"Father, things are difficult. I need your help in this." Collin's hoarse voice replied.
Owen had a frown on his face after he heard what Collins had said. For Collins to be given the chance to take over the position of the family head, it was obvious that he possessed incredible capabilities.
So, for him to say that the task that he had been given was quite difficult, then there had to be sothing wrong.
"What is the problem?" Owen asked impatiently. He couldn't believe that they were facing trouble in almost every direction. It was not just a matter of the family businesses being attacked, but, even the agreent that they were supposed to fulfill was bringing trouble.
Even though he had already gotten information that the Smith family was also suffering the sa fate as them, there was none of them that could relate the problems that they were facing to the marriage agreent.
"Father, Bruce's daughter has been engaged to soone." Collins said in a low voice. He knew that the mont that his father ca to know sothing like this, there was definitely going to be trouble.
"What engagent? Please tell that I didn't hear you right!" Owen's face darkened when he heard Collins' words. His breathing suddenly beca heavy.
"My niece has gotten engaged to soone." Collins replied once again.
"Stupid idiot. I have already heard you! So better start telling the reason as to why things are getting hard! Isn't it just a simple thing to annul the engagent?" Owen shouted in anger.
"That is the problem. The engagent is the one that cannot be easily annulled. Bruce doesn't want to annul the engagent, and neither does my niece nor the person that she is engaged to." Collins replied after a mont of silence.
"Humph! I knew it! Ever since that Bruce left the family, it was obvious that he was going to go against it. But look at you, you have always been trying to make sure that he doesn't co back to the family. But what is it now? He allowed the daughter that was supposed to be married to soone else to be engaged!" Owen scowled.
Collins remained silent because he knew what his father had said was true. He was the one who had always been trying to make sure that Bruce was not recalled into the family.
Bruce had decided that he was not going to live in the family, simply because he did not want to be involved in the sches and plots that were running rampant in the family.
Since Bruce was the one who had helped him to secure the position of the next family head, Collins thought that he was supposed to cover for Bruce. He had to ensure that Bruce also got the life that he wanted.
"Humph! What is the background of the person that is engaged to my granddaughter?" When he noticed that Collins was not going to reply, Owen snorted before asking.
Although he wanted to berate Collin's further, he knew what was important at the mont. So, he had to know about the background of the person that they were facing this ti. The problem that they were facing this ti had already given him a lesson.
"It is a young man called Jack. His background is hidden completely, and there's nothing that I can find even after a long period of investigation. Additionally, I have only recently gotten to know that he is part of the military." Collins replied.
"Just that? Being part of the military doesn't make that person worthy of being arrogant. How influential is our family? Use the family's influence to look for more information about that person. The marriage agreent has to be upheld no matter what." Owen replied discontentedly.
"I have already used the family influence and investigated the military. But, the only information that I have co to get all this while is that, this young man is actually a major in the military." Collins replied.
Even as he said these words, he himself couldn't believe it. How could it be possible that a young man like Jack was actually holding such an important position in the military?
Since his family was so influential, it was obvious that he knew about how the military was run. And for that reason, he was sure that there was no way that they were going to give him such an important position just because of connections that he possessed.
That ant that, Jack had earned the position using his efforts and strength. He must have done sothing that was ritorious enough for him to deserve that position.
Otherwise, it was not just those that held the sa position that were going to disagree about the matter, but even those that were going to be directly underneath him were not going to agree to it.
Of course, Collins did not know that currently, Jack did not possess even a single subordinate. Although he could order anyone in the military that was present in the central province, as long as it was sothing that went against the rule, that particular soldier had the option to refuse.

"Have you asked Bruce about it? He should have already known that his daughter is very important. How can he allow the engagent to occur?" Owen asked after a mont of silence.
"I asked. And, contrary to my expectations, he is even supporting the engagent between the two of them." Collins replied helplessly.
"Leave this matter to . I will know what to do about it." Owen replied with his eyes flashing with the cruel glint. In the next mont, he hung up the phone.
At the sa ti, he couldn't help but say to himself, 'This is so much troubleso. Had I not been so strict and handed over the position to Collins, perhaps I might have been the one who would be scolding him, telling him to ensure that he found out the cause of the problem. But now that I am the current family head, everything is on . Sigh!'

Back in Kartu city, Collins placed the phone on the table after releasing a sigh of relief.
Until this mont, he did not know anything about what was going on back at the family. Due to the fact that he had been busy investigating Jack, he had decided to block any information that ca from the family.
The reason behind this was due to the fact that, he didn't want the mission that had been given to him to be taken away by soone else. By feigning ignorance, he hoped that he would be given enough ti to deal with the matter.
During the past days, he had been trying to look for information, well at the sa ti keeping an eye on Eugene. But, all this while, he had not seen Eugene making any big move.
This was completely against his expectations. After all, from the way that he knew Eugene, he was sure that Eugene would have already made his moves.
And at this mont, Collins asked himself, 'Could it be that this boy Jack possesses imnse background? Otherwise, how can it be possible that Eugene hasn't made a move at all? Additionally, there's no possibility of his information literally getting wiped from the system, even if he is part of the military.'
At this mont, Walter who was his aide ca into the room with a disturbed expression on his face.
"What is it now? I hope that it is not information from ho." Collins asked.
Walter's expression shifted for a mont, before he finally hardened his heart and replied, "Collins, this is very important. Although I am aware that you don't want to get any information about what is happening back at ho, but I am sure that you will definitely be interested in this piece of information."
Collins shook his head when he heard Walter's words. He knew how Walter was, and it wasn't that easy for Walter to have that expression on his face if the piece of information that he possessed was not important.
"Tell ." Gritting his teeth, he asked.
"The family business is currently encountering several losses at a go. And, at this mont, nobody knows the reason behind all of this. For that reason, they are hoping that we can perhaps know the person that we have offended recently, that we don't know their background." Walter stated in one breath.
Collin's eyes widened in surprise. He had never expected that the piece of information that Walter possessed was this one. Had he known of this, he would have already tried to look for counterasures.
It was already almost the ti for him to take over the position of the family head, and if the family fell, wasn't he going to have a lot of work to do, to be able to bring the family back to its peak?
"Why didn't you tell earlier?" Collins asked in a dramatic way.
"But you refused to listen to ." Walter replied helplessly.
