"Alex, hear out!" The princess ran to the duke.

"Alex, hear out! I’m not lying. Whatever she is saying is a lie. I didn’t do anything. Do you think I can commit a cri of killing a person?" she said, running toward the duke while trying to stop him.

"I don’t know, princess, what you can do and what you can’t. But right now, I have evidence that you have committed a cri. I have proper evidence that the maid said she clearly delivered the letter to the duchess, which was ant for you, so the investigation needs to be started," Duke said while walking.

"And how could you believe that when you didn’t read the letter yourself? You didn’t see what was written there, nor did I. Then how could you be so sure I have committed the cri?" she said.

"Princess, the duchess has read the letter, and I believe her. She said you have committed a cri, which ans you did. And I didn’t even treat you like a criminal, so don’t try to say I’m behaving this way toward a criminal, or I would be so forced to think you were the one who put poison in the duchess’s food, which is why she was on the verge of dying," Duke glared at Princess Vixara.

"But I did no such thing. You are only blindly trusting her because I said I want to marry you. Otherwise, how could you just toss like that? I’m the princess, your cousin whom you have known from childhood," she said, tears dripping down her cheek.

"Yes, but now the person I’m seeing is not the person I knew in childhood," Duke said and walked toward the entrance of the mansion.

"I’m going to the capital. I may not co for a few days, and don’t let anyone go outside. Especially the princess, she needs to be inside the mansion until I return," Duke ordered the head maid.

"As you wish, my lord," he said and left toward his horse, while the princess tried to go outside of the mansion. Still, the head maid said, "You can’t go outside, princess. This is the duke’s order."

"And who are you to stop ? You are just a re maid. So behave like one. No need to involve yourself in my business," she said, grunting in anger.

"Yes, princess, I’m the maid, so I’m behaving like one. I’m here to obey my master, so right now, I’m obeying my master. So please go inside. Until the duke returns, you can’t place your feet outside, as per the instructions I have received," the head maid said while blocking the princess’s way.

"How dare you!" she shouted.

"What is happening here? What is this chaos going on?" the mistress arrived at the scene.

"Aunt, this maid is not letting go outside. Please let go. Alex will leave. Then everything will be bad," the princess said while clinging to the mistress.

"What is this?" she asked the maid.

"I’m just following my order, mistress. This is the order from the duke," the maid explained.

"What order did he give?" the mistress asked.

"Duke has said no one should place their feet outside until he returns. Especially the princess should not place her feet outside of the mansion until he returns," the head maid explained as she was told.

"What is going on? What have you done, princess?" the mistress turned to the princess, who pulled her to a corner while she trembled.

"Aunt, I have done a big mistake," the princess said.

"What do you an by you have done a big mistake? Speak! Speak about what you have done!" the mistress demanded.

"Aunt, I have killed a person by placing an assassin after him, and my maid has sent the letter to inform that the work was finished. But the letter fell into the hands of the woman, and she told Alex everything. Even though at first, he didn’t believe her, as the maid ca up to show proof, everything was revealed. Now, he has gone to the capital to investigate this matter, and he is locking up here so that I couldn’t run away anymore," the princess explained.

"What the hell have you done, Vixara? If you did such a thing, couldn’t you tell ? Couldn’t you ask before doing such a thing?" the mistress started worrying about the situation.

"Even the emperor, my brother, is not functioning. So your investigation will fall into Prince Maximus’s hands. Which way you are bound to die. Why didn’t you keep yourself hidden for a small ti?" the mistress asked again.

"What should I do? It was the person who I left the mansion with and got married to. He has beco trouble. What if he has uttered all the truth in front of the entire empire? What would happen to ? Can you imagine my situation? No, right? Because I was in a strict position, either I die, or I will kill him, so I chose to kill him," the princess said.

"Now what? Aunt, do sothing!" the princess pleaded.

"I don’t think I have any option. I can only do sothing once he returns," the mistress said while walking toward her room with a worried face.

"Ahh, what to do! It is all that woman’s fault! Why does she have to be the one who got the letter? Can’t it be soone else who doesn’t open letters without others’ permission? No, it’s always her. She always cos up in my direction. No, I can’t let her go. If it is kill or die, then I will choose to kill her once again," the princess said while running toward the duchess’s room.

She went ahead and knocked on her door.

"Open the door!" she demanded while clenching her teeth. Soon, the duchess opened the door, and the princess entered the room abruptly.

"What the hell are you doing? Don’t you have basic manners?" the duchess said in anger.

"No, I don’t, just as you didn’t know that it is bad manners to open soone’s letter without their permission," the princess said.

"Yeah, I don’t have any manners, nor did I ever claim to have, but you did. So where is your manner, princess? Or are you no longer going to act all innocent ever?" the duchess smirked.

"You!!!" Princess grunted and pulled the duchess’s hair tightly, making her yelp.

"You are forgetting your place. Do you think you have married him and you have beco a duchess? No! You still belong to the bankrupted Marquis who couldn’t get money, so he sold you out. Or he would have sold your body to so man who would use your body once and throw you in so drain to be eaten by so eagles," the princess said.

"Oh really? Then what was that? Ahhh, I rember I heard sothing that you have slept with your guard," the duchess said, making the princess loosen her grip on her hair.

"Aren’t you too loose, princess? You didn’t even hesitate to sleep with your guard. I think the guard had so bad choices; that is why he chose you instead of so decent woman," the duchess said, smiling.

"Do you think I got the letter only? No, princess! I have got more information for you. So much that you could barely imagine. I have heard everything. That you have run away from your marriage with the duke because you went to marry that guard, but you have returned once you missed your luxury life. And people claim that their princess is badly sick. Ha ha ha ha, such a nice joke you have spread among the people," the duchess said, but soon the princess grabbed the knife from the table and pointed it at the duchess.

"You have spoken a lot. I can not tolerate you any longer. The thing I thought was right. You should die. You should die; that is when I can breathe in silence, and I will silence you right now," she said while raising her knife to stab the duchess, but the duchess held the knife, struggling to make it fall on the ground. Instead, it made a long cut on the duchess’s palm.

"Move your hand!!!" the princess tried to shake it away, but as the duchess got pushed, sothing happened. The knife got stabbed, but not into the duchess, but the personal maid of the duchess. The blood started dripping on the floor while the maid struggled to keep her eyes open.

"Madam, you are fine!!! Nothing has happened to you," the maid muttered while moving toward the duchess.

"Yes, yes, I am okay. But you are not! I will call the doctor," the duchess said and shouted so that soone could get the doctor, but only a crowd accumulated in front of her.

"I said soone call the doctor!!!" she shouted again, making soone go inform the doctor, but seeing the blood coming out so badly inside her made everyone scared. The princess no longer holding the knife but the bloodstains and all pointing at the duchess.
