Chapter 40

"Kaizen, are you talking with soone?" His mother’s voice echoed from outside the door as she knocked softly.

Kaizen tensed as he turned towards the door. He didn’t talk loudly so how did she hear?

"Talking to soone? What do you an?" He asked, feigning ignorance. He turned back to where Iroh was supposed to be seated, but he was gone.

Just like that? He could’ve at least said goodbye.

"Can I co in?" Elen requested from behind the door. She usually always ca to check on him before bed ti.

Kaizen hurriedly lay back down and pulled the bed cover over his body, pretending like he’d been laying down all along. "Yes."

The wooden door creaked open as Elen walked in, her eyes scanning the room briefly before looking back at Kaizen. "I’m sure I heard you talking, or maybe i heard wrong?" She asked, scratching her head in confusion.

"I definitely don’t have a ghost in my room that I would have been talking to so—you did hear wrong."

Elen squinted as she observed Kaizen, searching for any visible injuries he could have gotten from the raid.

"No need to stare that hard, I’m fine." He reassured her, knowing exactly why she wasn’t taking her eyes off him.

"You always say you’re fine even when you’re not, so shut up and let decide for my self. Get up and walk around." Elen ordered, dragging the bed cover off his body.

Kaizen groaned in frustration, but he obeyed.

"See? I told you I’m fine." He said, spreading his arms wide as he turned around and walked several steps for her to see. And it was only then Elen sighed in relief.

"Sleep well okay? I and your dad are also going to bed." She said finally before heading out of his room and closing the door behind her.

Flynn sat quietly beside a burning fire, his eyes blank as he stared at nothingness.

"Master, how do we proceed from now?" A soft voice asked from behind him. she was tall built with blond flowing hair, her face tender but at the sa ti, stern.

Flynn turned to her, silent for a mont before finally getting up and slowly walking up to her. She tensed, her face heating up as he ca closer.

Flynn reached where she stood, his eyes softened as he leaned closer, his thumb tilting her chin to look up at him. She was tall but he was still taller.

"We slowly rise to the top." He whispered quietly, his lips curling into a smirk, "Have you dealt with the bodies?" He asked, leaning even closer, making her breath hitch and her heart race from how close their faces were. She could already feel his breath on her face.

"Y—yes, there’s nothing left." She breathed, her hands clenched at her sides as she forced the urge to grab him and pull him even closer.

"Good job, you’ve helped a lot Liz, tell ...what do you want for your reward?" He asked, his thumb brushing over her lips softly. They were soft and rosy, extrely seductive like they were calling him to ravage them, and goodness he wanted to.

"I just want to keep serving you master. Would you let ?" She wanted nothing but to remain with him, by his side, assisting and helping him. He had saved her from her previous master, a monster she would call him, she was finally free from years of bondage, and she was willing to do anything to repay him.

Liz, full na Elizabeth was the first and only friend Flynn made since coming here. She was an assassin working for Fla, but sohow...he managed to gain her trust and win her over to his side, and she was also in full support of his plans.

Over ti, he sohow developed feelings for her but couldn’t bring himself to tell her, because he knew that no matter how high he rose or how many things he managed to achieve, he’d be nothing more than a filthy begger to them all, his new allies and subordinates. They might not say it in his presence but he knew they said words behind his back.

The only reason he was able win them over was because he promised them freedom after he took over leadership, turns out they were all being treated like human garbage during their ti working for all the officials. He promised them he’d kill their masters and grant them freedom, at first they didn’t believe him, wondering how a nobody like him could have the power to defeat six high rankers. They were all S-rank, extrely powerful and experienced.

Until he told them the real reason he was brought here and what they planned to do with him. He wouldn’t boast about it but he could proudly say he was soone outspoken and could easily persuade others with just words.

He perfected that during the years he spent under their training. Fla had made sure to train him like so noble, all the etiquettes and rules he had to abide by. He also went through grueso combat training that prepared his body from the power they planned to give him.

Well, he was greatful for all that, and for this power he now possessed, right now...he had beco the strongest Hunter to exist, he was untouchable, he was supre, and he could beco sothing more than a filthy begger everyone saw him to be.

"Liz," he breathed, "just call by my na."

"Flynn." She whispered, the warm sound sending a jolt straight to his d*ck. Her voice was smooth, almost hypnotizing.

He quickly pulled away, turning around and stopping himself just in ti. If he had remained in that position for any mont longer, he would have crossed the line and done sothing he would regret.

"You really want to serve ?" He asked, still wanting to confirm if she ant what she said.

"Yes." She replied firmly.

"Then get ready, we’re heading out on an adventure tomorrow. Let show you what you’ve been missing."

He had just one plan in mind, beco a hunter, start low and slowly rise up, and eventually...introduce himself to the world with an amazing display everyone will live to rember.
