Chapter 1228
She was about to go get the dicine, but her hand was caught by soone.
Turning around, Dean Collins had already looked up at her, his gaze soft and loving. "I’ll have Bail deliver it to him."
Bail was his little companion, an Artificial Intelligence.
Soon, a plump little white creature about half a ter high rolled into the room. It had three antenna on top of its head, wobbling around adorably.
Even though Dean was usually silent, he’d programd it to be quite talkative, always humming when making its appearance.
Chloe Collins put the food on the tray. As Bail was about to leave, suddenly, the tray was carrying an additional item – an electric toy dove.
The dove was sothing Dean had made himself. Not only could it fly, but it could also be used as a smart device. The dove’s head contained a chanism. Twist it, and the entire body could automatically transform into a smart device. It could also morph into a wristwatch, resembling a transforr changing its shape at will.
Chloe had one of these items too.
Seeing Dean’s action, she smiled.
Alexander Foster had been approved by him.
He rarely t with strangers because they made him anxious, but he had his ways of expressing friendliness.
Bail soon left.
Two items were delivered to Alexander Foster. The pasta was still quite hot.
He picked up the dove and read the ssage displayed on the little screen under its belly: "If you hurt her, you’re a dead man."
Looking at the threatening words, he revealed a faint smile.
Little girl, she has quite a lot of close friends.
It’s a good thing.
He accepted the threat and left a note before he departed.
Night had fallen, and the two had left quite a while ago.
Dean Collins ca out of the room, ca to the living room, and saw the note.
[Don’t worry.]
The note was weighed down by a wristwatch, like a gift in return.
Dean picked up the watch and studied it for a long ti.

In the car, the driver was concentrating on driving towards the city.
In the back seat, Alexander Foster quietly watched as Chloe demonstrated how to play with the Peace Dove, a smile in his eyes.
First it transford into a phone, then a wristwatch, and then it turned back into a dove.
Suddenly, she beca chatty, using all sorts of words to explain this little piece of technology to him.
Alexander Foster suddenly leaned close to her eyes, his gaze indulgent, yet he said, "When you speak of him, your eyes are full of tenderness."
"Of course, he’s my precious family mber."
Her beautiful eyes bead with a smile, "He’s very smart, he’s already completed all his courses at ho, several of his inventions have been patented. This company I have, he oversees but doesn’t need to be present. My ring and hearing aid are his creations, he..."
Shadows pressed down, covering her face.
The man silenced her rambling words with a kiss, shutting up those words that were clawing at his heart.

The journey was long, and they arrived at the Bushes’ main gate only at nine o’clock.
As Chloe was getting out of the car, she pursed her slightly swollen lips, her cheeks still warm.
"This is the place." She glanced at the plaque on the gate with the gilded words "Bush Manor".
The entire courtyard was filled with a retro vibe, giving one the illusion of stepping into an ancient movie set.
Alexander Foster rang the doorbell, but no one responded.
Chloe said, "He’s at ho, I can hear him."
Alexander Foster understood, "It seems they intend to make things difficult for us."
Just as the words left his mouth, the door in front of them suddenly swung open.
"Please, co in."
As Alexander Foster led Chloe inside, their every step was t with silence.
Passing beyond the screen wall behind the door, both of them entered the front courtyard. As soon as they stepped in, all the lights around them suddenly went out, plunging their surroundings into darkness!
