Chapter 668: Chapter 657: Another Day Envying Dumbledore_2

But why do they have to go to the Ministry of Magic?

Kael imdiately thought of the Departnt of Mysteries.

In the whole Ministry, that’s probably the only place that would interest Voldemort.

Thinking of this, Kael suddenly felt nervous, because Diana was in the Departnt of Mysteries.

Luckily, they didn’t break in this ti.

Kael had lost his appetite, pushed the beef pie aside, then took out parchnt and a quill and wrote a letter to Diana.

By the ti he finished writing, Mrs. Weasley had just returned.

"Kael, are you sending a letter?" she asked, glancing at the envelope in Kael’s hand. "But I don’t think I saw your owl."

"I didn’t bring it with

this ti," Kael said.

"Well, that’s inconvenient..." Mrs. Weasley put a basket of Christmas ribbon decorations aside, "There are no owls here, so if you didn’t bring one either you’ll have to wait until the children are ho for the holidays.

But, if it’s urgent, I can go to the post office in Diagon Alley and mail it for you."

"It’s fine, Mrs. Weasley, I’m not in a rush," Kael said.

In fact, he never planned to send the letter by owl.

Ever since Voldemort ca back, Diana had received an ergency mission, and usually in these cases, it’s impossible for an owl to deliver a letter into the Departnt of Mysteries.

"That’s good," Mrs. Weasley nodded, and went to fetch more Christmas decorations.

After she left, Kael opened his trunk and jumped in, waking up Fawkes who was dozing off.

Even though Kael had tricked...uh, borrowed Fawkes on the pretense of keeping an eye on the Basilisk, ever since he got here, Fawkes spent most of his ti sleeping and couldn’t be bothered to so much as look at the Basilisk. He was absolutely a master at slacking off.

Then again, that was pretty normal—after all, whenever Kael went to the Headmaster’s Office before, Fawkes was always perched on his branch asleep. Nothing had really changed, except the location.

After being woken up, Fawkes poked his head out from under his wing.

"Sorry, but can you help

deliver this letter to the Departnt of Mysteries?" Kael asked, holding the letter out.

Then he pulled out a bunch of Cloak Grass, "Paynt. Here’s a snack for you."

Fawkes’s shiny eyes stared at Kael, and after a mont, he nodded.

But instead of eating the Cloak Grass, he turned his head and looked toward the forest, letting out a soft cry.

"You want Mandrake?" Kael didn’t hesitate and imdiately nodded his agreent. "No problem, when you co back I’ll pick the biggest pot for you."

This ti, Fawkes perked right up, flapped his wings and flew onto Kael’s shoulder, snatched the envelope from his hand.

"It’s best if you give it to my mom, nad Diana..." Kael continued, "If you can find her, I’ll give you two more Chomping Cabbages."

Fawkes rubbed Kael’s neck with his head, and vanished in a flash of fire.

"That’s so handy." Kael smacked his lips, feeling a bit envious inside.

Phoenixes are amazing—not only do their tears heal, but they can Apparate on their own. Whether it’s delivering letters, serving as a lookout, or making a quick escape, they’re incredibly useful.

Even more, in a critical mont they can block the Killing Curse for their master, thanks to their immortality. They’re truly the ultimate Fantastic Beast.

Now, looking at his own Fire Dragon...

Kael glanced at Norbert, who was busy scaring the Moonstruck Beast a little ways off, and gave a slightly disdainful pout.

So dumb—there really is no harm without comparison...

Norbert seed to sense sothing, let go of the Moonstruck Beast in his claws, lifted his head to look at Kael, and happily snorted.

Two tiny flas shot out, setting a Moonstruck Beast’s tail on fire.

Norbert was startled, quickly gulped down the poor Moonstruck Beast, and only spat it out after the flas were out.

"Alright then..." Kael smacked his lips.

Dumb as a rock, but otherwise he’s got no big issues—he’s all right.

Kael waited a bit longer; about five minutes later, Fawkes ca back, and even brought a brooch with him.

A Fire Dragon Scale Brooch, a souvenir they bought at the Romanian Fire Dragon Reserve last ti, and a gift from Chris to Diana.

"Did you really find her?" Kael blurted out.

But then he realized he was being silly—where else would this brooch have co from if Fawkes hadn’t found her?

So Kael imdiately kept his promise, picked the best pot of Mandrake for Fawkes, dug up two Chomping Cabbages, and put them with the earlier Cloak Grass in front of Fawkes.

"Eat up, and if it’s not enough, there’s more..." Kael stroked the feathers on Fawkes’s neck and then, a little reluctantly, climbed out of the trunk.

He’d like to stay a bit longer, but his trunk was still on a kitchen stool, and Mrs. Weasley could co back any ti—getting caught would be a real hassle.

So best to hurry up and get out.

...

Luckily, after Kael got out of the trunk, Mrs. Weasley was still outside busy putting up Christmas decorations.

After putting his trunk away, Kael left the kitchen and helped her hang mistletoe and holly on the walls and ceiling.

At noon, it was still just him and Mrs. Weasley here.

It wasn’t until five thirty in the afternoon that soone ca ho.

To Kael’s surprise, it was Bill and Charlie who returned.

"Mum... it’s ti to pick them up from the station. Do you know where the car keys are?" Bill called as soon as he stepped inside.
