Chapter 1229

In the darkness, Chloe Collins felt a surge of murderous intent piercing through the barriers, directly attacking Alexander Foster who was next to her.

Alex had already sensed the attack and agilely dodged the incoming assault.

She stepped back, switched on the light from her ring, and instantly saw the scene before her. A middle-aged man with a bun in his hair was holding a long stick, using Shaolin kung fu to exchange blows with Alex.

Alex did not attack him, instead, he kept retreating, skillfully evading all his attacks.

Chloe had seen photos of Jerry River before. The man in front of her, with an ancient n’s hairstyle, was him.

Her people had tried to find him before but failed. It turned out he was hiding in the Continent of Stortia.

His martial arts skills were not top-notch, but he was skilled at finding opportunities.

Realizing that Alex had no intention of fighting him, he quickened his pace. From top to bottom, left to right, he launched relentless attacks on Alex, leaving no room for his defense.

Alex remained calm, avoiding the stick, while saying slowly and quietly, "If Mr. Bush wants to spar, we can schedule a different ti for that. You know why I’m here tonight. Let’s focus on the important matter at hand."

As soon as the words fell, Alex deftly caught Jerry’s stick, his body upright, his posture dignified and imposing.

"That’s exactly the important matter I want to discuss with you!"

Jerry angrily furrowed his brows, grasping the stick tightly, his mouth pressed hard downwards. He squatted halfway, his hands as tense as his face. He tried to snatch the stick back from Alex’s grip.

But the stick did not budge in Alex’s hand. As ti passed, it beca more and more embarrassing for Jerry.

At that mont, Alex suddenly loosened his grip.

Jerry’s force could not be stopped in ti. He staggered back several steps, fell heavily onto the ground, and his aura was once again dampened by a third!

With a harsh look in his eyes, he suddenly let go of the stick. In an instant, three flying darts flew out from his sleeve, all heading towards Chloe!

Alex subconsciously stepped in front to shield her, Jerry took this opportunity to launch a surprise attack, the smirk on his face suggesting his triumph.

The next second, Jerry felt a shadow moving in front of his eyes. In a short mont, he had managed to get up only to be knocked down again, his buttocks hitting the cold ground, causing a surge of dull pain!

When he finally regained his strength, he opened his eyes to see that the three flying darts had been intercepted by Alex, caught neatly between his fingers. They had not been hard at all!

And the girl who was originally standing by the wall was now three ters away, it had been her kick that had knocked him down!

Three ters, one second!

Jerry was astounded, disbelief gleaming in his eyes, focusing on the girl’s face.

Alex reached out to him, saying, "My apologies."

Jerry grunted coldly, shrugged off his hand, quickly got up, dusted himself off, and gave Chloe a sidelong glance, deep in thought.

His eyes moved back and forth between the two, seemingly plotting sothing.

"Follow inside!"

The lights around them suddenly ca back on, returning to normal.

Jerry left them with his back view, striding into the main hall.

Chloe and Alex exchanged a glance, speechless, they walked in.

Upon entering the antechamber, the first thing that caught their eye was the painting hanging on the wall.

At first, Chloe gave it a glance, then she frowned, and upon closer inspection, she understood.

Soon, she shifted her gaze away from the painting.

Jerry noticed her expression, a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as he sat down in the main seat, ordering servants to serve tea.

"Mr. Foster pays a late-night visit, what brings you here?"

He purposely played dumb, his small eyes looking at Alex mysteriously, seemingly resentful.
