892: Story 892: The Awakening of the Swarm 892: Story 892: The Awakening of the Swarm Lucas’s scream tore through the battlefield like a shockwave.

For a mont, everything stopped.

The horde twitched—a ripple of hesitation spreading through the mass of Hollowborn.

The Abyssal Titan, mid-charge, staggered as if sothing unseen had gripped its mind.

Lucas collapsed to his knees, trembling, veins pulsating black.

“Lucas!” Evelyn grabbed him, shaking his shoulders.

“Stay with !”

His eyes snapped open.

They were pitch-black, pupil-less, brimming with sothing alien.

“I… I hear them,” Lucas whispered.

“I see everything…”

And then, the horde turned its attention to him.

A New Hunger

The Hollowborn stopped attacking.

They lowered themselves, twitching, waiting.

Reaper kept his shotgun raised, sweat dripping from his brow.

“Why aren’t they attacking?”

Leon stepped forward cautiously.

“Lucas, what the hell is happening?”

Lucas stood, his breath unsteady.

“I don’t know… but they’re listening to .” He clutched his head, his fingers digging into his temples.

“They want to… lead them.”

Evelyn’s heart pounded.

“Lead them where?”

Lucas’s voice was hollow, distant.

“To the next stage.”

Suddenly, the Abyssal Titan roared in defiance.

It wasn’t obeying.

It lunged at Lucas—a wall of muscle and claws.

But before it could strike, the Hollowborn swarm reacted.

They attacked their own.

Hundreds of them climbed the Titan, tearing into it, ripping its flesh apart with unnatural frenzy.

The air filled with sickening cracks and wet slaps of tearing muscle.

Within monts, the colossal beast collapsed, its body consud by its own kin.

The survivors stood frozen.

Even Reaper, hardened by bloodshed, whispered, “Holy shit…”

Lucas exhaled shakily.

“I didn’t… I didn’t an to do that.”

Evelyn touched his arm carefully.

“Lucas, I think… you’re part of it now.”

His hands shook.

“No.

I’m still .”

Leon’s expression darkened.

“For how long?”

The swarm waited.

Motionless.

Watching.

Lucas stared at them—at the monsters.

And for the first ti, they stared back… as if waiting for his command.

The Flesh Cult Watches

Far in the distance, hidden within the ruined skyline, sothing watched.

Figures in tattered, blood-streaked robes, their bodies adorned with stitched flesh and bone-carved sigils.

The Flesh Cult had seen everything.

One of them, a gaunt figure with razor-carved lips, grinned.

“The Swarm has found its Voice.”

A second figure, draped in human skin, whispered, “The Devourer will be pleased.”

Their leader, a towering monstrosity with a mask of grafted skulls, simply nodded.

“Begin the Rite.

The Hollowborn must evolve.”

As the survivors stood among the silent swarm, they had no idea.

Sothing far worse was coming.

And Lucas was the key.
