“Proclaim!”
“Thou art now bound to my command.”
“Entrust thy fate unto my sword.”
“Heed the call of the Holy Grail.”
“Follow its will.”
“Submit to its decree.”
“Thou shalt answer imdiately…”
“I hereby swear.”
“I am the embodint of all that is good.”
“I am the eradicator of all that is evil.”
“The three great words of power encircle thee.”
“Originating from the wheel of restraint.”
“Protector of the scales!”
Chu ngyao's expression was solemn, almost like a priest officiating a funeral. Her eyes stared indifferently at the object in front of her... which happened to be a cell phone. Then she pressed a button.
The phone suddenly emitted a dazzling light, and a beautiful woman in traditional attire appeared, her long hair flowing as she held a longsword. She looked like a celestial being, her beauty beyond description.
However, Chu ngyao's expression collapsed. "Again with this damn Li Erxia?! How many tis have I drawn Li Erxia now? Damn it, David!" She cursed. This was already several tis in a row of spending 648 yuan without success. She had been trying to get the Magnetic Storm Strike, and after spending 6,480 yuan she had finally pulled a ghostly armor, yet getting the matching weapon was proving nearly impossible.
"What... what are you doing? Did you catch sothing from the boss?"
Ling Ning had just arrived at the café, only to hear Chu ngyao wailing like a ghost. Given the dramatic lines, Ling Ning almost believed that she had been infected by Luo Xiaoning's lodramatic tendencies.
“N-no... it’s nothing. I’m just a bit frustrated,” Chu ngyao said, her voice strained. Then, noticing Ling Ning's unusually pale face, she added with concern, "Are you okay? You look as pale as a ghost. Did you pull another all-nighter?"
“N-no, I’m fine... This happens every month.”
Ling Ning had a look of despair. She had woken up in the morning with terrible cramps, only to find that her pajama pants were stained with blood, and even her bedsheet had a small bloodstain.
Being well-versed in matters of health education, Ling Ning imdiately understood what was happening. She had known this day would co eventually, but it had caught her completely off guard—no warning whatsoever. Well, actually, there had been so signs yesterday, but she had ignored them. Plus, she had eaten ice cream, spicy tofu, and taken a cold shower. No wonder she felt like she was dying now.
After squinting and thinking hard, she managed to dig a pack of sanitary pads from under the wardrobe. Thank goodness she hadn’t thrown them away before. Otherwise, she would’ve been in real trouble today. She hadn’t imagined her first ti using one of these would co like this.
After so hectic work, Ling Ning finally got everything sorted—pads in place, everything changed. Having sothing extra down there felt extrely uncomfortable. And what’s with all this blood? Was she not going to die from blood loss at this rate?
She even made sure to wash her stained clothes and bedsheet afterward. She couldn’t let her daughter find out—where would her authority as a mother be otherwise?
"Sigh~"
The thought of what had happened in the morning made Ling Ning feel like a pain in her guts—no, no more pain, she was already in enough agony as it was.
"How can it hurt this much?" Chu ngyao said, wincing sympathetically as she watched Ling Ning’s expression twist with pain.
"I forgot about my period, ate ice cream in the afternoon, then had spicy tofu I made myself, and took a cold shower last night..."
"Please don’t say sothing so horrifying with such a deadpan expression, Warrior!" Chu ngyao couldn’t help but shiver as she listened to Ling Ning’s list of misdeeds—it was terrifying. "Anyway, it’s a workday, so you should just rest here for now. I don’t expect there to be many custors today."
Ling Ning nodded and sank into the couch, her stomach feeling like a knife was slicing it from the inside.
"Here, have so warm water—it should help a bit," Ye Xuan said, her eyes full of concern as she handed a cup of warm water to Ling Ning.
"Thank you~" Ling Ning took the cup, and although it didn’t alleviate her pain much, the warmth of the water did help comfort her a bit.
Before she knew it, Ling Ning had fallen asleep at the table.

“Eh~”
Ling Ning looked at her surroundings. She hadn’t expected that dozing off would lead her back into "Ling Ning's" mories. Judging from the room, this seed to be her forr room—it was unmistakable, as she had been here multiple tis already. Entering mories was a blessing; at least now she felt completely comfortable, free from pain.
At this mont, the little girl version of Ling Ning was crouched at the door, which was slightly ajar, peeking through the gap with great concentration. Ling Ning was curious and tried to lean closer for a look herself. Then her head just passed right through the door.
"Uh..." She had forgotten that she could pass through walls here—how ridiculous.
Ling Ning walked through the door, arriving in the living room. The room was lively, filled with the sa people from the last funeral, all of them arguing heatedly.
“I’m A-Xia’s elder brother, so I should inherit his house. As for the insurance money, you can take fifty percent at most.” It was that sa greasy, middle-aged uncle—Ling Ning’s so-called uncle.
“Stop joking. Since you took the house, the insurance money should be entirely ours. Otherwise, we’ll see you in court! And you know I have connections,” her uncle said coldly, glaring at the other man.
“You...” Ling Ning's uncle seed to want to say sothing, but upon recalling the connections the other party had, he ultimately held his tongue.
“Then what about the little girl, Ling Ning?”
The uncle sneered and said dismissively, "Just find so cheap little place to dump her in, give her so allowance each month, and once she's of age, we can just stop caring."
“This...” Hearing his suggestion, Ling Ning's uncle's face turned uncertain. However, he neither had the ti nor the money to raise such a burden, so he eventually nodded in agreent.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk~”
Ling Ning looked coldly at the hypocrites before her. It seed like "Ling Ning" had really been unlucky to have these relatives. At the sa ti, she couldn't help but admire how the girl had managed to endure all these years—if it had been her, she would’ve lashed out at society by now.

“Mmm~”
Ling Ning slowly opened her eyes. How long had she been asleep? Why did she only see a snippet of mory this ti? Looking around, she noticed the sky outside had already darkened.
“I can’t believe you slept this long. We tried to wake you for lunch, but you wouldn’t wake up. We were about to send you to the hospital until we saw that you were fine. Are you okay now?”
“Yeah, I feel much better after so sleep.” Ling Ning checked in with herself and found that while there was still a bit of pain, it wasn’t too bad.
“That’s good. You should be more careful next ti.”
“Uh...”
