On the other side.

Liu Ziming was locked in a desperate battle.

Two Infestant Bone Shell Beetles and one Spider Beast simultaneously lunged at him!

The beetles charged head-on.

anwhile, the Spider Beast spat sticky webs to block his escape routes!

"Thunder Burst!"

Gritting his teeth, Liu Ziming compressed the Purple Thunder in front of him before violently detonating it!

"BOOM!"

Lightning ran rampant, forcing both creatures back.

The massive spider web was only charred and damaged by the explosion, but a portion still stuck to his leg.

Instantly tightening, it hindered his movent!

"Damn!"

As Liu Ziming's movents stalled, one beetle's sharp limb was already stabbing toward his face!

At the critical mont.

A sword flash, swift as lightning, swept past!

"THUD!"

Feng Jue, arriving later but striking first, pierced through that beetle's head!

But he himself was also caught by the residual shockwave from the flail swung by another Loatheso Butcher.

Though he blocked in ti with his sword.

He was still shaken, his blood and energy churning, blood once again trickling from the corner of his mouth.

Xu Hao hid behind cover, desperately using his dagger to cut the webs entangling Liu Ziming. His hands trembled with fear, but he didn't stop moving.

Su Zhan, having just repelled the bat demon, imdiately turned toward the main breach!

There, another Loatheso Butcher was attempting to smash open the crack with its massive body!

Ti Abyss Pupil, slow!

A bloodshot flash passed through Su Zhan's eyes as he drastically reduced the speed of that Loatheso Butcher and several nearby Infestant Bone Shell Beetles!

"Xie Xi!"

Su Zhan roared.

Xie Xi, who had just struggled to her feet, understood imdiately. Suppressing the internal organ vibrations, she raised the Destruction Scythe once more.

Gathering most of her remaining spiritual energy, she executed a diagonal slash!

The massive phantom of the scythe blade, as if cleaving the earth itself, viciously chopped into the group of slowed monsters!

"THUD! CRACK!"

Two Infestant Bone Shell Beetles were instantly dismbered!

That Loatheso Butcher, however, wasn't seriously injured;

the wound was long but shallow, capable of healing in the blink of an eye.

But at least its charging montum was stopped.

More monsters continued pouring in from all directions!

The outpost teetered on the brink, cracks continuously widening!

Everyone's spiritual energy was depleting rapidly, and each bore injuries, minor or severe.

Less than five minutes had passed!

An atmosphere of despair began to spread.

"Dammit... we can't hold on..."

Liu Ziming's voice was full of despair as he looked at the seemingly endless horde of monsters outside.

"Conserve your strength!"

Xie Xi's breathing was equally ragged.

Su Zhan's brain, enhanced by the Ti Abyss Pupil's future prediction, calculated at lightning speed.

Searching for any possible chance to endure.

Just as the outpost was about to be overrun and the group neared despair.

"Awooo—!!!"

A desolate wolf howl suddenly erupted from the side rear of the battlefield!

A silver figure crashed into the fray at a speed barely visible to the naked eye!

The figure was so fast it left only a blurry silver streak!

Wherever it passed, flesh and blood flew everywhere!

"THUD!"

...

An Infestant Bone Shell Beetle lunging at Liu Ziming had its head instantly explode!

A Loatheso Butcher swinging its flail had its massive body torn apart as if by invisible claws, instantly dismbered!

That Shade Bat Demon, which had been harassing from the air, was cleanly sliced in half mid-air by a silvery, moon-like arc!

The silver figure didn't pause at all, weaving frantically through the monster horde, killing!

His height had increased to nearly two ters.

He retained a human body structure, but his entire body was covered in flowing silver fur like moonlight, his muscles bulging and swollen, brimming with explosive power.

His hands had transford into massive wolf claws covered in silver fur, with nails sharp as hooks, and his feet had beco wolf paws suited for pouncing and running.

His head remained human-like.

His mouth and nose protruded, his fangs stark white and sharp, and a scar marked his face.

The scar's location was familiar.

This was...

The scar-faced officer!

"Die!"

The scar-faced officer forcefully kicked off the ground.

The silver figure shot out like a cannonball,

Plunging into the remaining Infestant Bone Shell Beetles like a tiger among sheep!

Completely overwhelming these Mist Creatures.

The battle turned into pure slaughter!

In just one or two minutes.

The horde of Mist Creatures that had nearly overwheld the outpost monts before was completely wiped out.

The Moonlight Werewolf stood amidst a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, his silver fur stained with so grimy blood, adding to his ferocity.

He lifted his head and let out a long, authoritative wolf howl, declaring the end of the battle.

Then.

The silver fur covering his body rapidly receded, his bulging muscles contracted.

He transford back into human form.

Having reverted to the scar-faced officer, his gaze swept over the devastated outpost and the utterly disheveled five—Su Zhan and his companions.

He spoke: "A bunch of trash! Just two dium-risk cannon fodder pushed you this far? Is this the quality the Vermilion Bird Academy produces?"

His scolding remained harsh.

But now, to the five students, it sounded like heavenly music.

Salvation in desperate straits.

Su Zhan had almost thought he would die here.

Damn...

That would have been a huge loss.

Not long after the battle ended, the actual rotation soldiers and a support squad finally arrived at Outpost 7 in an armored vehicle.

They saw the mountain of Mist Creature corpses piled outside the outpost.

Especially the remains of those several dium-risk level Mist Creatures.

So veterans' faces showed expressions of shocked disbelief.

Seeing the five student soldiers slumped inside the outpost, covered in blood, spiritually energy depleted, utterly disheveled but all still alive.

That shock transford into a degree of respect.

"Damn... these student kids... are this fierce?"

A veteran couldn't help but exclaim under his breath.

"What are you looking at! Hurry up with the rotation! Clean the battlefield! Repair the fortifications!"

The scar-faced officer turned and waved at Su Zhan's group of five: "You lot, can you still move? If you can, get your asses back to the fortress! The dical team is ready! You have one day to rest!"

"Yes! Sir!"

The five struggled to their feet, supporting each other, and boarded the vehicle returning to the fortress.

Back at the fortress, the waiting dical team imdiately conducted examinations and treatnt.

Mostly exhaustion, minor internal injuries, and so superficial wounds—not fatal, but requiring rest.

That night, the five slept incredibly deeply.

The next day at noon.

All students who had co for the training exercise were assembled again on the square.

After last night's bitter battle and fright, many students still showed fatigue and lingering fear on their faces, and the atmosphere in the ranks was sowhat subdued.

The scar-faced officer walked to the front of the formation, his gaze sweeping across the entire crowd.

He remained silent for several seconds.

This made the students below even more uneasy.

Finally, he spoke:

"Last night, Forward Outpost 7 was assaulted by over a hundred Mist Creatures, including two dium-risk units."

As these words fell, a wave of sharp intakes of breath erupted below!

All the students looked in shock toward Su Zhan's five-person team standing in the ranks, their eyes filled with disbelief!

An attack of that scale was almost a certain death situation for students like them!

The scar-faced officer continued: "The outpost was defended by Su Zhan, Xie Xi, Liu Ziming, Feng Jue, and Xu Hao from the Vermilion Bird Academy!"
