[ At Goddess Elixir Cafe... ]
Lanny dropped by to visit Enzo. She had been troubled by her latest discovery regarding Alice. She knew that Enzo would be the one getting affected if the truth was revealed.
As usual, Enzo was busy serving the custors of the cafe when Lanny arrived.
"Enzo, Ma’am Lanny is here. Go and greet her." Enzo’s colleague inford Enzo. He gestured toward the door where Lanny was standing.
Enzo smiled as soon as he t Lanny’s gaze. They hadn’t seen each other yet after that awkward incident happened in the restaurant.
Without further ado, Enzo strode toward her.
"Lanny, how are you? Are you alone? Where’s Dmitri?" He bombarded her with questions.
"Dmitri is at ho. I will buy so pastries for him," she replied.
Enzo nodded, lowering his gaze. He tried to conceal his jealousy.
"Are you free, Enzo? Can we talk?" Lanny didn’t waste her ti as she asked him directly.
Enzo was taken aback for a mont. Lanny looked very serious.
"Is there sothing wrong, Lanny?" Enzo glanced at her worriedly.
"Oh, It’s nothing. I just want to consult you about sothing."
"Okay. Let’s go to the second floor. There are no custors there at this hour."
After saying that, Enzo ushered Lanny to the second floor of the Cafe. The two of them settled down, Enzo sitting next to Lanny.
"How’s your mories? Have you started recalling things?" She asked him expectantly.
Enzo took a deep sigh. He was disheartened. "Sad to say... there is no improvent."
Lanny felt sorry for him. She knew it was hard for Enzo to lose his mories.
"Gael’s doctor friend has a suggestion. Do you want to undergo a hypnosis session? Let’s try this to recover your mory."
Enzo’s face brightened up when he heard that. "Will it help to regain my mory?"
"We can’t guarantee a hundred percent success... but we can try it. You have nothing to lose." Lanny encouraged him, holding his hand.
Enzo’s eyes reflexively looked down, staring at Lanny’s hand. He felt a sudden warmth inside his heart at her thoughtful gesture. He knew that Lanny just wanted to comfort him and reassured him.
"Thank you, Lanny." He also grabbed her hands, holding them tightly.
The two of them t each other’s gaze. It seed like there was a magnet pulling them closer. They felt a sudden urge to kiss each other.
Enzo’s eyes fell on Lanny’s kissable red lips. He had never forgotten the sweet taste of her lips. The mories of their passionate night still lingered in his mind.
anwhile, Lanny held her breath as she saw Enzo’s face inching closer and closer to her.
’What the– Is he going to kiss now?’ Her mind raced while her heart started beating so fast in her chest.
Their faces were just a few inches away from each other, their lips almost touching. But suddenly...
"Enzo–"
The voice of his colleague was heard from the back, interrupting Enzo and Lanny. The two imdiately moved away from each other, feeling embarrassed. Soone caught them in the act.
The staff, on the other hand, stood frozen on his spot with his mouth hung open. He didn’t know how to unseen what he had seen.
’Eh? Enzo and our Boss’ sister... Are they in a relationship? But Enzo brought his girlfriend a few days ago.’
"Hey, Yohan, what is it?" Enzo asked him, trying to hide his embarrassnt.
"Oh. It’s nothing. Just continue your talk with the Lady Boss." Yohan imdiately left, not wanting to disturb the two further.
He even restricted the custors from going to the second floor at this mont.
"Lanny, I’m–" Enzo didn’t know what to say. The magical mont had been broken. The atmosphere had beco awkward.
"Don’t bother to say anything or else, I’ll shut your mouth and kiss you," Lanny blurted out, making Enzo blush further.
"Cough! Cough!" He cleared his throat. "So where are we again? Oh right. When can I start the hypnosis session?" Enzo imdiately changed the topic.
"Are you free this Friday? I will accompany you to the doctor."
Enzo nodded frantically. "Yes. I’m free."
"That’s great. Let’s save that date. Don’t forget." Lanny chuckled.
"Yes. I won’t forget the date," Enzo replied.
"By the way, how are you and Alice?" Lanny finally talked about Alice. She had been dying to ask Enzo.
Enzo just smiled faintly. "We’re fine. Are you still worried about what happened during our dinner date? We already talked about it."
Lanny fell silent. Even though Enzo didn’t say it, she could tell that sothing was wrong.
"Why do you look so sad? Are you that eager to marry Alice?" Lanny couldn’t help but be straightforward.
Enzo was at a loss for words for a mont.
"I–" He hesitated. Then he couldn’t look straight into Lanny’s eyes.
"I’m not sad. I’m just confused... with my feelings and all." Enzo confided with her. He felt more comfortable talking to Lanny about this.
"Yes, of course. I want to settle down with her... I’ve made it as motivation for my new life... since my mories are gone. But..."
"But what?" Lanny listened to him attentively.
Enzo gazed at her intently. ’Lately, I found myself thinking about you.’
Enzo smiled and didn’t say it out loud. "I guess Alice is not yet ready to tie the knot. I can feel that she is still unwilling. There is also hesitation."
Lanny nodded since she had seen it during the dinner date. She started to doubt Alice’s real feelings for Enzo.
"I understand, Enzo." Lanny gently patted his back. "Don’t rush things. Just give her ti."
"By the way, there is sothing I want to ask. Do you think Alice and Dominique know each other?"
Enzo was a little bit surprised by her question. "Alice and Dominique? Hmm, I don’t think so. Why do you ask?"
Lanny pursed her lips. "Oh, nothing. I thought they might know each other."
She didn’t want to reveal anything to Enzo without evidence. She had to verify the information. She didn’t want to create doubt and distrust between the couple.
"What made you think they know each other?" Enzo probed.
"Ah. Forget about it. I’m just making assumptions. I tend to overthink once I’m hungry." Lanny smiled awkwardly, hoping Enzo would drop the topic already. "Shall we eat so snacks?"
