It started as a tingling sensation before quickly morphing into sothing akin to an unreachable itch, leaving Alex less than pleased as he set Ana down on her bed.

What’s worse, apart from the itch, a vague lightheadedness threatened to assail his senses, leaving him without a clear mind.

His expression, twisted in faint annoyance, quickly discovered the source of the upsetting sensation as he reached out to Victoria.

"What is happening?"

"Nadia and Elena have been wounded, sa with . Douglas and Arwen are about to join us."

"Hmm." Alex furrowed his brows.

To think that even now, they would still require his aid.

It was quite disappointing.

"I’m on my way." He muttered as he stepped out of Ana’s room, prid to snap only for Victoria to respond.

"No, Master!... Please, let us handle this."

Alex paused. "I presu from your report that the situation is not good at all."

"It isn’t but you sent myself and the others out for this very purpose. If we always need your aid in combat, we won’t be subordinates but rather a burden. I do not want that."

"So what do you suggest?"

"We shall handle the situation."

"And if anyone dies?"

"Then let them. They knew this path was dangerous when they decided to take it." Victoria coldly remarked.

Alex sighed.

She did have a point.

He couldn’t continue to chaperone them as had been the case in the past.

He needed a team, not baggage so perhaps this was necessary.

The situation they were in served as a checkpoint; those who managed to survive would be ready to continue the next phase, and those who didn’t... It would be quite unfortunate.

"Fine then, do what you want. I have other things to worry about."

With that, he turned off Mindscape while massaging his temples to get rid of the lightheadedness he was experiencing.

He’d have to punish Victoria for utilizing Evernight if she managed to survive whatever was happening on their end.

Letting out a sigh, he decided to focus on other pressing matters as he made his way to the basent of the castle.

His conversation with Aiden had been quite resourceful, providing much-needed knowledge for his journey moving forward.

It also reminded him of a few things he might have missed due to circumstances.

Feeling impatient, he snapped, disappearing in a flash of black and white before once again appearing, quickly finding himself before a stone door.

He reached to the side and pushed in a slab of stone, causing the stone door to slide open, revealing an expansive cavern within.

An incredibly large stone with uneven surfaces floated at the center of the cavern, illuminating the natural structure in a golden radiance.

Looking around, Alex scanned for anything out of place while poised to snap at the first sign of trouble.

Thankfully there was nothing.

He’d feared that because there was no suppressive factor, the presence of Ashtyx in the cavern would lead to... what had they called it again?... Ah yes, Light Stealers.

However, he didn’t completely keep his guard down as he understood that if not now, that doesn’t an it won’t happen later.

He needed to make preparations for suppressive ans to ensure it did not turn Victoria’s castle into a structure akin to the Labyrinth of Dread the Mantle had created in Popolis.

With that in mind, he turned and left, closing the stone door as he did.

"Is he coming?" Ichabod, Captain of the Silver Knights 12th Division, knelt beside Victoria, his gaze reflecting no sense of wariness despite being close enough to have his heart ripped out.

Of course, it was understandable.

Even though he had only been revived roughly 2 days ago, he’d had his fill of blood and under the crimson light of the Nighteye, he’d managed to regain a good percentage of the power he had during the Dark Ages.

Such a man would cause even Monarch Gregory trouble should they be pitted against each other in mortal combat.

So what was a ager Victoria to him?... In their current state, perhaps only one Silver Knight was needed to wipe out all mbers of the Constellations currently present.

In any case, Victoria made no effort to respond as she glanced back, finding that Douglas and Arwen had been impaled as well.

It was a rather grueso sight even for a Vampire like her.

"I asked a question," Ichabod muttered as he took hold of her jaw and pulled her gaze back to his disgustingly handso mug.

Victoria managed a bloody grin. "The Dark Lord does not need weak allies. If I cannot protect myself, then I have no reason to be his Envoy."

"Is that so?" Ichabod replied in faint amusent. "If you have really accepted your death, why do I detect plans formulating in your mind?... Co on, child, be a bit more creative. Your mind is an open book for ."

Victoria’s expression shifted slightly causing Ichabod to chuckle.

"Fine then, since you won’t tell him to co here, I’ll be more than happy to go to him."

The next mont, Ichabod unleashed his will, utilizing Psionics to establish a painful connection to Victoria’s mind.

However, the first thing he saw in her mories was an eye, one so alien, it shouldn’t exist.

Ichabod couldn’t even scream as his head exploded into a bloody ss, having comprehended sothing he shouldn’t have.

This took the other Silver Knights by surprise as they imdiately tried to act but Douglas was faster as a black and white circle erged on his forehead.

He unleashed his will, manipulating Motion to rapidly pull himself out of the spear that had impaled him before running right through a Knight.

What followed next was quite horrific as Douglas’s flesh ripped and tore with his bones shattering while the Knight he’d hit exploded in a grueso ss of flesh and entrails like he’d been struck by a cannonball.

The others moved to strike him down but then there was a golden flash and the scenery changed.

Instead of a luscious forest illuminated by crimson, they found themselves in an expansive desert with no end in sight.

"That’s for stabbing ," Elena remarked in a hoarse tone while clutching the spear still impaling her, a black and white circle present on her forehead.

The Vampires tried to rush her but she was gone quicker than they could run, leaving them trapped in Purgatory.

Before they could begin to figure out ways to head back, a nacing voice muttered from behind.
