Chapter 959

Alexander Foster arrived at the girls’ dormitory building and looked around, but he couldn’t see Chloe Collins anywhere.

He texted her and received no reply. He called her, it rang, but there was no answer.

The girls passing by kept glancing at him and whispered amongst themselves.

After a little while, the call went through.

"Hello, is this... Mr. Foster?"

That voice... it was Wanda Wesley’s.

"Where’s Chlo-Chlo?"

"I don’t know. She ca back just now, dropped off her stuff and left. Maybe she went to the sports field."

As Wanda spoke, she walked out to take a look.

She imdiately spotted Alexander Foster standing downstairs.

"Mr. Foster, would you like to look for her?"

"No need."

With that indifferent response, Alexander Foster hung up the phone.

Wanda looked at the screen, the character "Alex" that was displayed disappeared with the call interface.

She thought of Chloe’s expression when she ca back earlier. It seed calm on the surface, but underneath, it was turmoil, as if she had encountered sothing unpleasant.

Moreover, heading to the sports field at this ti probably ant that she wanted to clear her mind.

-

At this mont, the sports center to the west was sparsely populated.

Upon reaching the doorway, he didn’t hear any noisy chatter. The only sounds were those of sneakers rubbing against the ground of the sports field, and the rhythmic pattering noise, one after another.

Walking in, he saw a tall and thin figure holding a tennis racket, playing tennis against the wall.

With every stroke, the ball hit the target directly. Then, it bounced back rapidly and was swatted back by her again.

She repeated this cycle, without pause.

The girl’s slender arm continued to deliver powerful strokes. A thin layer of sweat covered her fair face, making her skin even more supple and radiant.

She seed to be oblivious to his closeness, still focusing on the oscillating ball.

Alex stood against the wall behind her, without interrupting her.

Half an hour passed like this, Chloe was drenched in sweat, panting heavily.

She discarded the racket, walked to the side, picked up a bottle of water, and prepared to unscrew it.

Just then, a pre-opened bottle of water was passed to her from the side.

She glanced at it indifferently and casually asked, "You still haven’t left?"

Her voice was very calm, without a trace of emotion.

But she didn’t actually look at his face.

Alex saw her unscrew her own water bottle and take a sip, ignoring his offer. He was now certain of his suspicion — she was angry.

Sulking.

"I’ll take you ho before I leave." He said.

Chloe Collins put down the water, picked up the racket, and swiftly turned around. "No need."

After taking a deep breath, she swung the racket once again.

The force she used this ti was much stronger than before, and the sound it produced was different.

Five minutes later, the tennis ball suddenly punctured the wall net and got stuck in it.

Chloe, slightly panting, looked over.

Just then, there was a round of applause from the side.

"Wow, you’re so good, Chloe Collins."

Three male students carrying basketballs walked over. They had just arrived and saw Chloe playing solo with a silent, handso man standing beside her, a flicker of worry in his eyes creating an odd tension between them.

So, they paused to watch for a while. Just that short glance was enough for them to be impressed by Chloe’s tennis skills, hence the applause.

"There’s no fun in playing alone. Want to play a round with ?" One of the boys suggested.

Chloe didn’t mind; she tossed another racket at him.

The boys laughed, "If you lose, you have to treat us to a al. If I lose, I’ll treat you. Does that sound good?"

Chloe patted the ball on the floor, leaning slightly with her gaze as fierce and ruthless as that of a hunting tiger: "Cut the crap. Let’s get started."
