Chapter 1563

She simply pulled up the covers and tried to sleep.

About five minutes later, she angrily threw off the covers, muttering to herself as she changed clothes.

Within ten minutes, she had gotten herself ready, grabbing only her car keys and phone before heading out the door.

The rain was heavy, a vast white expanse, too much for the windshield wipers to handle.

After driving for a while, she arrived at Central Plaza, instinctively looking over to the main gate of the Departnt Store, as it was the most prominent and many people were sheltering from the rain there.

That’s when she saw a man standing in the rain that startled her.

He was not standing in the rain but under the rain curtain at the doorway of a shop close to the entrance, which could be seen at a glance.

However, the rain curtain leaked, so she thought he was standing in the rain.

At a glance, the man’s hair and clothes were soaked; she wasn’t sure if he had done this on purpose.

In his hand, he was holding a bouquet of flowers, which were, surprisingly, not wet.

A strange feeling suddenly washed over her, causing a brief mont of distraction.

She had an umbrella in the car, she grabbed it and got out of the car and walked towards him.

As the man saw her approaching, a hint of a smile surfaced in his rain-soaked eyes.

She held her umbrella over him, her gaze unconsciously dropping to the flowers in his arms.

Not a single one was wet.

"Are you trying to play the pity card?"

The man did not respond, but the corner of his mouth curled up before he suddenly bent down and imprinted a kiss on her lips.

Startled, she blushed deeply.

"Whether it’s a pity card or not, you ca, and you’re worried, aren’t you?"

Seeing his smug look, Layla Lowell was so annoyed.

"Get lost, who cares about you?"

He nodded, "Alright, let’s just say I misread the situation. Miss Lowell, can you please grant a small request?"

"What?" She looked at him warily.

He pointed at his drenched collar, "My clothes are soaked. Will you accompany to buy new ones?"

"No!" She turned away.

The man coaxed, "Will you join for a al, then?"

"No!"

"Really won’t go?"

"Won’t go!" She stubbornly looked away, diverting her gaze elsewhere.

"You’re really not going."

"I said I’m not going!"

"Then are you going ho?"

"I’m not!"

As she blurted her response, she turned to see the laughter in his eyes.

"If you’re not going ho, then accompany to look around. I’ll buy sothing nice for you, too."

He took her hand and walked into the mall.

Layla Lowell followed him halfheartedly.

He placed the flowers he was holding into her arms, attracting quite a lot of attention along the way.

"Hey, let’s try this one!" She quickly pulled him into a clothing store, not wanting to feel other people’s stares anymore.

Charles Carrington listened to her and nodded, then walked into the store.

"I’ll go to the dressing room to get changed. I’m uncomfortable in these wet clothes, can you pick out a few for ?"

Perhaps it was the sincerity in his eyes that caught Layla Lowell off guard and she nodded, "Just this once."

He smiled.

Watching him disappear into the changing room, she planned to randomly choose sothing for him.

But as she was really about to make a selection, she couldn’t help but take it seriously.

The sales assistant recomnded several styles, all of which she rejected.

She thought to herself if he wore those clothes, he would look more like a playboy.

In the end, she chose a relatively simple and clean design that she liked and sent it into the dressing room for him.

The man changed very quickly and was soon standing outside again.

"Wow, your boyfriend looks really good in this." The sales assistant imdiately flattered.

Layla Lowell frowned.
