Athena’s mood changed after seeing Dominique and Sasha together. She was annoyed by their presence. However, she had to pretend she was just fine and didn’t feel anything about them.
She let herself be accompanied by Ashton to divert her attention. He brought her to his car.
"Wait here, Athena. I’ll just pick up sothing inside my car."
Athena just stood there, watching Ashton as he opened his car. A few seconds later, Ashton was already holding a bouquet of red roses.
"This is for you," Ashton softly said, handing the bouquet over to her.
Athena blinked in amusent. She had to admit that Ashton was so sweet and romantic. However, he was the sa guy who just watched on the sideline while Dominique was scheming against her.
So Ashton was not exempted from her hatred. That’s why she didn’t feel any guilt for using him as part of her revenge.
"Thank you, Mr. Davis. I love red roses. They are so beautiful!" Athena accepted the bouquet and even slled the flower.
"Yes. So beautiful like you," Ashton blurted out with admiration.
Athena emitted a soft giggle at Ashton’s complint. "I’m so flattered. You consider beautiful even though you haven’t seen my real face yet."
Ashton chuckled and remarked, "Hmm. I would appreciate it if you would do a face reveal."
"Alright. I’ll make you special. You will be celebrating your birthday, right? How about showing you my real face as your birthday gift?"
Ashton’s eyes sparkled in delight when he heard that. "Really? Will you do that for ?" he asked her with anticipation.
Athena smiled and nodded in response. "Yes. But you have to keep it a secret from my other fans. I don’t want them to get jealous of you."
"Yes, I promise!" Ashton quickly raised his pinky finger in front of her as a sign of his promise.
"I’m going to invite you to my birthday party!" He exclaid enthusiastically.
"Sure. But don’t tell others that I’m Athena, the masked singer."
"Of course. I won’t!" he reassured him.
The two burst out laughing. However, their laughter was cut short when they saw Dominique. He seed like he wasn’t in a good mood. He was walking toward his car which was parked beside Ashton’s car.
"Sigh. I think they haven’t reconciled yet," Ashton mumbled as he took a deep sigh. His gaze was fixed on Dominique.
Athena’s curiosity was piqued by his words. "Huh? Mr. Smith is leaving. Did he argue with his wife?" she asked Ashton while putting on an innocent look.
"Yes, they did. Oops!" Ashton covered his mouth as he realized his mistake. He shouldn’t have told Athena about it.
Athena just giggled. "It’s alright. I won’t tell anyone. Besides, it’s natural for a married couple to have so argunts."
Ashton could only bob his head. "So true. I just hope they can fix their issue soon."
Ashton stopped talking about them when Dominique reached their spot.
"Bro, are you leaving already?" Ashton talked to him first.
Dominique didn’t respond right away. He just darted his gaze back and forth between Athena and Ashton. Then his eyes fell on the bouquet of roses Athena was holding. He could tell that the bouquet was given by Ashton.
"I don’t have reason to stay here longer," Dominique responded coldly, shifting his gaze from the bouquet to Athena’s face.
"Sasha’s team has prepared lunch for everyone. Why don’t you stay for a while and join us?" Ashton invited his best friend to join them.
"Furthermore, Athena and others will do aerial scenes for the video shoot later. Don’t you want to watch them in action?" he continued convincing Dominique.
But Dominique just stared at Athena as if his eyes were asking her opinion. ’Would you like to stay or not?’
Flashing her charming smile, Athena finally spoke up. "Mr. Smith, please join us. It’s fun to share a al with everyone. Furthermore, I wish you to witness everyone’s effort for this product launch."
"Okay. I’ll stay." Dominique promptly responded. He didn’t think twice when Athena invited him to join them. He was waiting for her to say that.
’So fast. He agreed just like that. I thought he was so determined to leave since he didn’t respond to Ashton’s invitation.’ Athena was surprised.
"It’s settled then. Now, let’s go back! They might be looking for Athena already." Ashton wrapped his arm around Dominique’s shoulder as he guided him back to the set. Athena was walking side by side with them.
When the three of them returned, Sasha was surprised to see Dominique. He walked away from her earlier. But now, he ca back with Ashton.
’I think Ashton convinced him to stay longer,’ Sasha thought inwardly. She was grateful to him. In the past, Ashton had always supported her. And she knew that he was doing this for her.
Ashton was the first person she confided to about her feelings for Dominique.
’That’s right. I must seek Ashton’s help. I’m gonna need him to achieve my goal. I must get pregnant with Dominique’s child, no matter what!’
"Director Smith," Athena cheerfully approached Sasha while Ashton introduced Dominique to the other endorsers. "Your friend is so romantic," she whispered in her ear. Then she showed her the bouquet of red roses.
Sasha tried to lift up her mood, pretending that nothing was wrong between Dominique and her.
"Yeah. Ashton is always like that. A very sweet person." Sasha praised her friend in front of Athena. "Do you really like him?"
Athena bobbed her head. "Yes. I do like him. Unlike so conceited guys I know, Ashton is different from them. That’s why I am comfortable with him." Athena continued making Sasha believe that she was only interested in him.
Sasha, on the other hand, felt so glad because Athena could appreciate Ashton’s good qualities.
"I bet he will be the happiest guy if he hears your words." Sasha patted her shoulder.
"Hmm. And you are the luckiest woman for having a supportive husband like Mr. Smith. See, he ca all the way here to support your project. So sweet." Athena began teasing Sasha.
However, no matter how hard Sasha tried, Athena still noticed the sullen look in her eyes at the ntion of Dominique.
’Hmm. So Ashton is right. The couple had an argunt.’ Athena smiled inwardly, rejoicing. ’I must test the couple later.’ She made a ntal note of her plan.
It did not take long before Bella called them both. Lunch had already been served at the long tables. Everyone took their respective seats and began enjoying their als.
After an hour, the team went back to their respective stations. The director of the video shoot instructed his team to prepare the set, including the props and materials.
The four endorsers did their rehearsal of their lines for one last ti before they started the video shoot. The first scene was between the two male celebrity endorsers.
After half an hour, they finally finished shooting the sword fight between the two male endorsers. The next scene would be an aerial scene between Athena and Lina.
Anticipation filled the air as everyone awaited the upcoming scene. The staff diligently set up safety asures, placing thick foams on the floor to cushion any potential falls. anwhile, other mbers of the team assisted Athena and Lina in donning their harnesses, ensuring they were securely fastened and ready for the shoot.
Athena was clueless about the impending danger she would face.
"Is this safe?" Dominique asked with a deep frown on his face. He was standing next to Ashton.
"Of course. See... they have harnesses and the foam on the floor. They are safe." Ashton reassured his best friend. But Dominique couldn’t stop worrying about Athena.
"Okay, Team! Get ready! On my cue!" The director alerted everyone.
Lina and Athena went to their respective positions. Soon, they started to ascend as if they were flying in mid-air.
"Light. Cara. Action!" The director shouted.
Athena and Lina, wearing their beautiful costus, acted according to the script and choreographed movents. The staff mbers were pulling their harnesses for more smooth movents and dramatic effects.
Cara rolling, everyone was on the edge. They were amazed by the two ladies fighting mid-air. They were using mystery jewels as the source of their magical powers.
The staff released a white smoke as part of the effects. However, in the midst of the mist and lighting effects, a tragedy struck in a split second.
Athena’s harness suddenly snapped, sending her swirling towards the ground below. And the worst case was that Athena was about to fall in the opposite direction of the foams. She would certainly hit the hard floor!
Ti seed to slow as gasps of horror filled the set, the crew frozen in disbelief.
"Athena!" Lanny scread as she witnessed the shocking scene.
But in the middle of that chaotic scene, Dominique sprang into action. With lightning-fast reflexes, he darted forward, reaching out to intercept Athena mid-fall.
Fortunately, Dominique caught Athena in his arms. However, the impact was so strong that he ended up stumbling back to the ground while protecting Athena in his arms.
Everything happened so fast. Only Dominique was able to react at that mont.
"Dom!" Sasha called his na out.
"Mr. Smith!"
Thud!
The crew winced as the sound of Dominique’s body hitting the ground echoed through the set, accompanied by the cracking sound of a bone.
Dominique’s agonized groan filled the air as his elbow collided with the hard surface, sending waves of pain coursing through him.
"Argh."
The crew imdiately rushed to them while the other called the standby dics.
