(Drakken’s POV)
"It is nothing I am proud of." I said seriously as I looked down, "It is sothing that has kept up at night for a long ti after that. The one thing I regret.....it is doing that."
"Drakken...." Mya said softly, "I....I am so sorry to hear that."
I rubbed my hair as I closed my eyes, "It was so long ago." I said, "It felt like it happened to a different person. But the truth is that it happened and there is nothing I can do about it."
"W-What happened to the Woman....?" Maegelle asked
I opened my eyes and looked down, "She was even more depressed...." I said, "She beca a different person. It was not long after, she hadn’t even recovered from losing the baby, but she went to the river....and she killed herself."
"What....?" Her voice was soft, barely audible
I nodded, "She slit her wrists and drowned herself." I said as I gripped my lap, feeling a bit anxious about that mory, "By the ti I got there, the water was already red....and when I dove in, I was too late.....all I pulled out was her lifeless corpse. The despair I felt in that mont was unlike anything I have ever felt....at that mont, I cursed the land, I cursed everything in the world. All that surrounded was Death....caused by War. Everything bad that had happened was because of War....and Death..."
"That...." Saera said, "Was intense....."
"An understatent." I said as I nodded, "The funny thing is.....well, not so funny.....her Husband did not die in battle. He had survived the onslaught and had recovered in a different city. When he ca back, he saw burying his dead wife. When he asked what had happened, I told her an accident caused her to lose the child, and she took her own life. In a fit of fury, he blad and tried to kill , pinning to the ground and cursing . He told that I was a cursed child, thrown into the world by the Demon Lords who wanted to destroy Infernis....He wanted dead. And for a few seconds, I almost let him kill ...but....I didn’t."
"What.....did you do?" Mya asked her expression was pale with sorrow
"I fought back." I said, "And like I did the other people I’ve killed, I butchered him.....bathing in his blood, a horrid sight. I buried him with his wife and was spotted by the Village Elder. From that point on, I was shunned and rejected. Nobody wanted anything to do with . I was alone.....truly alone...until it happened..."
"T-There’s more?" Maegelle asked
"I suppose so. I an....." I said, "The village was attacked by the enemy army, the soldiers pillaging and murdering the remaining people, all while I watched. Sothing in snapped, filled with nothing but rage and hatred, that I simply cursed the concept of War and Death.....and my Sorcery awakened.....and I fought back. There was so much blood.....the mud was turned red, the puddles were filled with guts and limbs...the entire village was reduced to nothing but a pile of ashes, filled with piles of corpses...at that mont, I beca sothing more than a re human child. I was different...I beca.....a monster..."
Their eyes were on , not being able to comprehend the words I was saying. For the first ti in ages, I felt comfortable enough to open up about my past. I didn’t speak much to Riktor about this.
It felt good to speak this, it felt.....liberating.
But I know they won’t be able to look at the sa after. They understand now why I am careful with them.
I sighed, "After that happened....." I said, "I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know where to go. I was alone, with a power I couldn’t understand. The first thing that ca to mind was to find the witch and her apprentices, the ones who raped . They were the only ones that I was aware of that wielded sorcery...but that plan didn’t even start.....since.....Hedescended upon the Land....."
"W-Who?" Maegelle asked
I looked down at scowled, feeling my blood boil as my body released a dark aura. My fists were clenched as I felt the room shake.
"D-Drakken..." Mya said softly
"H-Him....." I said, my voice filled with rage, "Corvinus, The Dragon God of Darkness.....the one who took in and bestowed upon the Dragon Calamity..."
"The one who gave you your power....and your na...." Maegelle said, "Drakken....."
"I was but.....an experint to him." I said, closing my eyes and trying to compose myself, "I ant nothing to him.....I....."
I felt Mya’s hand on my cheek, "My Lord...." She said softly, "It is okay..."
I looked at her, she had a sympathetic smile on her face, "Mya." I said, "You....."
"You do not need to continue." She said, "We understand."
I let out an exhale, "I....I am sorry...." I said, feeling a bit calr, "I am fine."
"Everything that you’ve said to us...." Mya continued, "Thank you.....we now understand you more.....and....I am sorry for everything that you have gone through."
"Hm." I said as I closed my eyes, "I don’t need pity."
"It’s not pity." She said as she hugged , "It’s not. Do not think so..."
Saera stood up, "I have a question." She told , "And I am sorry for prying further than I need to."
"What is it?" I asked her
"I understand that you spent a good ti with this...Dragon God....and that he is the reason you don’t like referring yourself as such." She said, "But.....your brothers.....did you et them during or after your ti with him."
Mya pulled away, "Riktor and Viktor." She said, "His sworn brothers.....and the original mbers of the Trinity."
"Them...." I said seriously, "It was at the end of my ti with Corvinus. They saved from his grasp....and since then, they swore to be by my side. I owe everything to them. What that bastard did was unforgivable....And I won’t speak about it today."
Maegelle gave a sad smile, "Of course...."
I closed my eyes, "Now, you understand." I said, "Why I am gentle when you are carrying my children. I need to be.....otherwise.....the sa thing would happen. That is the last thing I want. That is why I swore to never have children....and for centuries, I stayed true to that. Until as of late....."
I opened my eyes and looked at Maegelle, who patted her stomach and smiled.
"W-We know...." She said softly
"I don’t know what truly caused this." I said as I wrapped my arm around Mya’s waist, "This one gave my first.....and I will forever be grateful to her for that....and now, I just.....I want more...I don’t know why.....I don’t know why I want more...."
Mya looked at , "Perhaps it is a pent up feeling.....a desire to be a father." She said softly, "Centuries of walking the lands of your world, watching families grow up and wither into nothing....all while you outlived them, standing side by side with your immortal brothers....."
"Being plunged into a world with no way of returning...." Maegelle said, "Maybe you know that you might as well give in to that desire...."
"No way of returning....." I said as I looked down, "Hm....."
"What does that an?" Saera asked with a raised eyebrow
"Nothing." I said as I cleared my throat, "Leave it alone."
"Okay....." Saera said, "Sure...."
"Well...." I said as I stood up, "Now you know."
"Can we move on now?"
