“Ms. Ye Xuan, are you inside?”

Cang Kongjing stood nervously at the door, hesitating to knock again. When she heard that Ms. Ye Xuan was being transferred, she had abandoned the opening ceremony entirely and rushed to Ye Xuan’s dormitory.

While Ms. Ye always wore a stern expression, she had been incredibly helpful to Cang throughout her ti at the school. Whenever Cang had an issue, Ye Xuan was the first person she sought for advice.

Yet, she couldn’t understand why Ms. Ye was suddenly transferring. It didn’t make sense.

Just as she was about to give up and leave, the door creaked open. Ye Xuan stood there, her face as cold and expressionless as ever, her gaze clearly conveying, *Why did you interrupt ?*

Cang Kongjing shivered under her icy stare, wondering why Ms. Ye always seed annoyed whenever she knocked on her door. Did she interrupt her at bad monts every single ti?

“Do you... have sothing you need?” Ye Xuan asked coolly.

Ye Xuan had co to expect this kind of interruption. Every ti sothing significant was about to happen, it seed that Cang Kongjing was there to disrupt it. She had started to wonder if she had sohow wronged this teacher in a previous life.

“Well... I heard you’re being transferred, so I wanted to see you before you left and maybe give you a proper send-off. I also don’t know where you’re being transferred to...” Cang Kongjing said timidly.

“There’s no need for a send-off. I’m just going to S University. If you need , it’s not far,” Ye Xuan replied.

“S University?!”

Cang’s eyes lit up at the news. S University was only a few subway stops away. She had worried that if Ye Xuan moved to another city, she’d only be able to consult her by phone, which was always less effective than face-to-face discussions.

“Anything else?” Ye Xuan asked, turning briefly to glance behind her, checking if Ling Ning was still asleep.

“Um... would you like to have lunch with ? As a farewell gesture?” Cang asked hesitantly.

Ye Xuan was about to decline when a sudden noise ca from behind her. She turned back to see Ling Ning stumbling out of the room, her clothes slightly disheveled and her expression groggy.

“Lunch? Is there free lunch?” Ling Ning muttered sleepily as she rubbed her eyes.

Her voice wasn’t loud, but it carried clearly into the hallway where Cang Kongjing stood.

Cang blinked in shock. Soone else was in Ye Xuan’s room?! Peering past Ye Xuan, she caught sight of Ling Ning. Her surprise grew further when she recognized her—Ling Ning was a forr student of Ye Xuan’s.

Why was a forr student in Ye Xuan’s room? And why was she dressed like that?

Cang Kongjing felt like she was starting to understand sothing, though her conclusion was entirely her own.

Ling Ning finally woke up fully and realized the comnt about lunch wasn’t directed at her. Embarrassed, she mumbled, “Why did I even get up? I should’ve just kept sleeping...”

“Am I... interrupting sothing?” Cang asked cautiously.

“Yes,” Ye Xuan replied bluntly, not bothering to sugarcoat it.

Cang stared at her, speechless. She hadn’t expected Ye Xuan to admit it so openly. Was this really fine?

Despite Ye Xuan’s reply, Cang wasn’t ready to give up on her lunch invitation. “What about my earlier suggestion, Ms. Ye? If Ling Ning is free, she’s welco to join us. It’s not for any other reason—I just want to thank you for all your help over the past year.”

Faced with Cang’s earnest plea, Ye Xuan sighed in resignation. She couldn’t find a good excuse to refuse, so she nodded.

Seeing Ye Xuan’s agreent, Cang bead. “Great! Let’s et at the beef hot pot place at noon.”

With that, she turned to leave but stopped abruptly as if rembering sothing. She turned back, her cheeks flushed. “Um... about what I just saw, I won’t tell anyone. Don’t worry!”

Before either Ye Xuan or Ling Ning could respond, Cang bolted down the hall, likely racing back to catch the opening ceremony.

Ling Ning watched her leave, puzzled. “Do you think she misunderstood sothing?”

“Who knows.”

Ling Ning suddenly recalled her original reason for coming—helping Ye Xuan pack. But sohow, she had ended up napping on the bed instead.

Looking at the bed, she muttered, “It’s the bed’s fault. I bet it has a ‘sleep enchantnt’ cast on it or sothing.”

After blaming the bed, Ling Ning began helping Ye Xuan pack seriously. Fortunately, there wasn’t much left—just the bedsheets and pillows.

After loading everything into the car, Ling Ning let out a sigh of relief, wiping non-existent sweat from her forehead: "Whew, after packing for so long, I'm feeling quite tired~"

Hearing Ling Ning's words, Ye Xuan gave her an expressionless look. She hadn't done anything at all, yet she was complaining about being tired—Ye Xuan really didn't know what to say.

"By the way, are you moving these things back ho or sowhere else?"

"To the university dormitory."

Her rented apartnt was a bit far from S University, so after careful consideration, she decided to move directly into the S University faculty housing. After all, the faculty housing conditions there were quite good. As for her rented apartnt, she planned to terminate the lease when she had ti.

"Is that so?"

Ling Ning's eyes lit up—this would be a good opportunity to take an early tour of S University.

"What's wrong?"

eeing Ye Xuan sitting motionless in the driver's seat, Ling Ning asked puzzledly.

Ye Xuan turned her head and asked calmly: "What's the first step when driving?"

"Huh?"
