"And you must be Enzo’s fiancée?" Dmitri asked Alice.

Alice giggled, extending her right hand to shake Dmitri’s hand. "Enzo’s girlfriend, not yet a fiancée."

Then Alice avoided Enzo’s gaze. She was a bit sensitive when it ca to marriage topics.

anwhile, Lanny and Enzo were both quiet, just listening to Dmitri and Alice’s conversation. When they locked eyes, the two were reminded of the passionate night they shared in Lanny’s place.

It felt so awkward to be facing each other while their partners were happily conversing, unaware of the secrets they harbored.

As they stood there now, the mory of that night lingered between them. Each was battling with their own guilt and confusion, knowing that they had crossed a line that shouldn’t have been crossed.

What they did wasn’t a mistake. Despite the influence of alcohol, their intimate mont had been consensual. They were fully aware of their actions, their minds still rational enough to understand the gravity of what they were doing.

It wasn’t the alcohol that drove them together but an overwhelming, undeniable desire that neither of them could control. In that heated mont, they had succumbed to the magnetic pull between them, unable to resist the raw, burning attraction.

It was Lanny who looked away first, tugging Dmitri’s elbow as she whispered, "Let’s go inside."

Dmitri glanced at her with a doting smile as he nodded. "Okay, Honey. I bet you are already hungry." Dmitri started flirting with her once again. And he didn’t mind even if they were in front of Enzo and Alice.

anwhile, Enzo’s brows twitched, unable to bear the sweet interaction between Lanny and Dmitri. They looked like a matching couple tonight, both handso and pretty.

Enzo diverted his gaze away from the couple as he brought his attention back to Alice.

Lanny and Dmitri were about to walk past them when Alice suddenly spoke up. "Lanny, Dmitri, since the four of us are here, why don’t we eat together?! Let’s do this as a double date!"

Enzo and Lanny were both taken aback by Alice’s suggestion. As much as possible, they wanted to avoid each other tonight.

Little did they know, Alice deliberately suggested dining together because she was afraid that Enzo would suddenly propose to her tonight. That was sothing she wanted to avoid. She wasn’t ready to accept or reject Enzo’s marriage proposal. That was her real intention of inviting Dmitri and Lanny to join them.

"Oh, I’m fine with that,’ Dmitri responded. "But let ask my woman first."

Dmitri looked at Lanny. "Do you want to join them, Honey?"

Lanny frowned when three pairs of eyes were now staring at her, waiting for her response.

’Why am I being the one to decide here?’ Lanny lanted to herself.

"Please, Lanny! I want to chat with you. I only t Athena last ti. Athena and Enzo ntioned you nurous tis. It’s my chance to get to know you more," Alice pleaded.

With no choice left, Lanny could only agree with Alice’s request. "Alright. I don’t mind."

Alice’s eyes lit up with excitent. "That’s great! Now, let’s get inside!"

Out of the four, only Alice seed enthusiastic as they entered the restaurant. Dmitri, eager for so private ti with Lanny, restrained himself from showing any irritation, not wanting to appear rude in front of Alice and Enzo.

anwhile, Enzo felt overlooked, as Alice had made the decision without consulting him, leaving him feeling unimportant. Nevertheless, the four of them ended up sitting together at one table.

Dmitri maintained a neutral expression, masking his disappointnt as Alice eagerly scanned the nu. Lanny, however, felt a knot of unease in her stomach, her appetite vanishing. She glanced at Enzo and saw a reflection of her own discomfort in his eyes.

Enzo was unusually quiet tonight. Because of that, Lanny misinterpreted it as if he was annoyed sharing a table with them because he just wanted to be with Alice.

The atmosphere at the table was a mix of excitent and underlying tension. Alice chatted animatedly about the dishes. Dmitri started to regret it.

’Sigh. I shouldn’t have consulted Lanny. I should have rejected Alice’s suggestion right away.’

"By the way, where is Athena? How is she?" Alice started the conversation again. She recalled that she also had a secret mission of gathering more information related to Athena and Lanny.

"She is fine. Busy with work." Lanny plainly responded.

"Does she have a boyfriend?" Alice threw another question.

Lanny clenched her fists under the table, getting annoyed by Alice’s nosy questions.

"Alice, stop that. It’s a very personal question. You can ask Athena herself." Enzo finally intervened.

"Ah okay. Let’s change the topic then." Alice didn’t stop.

"You and Athena are from Country M, right? How did you end up staying here in Country Z, eting Enzo, and becoming friends?" Alice simply asked Lanny. But in reality, she was trying to gather relevant information from Lanny.

"Athena and I went here on vacation. I got in trouble at that ti. Enzo saved ." Lanny replied, not elaborating on her story.

"Oh. I should thank Enzo for saving my future wife," Dmitri butted in, smiling at Lanny teasingly.

Under the table, Lanny discreetly elbowed Dmitri, giving him a sharp warning look that clearly said, ’Shut up and behave!’

Without missing a beat, Dmitri simply caught her elbow and clasped her hand. Lanny tried to pull her hand back but Dmitri’s grip was firm yet gentle, not letting her go. His expression remained neutral, but there was a michievous glint in his eyes as he stared at Lanny.

The gesture didn’t go unnoticed by Enzo, who sat across from them, his eyes narrowing slightly at the subtle exchange. He was jealous! Definitely jealous! He had the urge to turn the table around and separate Lanny from Dmitri.

’Damn! What am I thinking? Why do I care if Dmitri is flirting with Lanny? He is her fiancée!’ Enzo reprimanded himself inwardly. His mood dampened further at that realization.

"Excuse . I have to go to the restroom." Enzo could no longer bear to watch the two so he stood up and left.

When Enzo reached the restroom, he imdiately clenched his chest. "Shit! What is wrong with ? Why am I acting like this?" He felt utterly confused. He should be focusing on Alice, yet his eyes had been fixated on Lanny ever since she arrived.
