Samuel entered the Queen's chamber where she helds most of these etings. He knew from the tone that this was more of a business visit then the familiar one and she was respecting him by providing him a similar environnt.
He scanned the area and saw there were many people hiding in various places. They must be mbers of her secret service there to protect her in case he did sothing out of ordinary.
He also noticed a middle aged man standing beside her. He had grey temples while his attire was pristine just like what the English nobles wore. Samuel could tell from his piercing gaze that he was not a simple man.
Still, his smile never faulter as he approached the place where the Queen was sitting. He did a perfect neck bow greeting before saying," I hope your majesty is in good health."
"Hmm...my health is fine. It's no problem with living for a hundred years but I don't understand why are you being so formal to when we are alone here."
Samuel didn't say anything and just glanced toward the man. The man also bowed slightly to show courtesy.
" Don't mind him. My old age has forgetting important things which is why I need Albert to help of remind what my duties are."
" It could be an early onset of different diseases. Are you getting regular check up? If not I can recomnd so great doctors."
" Brat! Don't try to act coy with !"
" I am sorry. I got carried away. I never knew that you had a advisor, I am sure Mr. Albert is very competent person." He stared at the man for few seconds taking in his appearance.
" Sit down and tell why you ca to see all of a sudden. You know, my schedule is always full and people have to make appointnts if they need to talk to ."
" Why? Can't you spare few minutes for your grandson?"
" Of course I can. Why do you think we are here?" They chuckled before their expression turned serious.
" I heard that you have been causing so large commotion. Can't you just live like normal people? Why do I always here you doing stupid things every other week?"
"It's not stupid, I am just cleaning out so trash so that people could have a better life in future. I have been aning to do this for a long ti and fortunately for , I have a free week before I head back to states."
"I know the people you are talking about and I want you to back off from this fight. You have already did enough damage, don't you think it's enough punishnt? I know what happened to that poor girl and I am sure they paid for it heavily but you have to think about the broader picture. People have started to notice and I am sure they would not like you running around taking things in your hand. "
"No one is completely clean in this world, even your family has many secrets that they didn't want others to know. You are playing with fire and this a warning from to stop what you are doing at this instance!" She was firm and precise with her words trying to make him understand not everything could be solved by brute force.
" I am afraid, I will not be able to fulfill your request. It's already started and I am going to finish it. If soone tries to stop , they will have a hell to pay."
"Young master Samuel, I think you are letting your emotions speak for yourself. You can't possibly think making enemies of the whole upper society would be a fair price to pay for your personal vendetta. There are other ways to go around it." Albert finally interjected seeing no party was budging and the conversation had began to steer in dangerous territory.
" Ok, tell . How would you take care of it? I believe you already know what they did if not, I can ask soone to send what we collected."
" That won't be necessary. We did iur own investigation and know a lot what they are involved in but at the sa ti, you have to acknowledge there won't just be them that is going to be affected. Many important people in both governnt and financial world would be held responsible which could lead to a much catastrophic result. Think about innocent people it is going to affect not to ntion, many of them would have a negative view of the governnt and people that run the country."
" I understand it all but you still haven't given a solution." Samuel wasn't going to let his flowery words effect him.
" Let us take care of it. If you are responsible for Clark then hand him to us and we will make sure he will recieve justice. Let other Green live in peace and they would not bother you and also promise not to release the evidence to the public so that others wouldn't get implicated in it. You will have your revenge and the fallout could be minimized. Robert Green would have so resentnt but we will make sure he doesn't do anything in anger." Albert laid out his terms.
He seed confident that it would appease Samuel's anger while keeping other party happy. The only loser in this scenario would be the Greens but that's the price they had to pay for not correctly raising their sons.
" Your majesty, do you think that's a fair resolution too?" He didn't say anything but wanted to see what she thought of it.
" It think it's fair. It much better than you threatening with those nacing eyes. Brat, if it were soone else, I would have their head on the plate!"
" I will gladly give it up but this ti, I think your judgent is wrong." He said in a firm tone which shocked the other party.
" In fear of upsetting few people, you are putting many people at risk. I know the world is changing but if you think about it, it is reverting back to the old days where few people controlled the world. As leaders we have a choice either to make everyone flourish together or ignore who we deem as not important and stand on moral high ground to discard them for the greater good."
"Young master-"
" Please let finish. I am not here to ask for permission or to make any demands. There are few things that I will not compramise and I know that my parents and grandparents would understand even if everything went against them. At the end of the day, they are not the type of person who will ask to make concession from doing what is right."
" If people are sick we take them to see a doctor but what happens when a country or the system get corrupted? Should we let it fester and develop into a tumor or do the right thing and remove it from the root so that we can save the whole body? I think the choice is clear."
" If they want to side with the Greens they will get what's coming to them and if others start to fear for it and start to cause trouble, I don't getting rid of few more people to make a point. Soft power is for the weak and I will not bow down just because the path is treacherous. They are still underestimating if they think they could make scared with numbers so you better tell anyone who will listen to not cross or do sothing that will make co after them."
" Boy, are you sure you want to take this path? You might not understand but-"
" I fully know what I am getting into. Before I go I want to say one more thing, you should look into your own family. There are so unsavoury character that are trying to take advantage of you and your prestige. People still love you but it wouldn't last for long if you keep this treading with aoft approach, sotis you have to hit them where it hurts to make them understand who is the person in charge of this place!"
All three of them looked at each other not knowing how to close the eting. Even Albert who felt Samuel would make the smart choice now understood he completely misread his character.
He wasn't just smart but bold with his decision but more than that he was too redy to take risks. Other people would have respected the Queen's status but Samuel completely disregarded her like a senile old lady.
The Queen also stared at him before saying," You remind a lot of that fellow Kenneth. I don't know what would happen in future but just try to keep things quiet for my heart's sake."
" I will try my best." He answered with a smile.
