After gladly accepting the invitation from the two "shining" girls to take a walk and relax, Wen Nan accompanied them, aimlessly strolling along the corridor.
The fingers of the two girls were icy cold, holding Wen Nan's hands on each side, following him like two bodyguards.
After walking for a while, it was still the girl on the right who spoke up: "Brother, you're really special."
"Am I?" Wen Nan smiled, "How so?"
"You..." the girl tried to choose her words carefully, "you're not afraid of us. We don't sense fear from you, not even a little bit."
Wen Nan's smile deepened, "Why should I be afraid of you?"
He looked at the two girls on either side, thought seriously for a mont, then said, "You two look very much alike, which is... quite special, it might make people curious, but not fearful, right?"
The two girls simultaneously turned their heads toward Wen Nan, their necks twisting with a strange "creak" sound, like puppets.
After a brief silence, the girl spoke again: "You... are weird."
Wen Nan let out a laugh; being called weird didn't make him angry at all — during his ti in the hospital, he had heard much harsher comnts than this, and his heart had long been unperturbed.
At this mont, the girl said again, "We like you."
"Hmm?"
Wen Nan was slightly taken aback, then the two girls suddenly rose on tiptoe, one on each side, and gently kissed Wen Nan on the cheek.
The skin on the side of his face, touched by the cold lips, was an unprecedentedly strange experience.
Wen Nan was imrsed in this when a familiar figure suddenly appeared before him.
"President! Help!"
Xu Dongsheng was crying hysterically, standing at the stairway, shouting at Wen Nan.
Upon hearing the stranger's voice, the two girls were startled and retreated to Wen Nan's side, not daring to make any further improper moves.
Wen Nan looked at Xu Dongsheng, intending to ask him what was wrong and if he needed help.
However, before he could utter a word, Xu Dongsheng had already scread like he'd seen a ghost and turned around to run downstairs.
The two girls behind them raised their arms together at this mont, both pale as scallion stalks, pointing in the direction where Xu Dongsheng disappeared, and calmly remarked, "That brother is much more normal."
Wen Nan: ?
No, clearly Xu Dongsheng was the weirder one, right?
After the girl finished speaking, her lips, streaming with bloody water, curled into a bizarre smile, and she added, "But they're far from being as adorable as you are, brother."
Suddenly being complinted as cute, Wen Nan chuckled again.
The two girls then held Wen Nan's hands with theirs, placing two cold keys into Wen Nan's palms.
"Brother, about what you asked regarding our sister, as a thank you for accompanying us, we'll lend you the key to our sister's room for a night. Just rember to return it to us before dawn."
Wen Nan looked down at the two rusted keys that had appeared in his palm,
"What are th—"
He had only begun his question when he raised his head to find the two girls were already gone.
Turning around in place, Wen Nan scanned the entire corridor, not seeing any trace of them, as if the two girls were phantoms that vanished without a trace in an instant.
Looking again at the two keys in his palm, he noticed one was engraved with an L., the other with an R., one sunken and one protruded, appearing to be a pair.
Wen Nan placed the two keys side by side, and they imdiately clicked perfectly into place to form a single key. Simultaneously, a system prompt echoed in his mind—
9527: [Congratulations, you have discovered an important item on this map—the Mountain Villa Owner's room key!]
9527: [Locate the Mountain Villa Owner's room and insert this key to open her door.]
9527: [This key can only be used once. Whether you find the correct room or not, once the key is inserted into the keyhole, the item will beco permanently disabled, so please insert it carefully! Do not attempt any incorrect pathways!]
Seeing this ssage, Wen Nan's eyebrows lifted.
Is he the type to insert things carelessly? Clearly not! His selection of pathways has always been cautious!
Stowing the item back into his gear reserve, Wen Nan put his hands in his pockets and walked leisurely downstairs, humming a tune.
As soon as he stepped into the stairway, he caught sight of a purple figure out of the corner of his eye, gliding past him, and quickly disappearing into the corridor of the top floor.
It went to the floor he was on? Wasn't there only his guest room there?
Wen Nan lifted his foot and walked back to the top floor.
Just stepping out of the stairway, he saw a large, furry Chow Chow, with its bottom raised, head pressed to the ground, pawing desperately at the crack of Wen Nan's door.
Such a big creature, its sharp claws scratching hard, making the doorfra of Wen Nan's room emit a strained "bang bang" sound.
"Little P., stop scratching, I'm not inside." Wen Nan took a step forward.
Upon hearing Wen Nan's voice, Little P. imdiately stopped, grinning with its purple tongue sticking out. Its already small eyes squinted into two tiny beans, its eyeballs disappearing.
Its big tail thumped the ground uncontrollably, waggling its entire backside madly, wanting to pounce on Wen Nan, yet rembering its owner's reprimand about not being too enthusiastic, so it restrained itself, rely circling Wen Nan, emitting soft whimpering sounds from its throat.
Drool dripped from the tongue hanging at its mouth, quickly corroding the floor into a row of pits.
Wen Nan, a bit helpless, took out the previously retrieved [Little P.'s at Bone] from his gear reserve and tossed it away.
Little P. imdiately chased after the at bone happily.
9527: [Congratulations, participant! By using the key item 'Little P.'s at Bone,' you have successfully prevented Little P.'s friendly mood from turning hostile, thereby earning an extra 20% exclusive friendliness from Little P.]
The system prompt had barely finished when a slight exhalation sound ca from behind him.
Wen Nan turned around, seeing the maid called "Azi" standing almost flush against his back, stiff and upright.
At this point, Azi's skin was festering, filled with blackened burn marks, with a small candle still nestled in her exploded hair.
"Oh," Wen Nan couldn't help but exclaim softly, "Miss Azi, your evening look is truly unique."
Azi was initially taken aback, then smiled without comnting on her appearance, only saying, "I knocked on the door, but you weren't in, so I... couldn't get in."
Wen Nan glanced at his tightly locked door, "Want to co in and have a seat?"
Azi was overjoyed, nodding imdiately.
"Then co on in."
Wen Nan raised his hand, just about to open the door when the entire villa was suddenly filled with an ear-piercing alarm—
[Beep—! Beep—! Beep—!]
[A murder has been discovered! Curfew lifted!]
[Everyone, please proceed to the first-floor dining room imdiately!]
