Vladimir dismissed Luna while Athena and Lanny stayed inside his office. The three of them settled down on the couch, facing each other. They still needed to clarify things.
"I owe you an explanation, Athena and Lanny." Vladimir acknowledged his mistake.
Athena just nodded her head, staring at him intently. While Lanny put on a smug smile as if she was telling him– ’I told you so but you didn’t listen to .’
"The reason I decided to eliminate Dominique is to protect the three of you." Vladimir started.
Both Athena and Lanny frowned as they gave him a questioning look.
"What do you an? Protect us? Why?" Lanny asked him curiously.
"I discovered the truth. Aaron is not your son. He is Athena’s son. That’s why his DNA matched Dominique’s DNA. I don’t want my father to know the truth. But he is one step ahead of us. Fortunately, he assud that Dominique was also Kimmy’s father."
"Technically, you deceived him, Lanny. And you know our father. He hates being fooled and deceived by people. He will certainly punish you and Athena."
Lanny and Athena fell silent. They believed Vladimir’s words. They knew Miguel Ivankov’s attitude and temperant. He won’t be rciful even to his children.
"How did you know that Aaron is my son?" Athena asked him earnestly.
"I connected the dots. Just like what my father said, Aaron has an uncanny resemblance with Dominique. And he doesn’t look like Enzo," Vladimir replied.
"Since my father learned half of the truth. We need to be careful. You have to keep Aaron’s identity a secret," he reminded them.
Lanny exhaled deeply. "We are in a big trouble. Now, my father will try to help Dominique get close to Aaron and Kimmy. What are we going to do now? He will know the truth that Aaron is his son. But I never slept with him!" She lanted exasperatedly.
"Damn! My father thought I had an affair with Dominique in the past!" Lanny covered her face using both hands. She didn’t know how they would fix this matter.
The office was engulfed with deafening silence. Athena and Vladimir were also having a hard ti finding a solution for this.
"We need to convince my father. I can’t introduce Kimmy and Aaron as Dominique’s children! Things will beco more complicated." Lanny rubbed her temples.
"See. Eliminating Dominique is the easiest way to solve this." Vladimir murmured.
Lanny shot her brother a cold sharp glare, reminding him to watch his words. Athena was there, listening to him.
"No. I didn’t wish to kill Dominique. Don’t harm him, V," Athena pleaded.
"Of course. We can’t touch Dominique, especially now, he has our father’s protection. He warned us personally. I don’t think he is bluffing. He was hell-bent on protecting that jerk! This is sothing I can’t understand."
Vladimir narrowed his eyes, trying to figure out the connection between Miguel and Dominique.
"For now, we have to play along with Miguel. We can’t afford to offend your father. I don’t want him to hate Aaron." Athena’s concern was focused on Aaron.
Both Lanny and Vladimir nodded in agreent.
"By the way, do you have any ideas who wants to kill Dominique?" Lanny asked Athena. Since the car accident was not part of Luna’s plan, then there was another culprit behind this accident.
"Don’t ask her," Vladimir interjected even before Athena could reply. "The police will be investigating this case. But since my father gave Luna a command, she will do her best to catch the driver."
They were still talking when Lanny received a call from Enzo. She excused herself first to answer the phone.
When Lanny stepped out of the office, Athena and Vladimir got a chance to be alone. Vladimir rose from his seat and moved to the other couch where Athena was sitting.
Vladimir held her hand as he kneeled in front of her. Athena gasped in surprise.
"Hey, V. What are you doing? Stand up." She tried to pull him up but Vladimir remained still as he shook his head.
"I want to apologize, Athena. Please forgive for breaking my promise. Please don’t get mad at anymore." Vladimir gently squeezed her hand, his eyes staring at her intently.
Athena observed Vladimir for a long mont, analyzing her feelings. Deep inside, she was upset with him because of what he did behind her back. But she couldn’t bla him after hearing his reason. He just wanted to protect their secrets.
"I’ll forgive you... but please don’t do this again. V... I don’t want you to kill soone for . Don’t spill blood. I have my own way of revenge. I hope you will respect that."
Vladimir sighed deeply, acknowledging his wrongdoing. "I will keep that in mind. I won’t do it again."
Athena smiled at him faintly. "Alright. So stop doing that. Co and sit beside ."
When Vladimir saw her smile, a heavy burden had been lifted off his chest. He was glad that Athena had forgiven him.
"So what do you plan to do? My father will insist on introducing Aaron to Dominique as his biological son. We can only buy so ti because Dominique got into an accident. He will stay in the hospital to recuperate." Vladimir questioned her.
"I don’t know what I should do... I hope Lanny can convince your father. I don’t want Dominique to find out that Aaron is his son. He might also realize that I am still alive."
"Don’t worry. I will protect you from Dominique." Vladimir reassured her.
Athena just nodded. But in the back of her mind, she thought, ’I can only speed up my revenge. I think I have already made a big progress in stirring a conflict between the married couple. Dominique learned what happened between Ashton and Sasha. It’s only a matter of ti before their marriage will be broken.’

anwhile, at the hospital...
Dominique was still unconscious. He was already transferred to his private ward. While Sasha was watching over him, lissa went to see her doctor friend. She personally visited his office.
"l, what a pleasant surprise! What brings you here?" Dr. Carl welcod her with a hug.
"Hey, Carl. My classmate! I’m here to ask a favor from you." lissa put on her pleading look.
Carl blinked in amusent, wondering what kind of favor she would ask him.
"Okay. Tell . What is it?" Carl gestured for her to sit down.
lissa smiled at him. "Dominique Smith is admitted here because of a car accident. But he is no longer in danger. What I’m about to ask you is to help my friend, Sasha. His wife."
Carl bobbed his head. "Okay. What kind of help?"
"Before the accident, the two agreed to do artificial insemination. They were scheduled to do it next week. But since Dominique is here, can you do the sperm extraction for the married couple? This is confidential so I can only rely on you. Can you do it?"
Dr. Carl fell silent for a mont. He was surprised by this sudden request by lissa.
"Don’t worry. The married couple has their written consent to do this. Don’t you trust ?" lissa tried to convince Dr. Carl to cooperate with her by using fake written consent.
"Okay. As long as the couple signed a waiver for this, I can do the extraction."
"Great! Thank you so much, Classmate!"
