The nurse left, and Daisy Ginger closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.

Not long after, Edward Stephens returned. He ca over, sat by the bedside, and looked down at her.

No matter how resilient Daisy’s nerves were, she couldn’t fall asleep under his X-ray-like penetrating gaze.

She opened her eyes, eting the man’s dark gaze, and said helplessly, "What’s wrong?"

"I’m leaving later. Just sitting here to watch you for a while."

"..." Daisy blinked slowly, then asked nonchalantly, "Is it nice to look at?"

Edward: "Not really."

Daisy: "..."

"But having sothing to look at isn’t bad. I’m not picky."

Such a reluctant tone.

Daisy glanced at him sideways, waved her hand impatiently like shooing away a fly, "Just go, I want to sleep."

The man reached out naturally and held her waving hand. His body temperature was slightly higher than hers, causing Daisy to instinctively flinch and try to withdraw from his palm.

Edward applied slight pressure and caught her slender fingers in his hand.

He didn’t exert much strength, rely held them loosely, yet it already made it difficult for her to pull away.

"Daisy." He called her na softly, his deep voice magnetic and rich with the maturity of a man, stirring her heart in the night.

"..." Daisy silently lifted her head to look at him, eting his pitch-black eyes.

"I’m sorry."

Daisy. I’m sorry.

Daisy’s eyelashes fluttered gently; she stared at the man’s face without saying a word.

"In the past, I wouldn’t force you to do what you didn’t want to do. Can you give another chance?"

Daisy looked at him, montarily unresponsive.

Edward did not expect that a single apology could resolve the problem between them.

Only when she leapt away from him did he finally realize what he had done to her.

It was as if he was possessed, willing to do anything to get her.

These thods might work for submissive won, but for Daisy’s fierce personality, they would only backfire.

The more he forced, the more determined she beca.

He had made a fundantal mistake, nearly driving Daisy to the brink.

If there had been concrete instead of grass below that window...

Would he still have the chance to apologize to her now?

He lowered his head and kissed her cold fingertips, "Rest well, I’m leaving."

His soft lips fell on her sensitive fingertips, causing Daisy’s fingers to unconsciously curl slightly. She watched Edward rise, tuck her cover, and stand by her bedside, gazing at her for a while.

Under the warm amber light, his face was imrsed in an aura of warmth, the lamp tinting his eyes a transparent amber, appearing as gentle as a pool of water.

Edward...

The boy who had drifted away now seed overlapping with him at this mont.

Her lips moved, inexplicably, feeling an urge to cry inside.

Everything went wrong, so absurdly wrong that she didn’t understand why she had to bear this mistake, despite having never wronged anyone.

She blinked slightly, suppressed her tears, and said softly with a nasal tone, "Just go."

Under his gentle gaze, she felt an indescribable grievance.
