“Dinner’s ready! Go wash your hands and eat.”

Hearing her voice, Su Ya sighed in the living room. She had spent so much ti trying to convince Ling Ye to let her pinch her cheeks, but her efforts had been in vain. Ling Ye adamantly refused, no matter what.

So frustrating… but I have to keep smiling.

Su Ya made her way to the dining table. Her eyes widened slightly as she took in the feast before her. Though she knew Ling Ning could cook, she hadn’t expected the dishes to look so mouthwateringly good. The aroma alone was tantalizing—surely, they’d taste just as amazing?

“Do you need any help in the kitchen?” Su Ya asked, stepping toward the kitchen door.

“N-No, it’s fine. This is the last dish. Just take a seat.”

Su Ya tilted her head. “Ling Ning, your face is really red. Are you okay?”

“Eh!?” Startled, Ling Ning froze. Then, flustered, she muttered, “I-I’m fine. It’s just warm in here from cooking. It’ll go away in a minute.”

“Oh~”

After Su Ya left, Ling Ning exhaled in relief and cast a sidelong glance at Xia You. Xia You stood calmly, tidying the kitchen as though nothing had happened monts ago.

Sensing Ling Ning’s gaze, Xia You turned her head and flashed an angelic smile, completely innocent.

Ling Ning smiled wryly. If this continues, I’ll combust sooner or later.

“Let’s go. We’re done here.”

“Mm.”

As soon as Ling Ning erged from the kitchen, Ling Ye cheered. The food on the table was all her favorites, and she had been waiting impatiently.

Not just Ling Ye—Su Ya’s stomach growled audibly as she sat down. Even though she had eaten breakfast late, she was starving now.

Once Ling Ning sat down, Ling Ye eagerly picked up her chopsticks, grabbing a piece of sweet-and-sour pork. The tangy, sweet flavor lit up her face with delight.

Mom’s sweet-and-sour pork is simply the best!

Seeing Ling Ye’s reaction, Su Ya also took a piece. Her eyes widened as the familiar taste lted in her mouth. This… tastes just like my mom’s cooking! It was uncanny, almost magical.

“How is it? Good?” Ling Ning asked with a grin.

“Mm!!!”

Su Ya nodded enthusiastically. If this isn’t good, then nothing qualifies as good food.

The food on the table seed to sparkle in her imagination, shining like treasures. Of course, this was just Su Ya’s overactive mind at work. Shining food? What was this, a food ani?

Watching Ling Ye and Su Ya devour the al, Ling Ning’s lips curved in satisfaction. Words weren’t needed—their enthusiasm was the highest praise a cook could receive.

By the ti they finished, the once-bountiful table was empty. Even Ling Ning was surprised. I didn’t expect them to finish everything. She had thought there would be leftovers for dinner, but clearly, she’d underestimated their appetites.

“I can’t believe it…”

Su Ya slumped on the couch, holding her stomach. It had been so long since she’d eaten this much, and though she was happy, she couldn’t ignore the discomfort. She also worried about her weight—surely, this al would push it up a notch.

Ling Ye was similarly stuffed. Having eaten only a bun for breakfast, she had more than made up for it at lunch. It was a mystery where such a petite girl put all that food.

While Ling Ning and Xia You cleared the table, Su Ya quietly approached Ling Ye, who was sitting on the couch with her eyes closed. Now’s my chance! Su Ya thought as she reached for Ling Ye’s cheeks.

But just as Su Ya’s hand was about to make contact, Ling Ye turned her head sharply, dodging with ease. She opened her eyes and stared at Su Ya blankly.

Why does this big sister remind of that café manager, Zhou Xiaoxiao? She’s just as much of a weirdo…

Ling Ye raised Su Ya’s alert level in her mind. From “moderately concerning” to “potential threat,” just shy of the “those shaless won chasing after Mom” tier.

Realizing her sneak attack had failed, Su Ya gave an awkward smile, masking her disappointnt. How did she dodge so easily?!

In the kitchen, Ling Ning glanced at Xia You. “Do you have plans this afternoon? I’m thinking of stopping by a café—want to co?”

“Sure.”

Xia You agreed imdiately. She wasn’t about to let Ling Ning spend ti alone with Su Ya.

When Ling Ning returned to the living room, she found Su Ya slumped on the couch, looking defeated. Ling Ning tilted her head. What happened while I was washing dishes?

Before she could ask, Su Ya reached out and pinched Ling Ning’s cheeks. “What are you doing?” Ling Ning mumbled through squished cheeks.

“Nothing.”

Su Ya’s mood visibly brightened as she played with Ling Ning’s cheeks. If I can’t pinch Ling Ye’s, pinching Ling Ning’s will do just fine!

Ling Ye watched Su Ya in shock. This woman… no, this lustful little minx! She’s touching Mom’s face right in front of ! In Ling Ye’s mind, Su Ya’s threat level skyrocketed, joining the ranks of won like Bai Yiyue—those harboring illicit intentions toward her Mom.

Even Xia You frowned slightly at the sight. This is getting annoying. If only I could “mark” Su Ya with sothing permanent…

Su Ya finally let go of Ling Ning’s cheeks, albeit reluctantly. She might have continued if not for the palpable tension in the room.

Rubbing her cheeks, Ling Ning said, “Xiao Ya, didn’t you say you wanted to check out the café? Why don’t we head there this afternoon?”

“Sure!”

Su Ya replied eagerly. She wasn’t about to miss the chance to see Ling Ning in a maid outfit!
