—a **wound in the world** itself.

And **sothing was coming through.**

Sai’s eyes **snapped open.**

"Sothing’s coming," he muttered sharply, his voice low but certain.

Ezren’s eyes **hardened slightly**, his dagger flickering faintly with abyssal fire.

Kael rolled his shoulders, his massive greatsword pulsing with golden energy as he **shifted into a fighting stance.**

Lena’s fingers **tightened around her chakrams**, her eyes narrowing.

"Where?" she asked softly.

Sai’s golden eyes **flickered faintly**, the black mist **whirling softly** around his feet.

And when he spoke, his voice was **low and steady.**

"Everywhere."

---

### **The Beasts of the Abyss**

The fissure **erupted violently.**

A wave of **raw abyssal energy** surged upward, cracking the jagged stone, splintering the pass into fractured shards of rock.

The ground **shuddered violently** beneath their feet, and a massive **black claw** burst from the fissure, **ripping into reality** itself.

Sai’s eyes **flashed.**

And then—**they ca.**

The **first beast crawled through**, its form twisting and shifting violently, as if reality itself was **rejecting its presence.**

It was unlike any dungeon monster they had faced before.

No scales.

No fur.

No form.

Just **shifting, writhing darkness**—a **vortex of claws and shadow**, its limbs constantly **reforming and dissolving**, as if it couldn’t fully exist in this world.

Golden abyssal eyes **flashed within the mist**, soulless and hollow.

And behind it—**more ca.**

Dozens of them.

Creatures that had been **sealed beyond the Abyss**, now **crawling free** into the world.

Their **claws tore into the stone**, rending the jagged mountains apart as they **poured through the fissure.**

The mountain pass **exploded with chaos.**

And **the battle began.**

---

### **The Fight for Reality**

Ezren **moved first.**

His dagger **flickered with golden-black fire**, and he **vanished**, blinking through the mist in a blur of motion. His blade **sliced cleanly through the first creature**, and for a brief mont, **it flickered violently**—caught between existence and oblivion.

Then—it **collapsed into mist.**

But **more ca.**

Kael’s greatsword **roared with abyssal fire** as he swung it in a brutal, sweeping arc, **shattering a line of creatures** in a single strike.

Their **bodies rippled violently**, limbs dissolving into mist, only to reform a heartbeat later.

Lena’s **chakrams blazed**, slicing through the shifting creatures, her strikes **precise and rapid**, cutting through the darkness before they could **solidify.**

But there were **too many.**

For every beast they cut down, **two more crawled free.**

And Sai could **feel it.**

The fissure **was still spreading.**

The mountain pass was **cracking apart**, splintering into jagged pieces, as more creatures **tore through reality.**

It wasn’t going to stop.

Not until they were **gone.**

And **they were losing.**

Sai’s chest **tightened faintly**, the black mist **coiling violently** around his limbs.

And for a brief mont—**he hesitated.**

Because he knew what he had to do.

And he knew what it would **cost him.**

His golden eyes **flickered faintly**, the mist **clinging tighter** to his body.

And then—**he let go.**

---

### **The Abyss Answers**

The mont Sai **stopped holding back**, the Abyss **surged violently.**

The mist around him **roared to life**, black tendrils exploding outward in a violent storm. The fractured stone **cracked beneath his boots**, splintering violently as the ground **shook with the force of his power.**

His golden abyssal eyes **blazed violently**, and the mist **obeyed without question.**

It **swallowed the first wave of creatures**, devouring them whole.

They **writhed violently**, but they didn’t scream.

Because **they couldn’t.**

Not here.

Not against him.

The mist **coiled violently**, **ripping them apart**, dissolving their forms into **pure nothingness.**

The fissure **cracked wider**, but Sai didn’t stop.

He **pushed forward**, the Abyss **moving with him**, his shadow **warping into claws of black fire**, tearing through the creatures **like a storm of darkness.**

And the Abyss—**his Abyss—followed him.**

Because it no longer belonged to the **gates.**

It no longer belonged to the **throne.**

It **belonged to him.**

And this ti—

**It knew no master but him.**
