Ignorance was a sin.

Alex thought this as he stepped out of the black pool free of the injuries doled out to him by Aiden’s rciless fists.

In a world rife with mysteries, knowledge represented a major facet of strength with those more knowledgeable holding the upper hand and as it was, Alex understood that the upper hand was quite far from him.

Taking a deep breath, he put on a bathrobe as he pondered the ways his actions might have led to an untily death.

To think that he planned to keep moving forward on his quest despite his ager knowledge.

At this rate, he may end up killing himself before completing his mission.

He considered completely doing away with the Blessings of the Dark Moon as it no longer held much of use apart from boosting his healing factor but that in itself was a plus.

It was regrettable that it could no longer be used as he’d hoped, as a ans to keep tabs on his subordinates.

Regardless, he didn’t allow it to weigh down too much on him.

Since one way had closed, he’d need to consider other alternatives.

Without it, the other mbers of Constellations would be susceptible to manipulations, a situation he wished to avoid.

Letting out a sigh, he made his way to his room.

Though a desire to head to Victoria’s library remained as a need to expand on his knowledge sprang up, Alex understood a need for a work/rest balance.

He was exhausted physically, ntally and spiritually.

If he wished to continue functioning properly, a full 8 hours of rest was required.

Once he awoke, he planned to visit Albus.

Perhaps it was ti to deepen his relationship with the TruthSeekers.

But that was for later, for now, rest was needed.

So as he lay in his bed, he let go of all thoughts, instead basking in the mories of those waiting for him on Earth.

Hopefully, he would never have to part with them.

***

Lestat stood rooted in place, too shocked to say a word as he watched Victoria and the others approach.

To think that the great Silver Knights, monsters that had reigned supre during the Dark Ages would be dispatched so easily... it made no sense.

The very reason his sire Gregory had gotten him to awaken a Silver Knight contingent was precisely because he wanted the best hands on the job to capture the Envoy.

Yet despite their efforts, the Silver Knights Captain now lay on the grass, headless while his n had been transported to sowhere unknown.

If they could be so easily defeated, what gave him a chance at survival?

Terror threatened to set upon him but his sense of duty overpowered it.

His sire Gregory had commanded him, to either co back with the Envoy or don’t co back at all.

So, could he dare to run away?... Of course not!

So without hesitation, he unleashed his Will, causing the aether to ripple in response.

On seeing this, Victoria was just about to mock him for attempting to fight them only for a sudden emptiness to envelope her senses.

A series of groans rang out behind her causing her to glance back just in ti to find the others once again bleeding profusely.

"He has withdrawn his Blessings," Victoria muttered, her expression twisted as pain accompanied by complicated emotions wracked her senses.

Seeing them in such a state, Lestat didn’t hesitate to act as he summoned nurous blood weapons and sent them rushing toward Victoria and the others.

Elena gritted her teeth despite the pain eating her up as she reached out and ford a fist, creating a golden box that separated their position from the physical dinsion.

The weapons struck behind them, leaving them untouched and Lestat shocked.

"Space?... But the Dragons of Space are extinct. So how?"

Elena snorted. "You don’t expect to answer, right?"

At the sa ti, Nadia muttered.

Denyen

Instantly, their injuries faded, leaving not even a scar behind.

Realizing he’d lost his chance to swiftly end them, Lestat ford a pair of bloody wings and flew into the air before raising his hand, causing a red cloud to form overhead.

As bloody rain fell, the ground smoked as though touched by acid but still, mbers of Constellations remained untouched.

Lestat never felt as impotent as he did at this mont as Elena sneered at him.

Even though he was stronger than her based on the difference in latent power, it made no difference when he couldn’t even hit her in the first place.

"This is perhaps the first ti I have seen the offensive nature of Blood countered so thoroughly." Victoria couldn’t help but confess in slight amusent.

"But we can’t stay here forever, right?" Arwen inquired while rubbing her chest, it seed the sensation of being stabbed still lingered.

"That is correct so as of this mont, we are starting our next hunt with Lestat as the prey to be caught," Victoria remarked calmly. "Let’s begin."

Nadia glanced at Douglas who t her gaze and nodded.

The next mont... Abrogatio

Lestat sensed sothing as he imdiately turned but it was too late as Douglas hastened his fist with Motion, landing a blow that sent the Duke flying back to the ground.

A crater ford as Lestat slamd into the earth, a dust cloud impairing his vision for a mont, an opportunity Constellations utilized as Elena appeared before him.

His danger senses scread as he had seen what she’d done with the Silver Knights.

He didn’t hesitate to detonate his blood, forcing Elena to back away to avoid damage.

As he got back to his feet, he imdiately sensed sothing causing him to turn but he was too late.

Puchi

A stake pierced his chest, rely inches away from his heart.

"You are fast," Lucia remarked with a mischievous grin while Lestat grimaced.

"Sneaky bitch."

"Finish him now!" Lucia exclaid, causing Lestat to lose his cool.

He imdiately tried to detonate himself again, this ti utilizing all the blood in his body.

He’d already sensed that Lucia wasn’t alone so the current circumstances dictated that he either flee or die.

Knowing that fleeing would be the sa as delivering Victoria to the Bloodrose nobles, he decided to destroy everything.

If I can’t have it, no one can!

With that understanding, he made to set things into motion only to pause, a strange sensation he’d never felt before rushing through his blood at that mont.

The next mont, he coughed up blood mixed with pus.

Sensing sothing, Lucia imdiately backed away with others doing so as well.

"What’s happening?" Lestat inquired as he reached into his chest and pulled out a mass of malford flesh.

Tossing out the mass, he reached inside and took out another and another but no matter how many he took out, the cells within continued to proliferate at a remarkable rate until...

"Fuck."

His body ripped apart, rapidly transforming into a tree with a fleshy exterior covered in blood and pus with bony branches that held fruits resembling boils.

The pungent sll of the Abyss erupted a mont later.
