Chapter 61- Friends Betrayal

Tyler's POV

The mont we turned around and saw Logan standing there, I felt an imdiate sense of irritation bubbling up inside .

Deep down, I wanted to reject his offer.

Because who knew what would happen this ti if I followed him?

The last ti we were together, unknown gunn showed up and started shooting. And guess what? That whole thing turned out to be a setup.

Now, imagine what they might have planned this ti around, just to play their twisted little gas.

Tsk.

"And what is your business with family issues?" Declan's voice cut through the tension. "Why don't you go and offer a ride to soone else? Or whatever it is you do with that car of yours."

His voice was laced with venom, but I didn't miss the way his body stiffened at Logan's presence.

Interesting.

If Declan was acting this way toward Logan, then that ant Logan showing up wasn't part of his plan.

Perfect.

I smirked at the realization.

"I know, Mr. Declan," Logan said smoothly, his voice annoyingly calm. "Excuse for the interruption, but I was talking to Tyler, not you."

Declan's jaw twitched, but Logan continued unfazed.

"Since Tyler really needs to get ho and my father already sent a driver, he can co with . No big deal."

"And who told you he wants to go with you, huh?" Declan snapped. "Why do you always find it hard to mind your business, Logan?"

"Mind your business. Tyler is not interested in following you. He wants to stay here with , and we'll be leaving together—maybe next month, or maybe later."

What?

I turned to Declan, barely holding back my anger. Where the hell did this old man get the audacity to decide for ?

Since when did we have this conversation?

"And when exactly did we both agree that I'd stay with you?" I asked, my voice laced with mockery. "Because, dear Declan, I don't rember ever having that discussion."

"The last thing I rember was telling you to drop off at my house because I was done staying here. And you told you weren't going to do that." I gestured at my luggage. "Or can't you see my traveling bags?"

Declan scoffed. "I wasn't talking to you, Tyler. I was talking to Logan."

I clenched my fists, biting back the urge to roll my eyes.

This man was impossible.

I took a deep breath before speaking again. "Declan, I'm warning you—if you don't want a fight today, then you better respect yourself." My voice was steady, but the warning was clear. "Since you don't want to take ho, then let Logan do what you don't have the balls to do."

With that, I turned to Logan. "When is the car getting here? My patience is already running thin."

Logan turned to , and the smirk on his face was so damn annoying that I almost burst into laughter.

The sight of him grinning like a devil was funny as hell, and I had to fight to keep a straight face.

Declan, on the other hand, was practically fuming.

Logan ignored him and said, "Three... two... one."

A sleek black car pulled up in front of the house.

"The car is here," Logan announced, flashing a smile.

I returned it, but inwardly, I reminded myself that Logan was just as much of a traitor as Declan.

The only difference?

Logan was at least useful to right now.

I could deal with my anger toward him later—after I got ho.

I picked up my bag and gestured for Logan to lead the way. Without hesitation, he started walking toward the door.

But before we could leave, Declan's cold voice rang out.

"You know, Logan, you should watch your back," he warned. "One wrong move, and you're dead."

Imdiately, I took the opportunity to throw my own warning back at him.

"You know, Declan, you should also watch your back," I said, my tone light but laced with hidden aning. "Because one more wrong move on Logan, and it's going to cost you everything—your life, your fa, your money. Everything."

Declan looked at in shock.

"You're seriously defending him?" he sneered. "You, my own son? And you don't even know that Logan has been working for this whole ti, feeding every update I need while pretending to be your friend."

I burst into laughter.

"And who told you I didn't already know that?" I asked, my voice dripping with amusent. "Is there sothing else you'd like to reveal, dear father?"

Silence.

"Guess not," I said, smirking. "Logan, let's go."

We turned and walked away, completely ignoring Declan's angry ramblings behind us.

No point wasting more ti on him.

The car was already waiting outside, and Logan pointed to it as we approached. Without hesitation, we got in.

The mont we were inside, the driver greeted Logan and started the engine.

Logan leaned forward. "Drop Tyler off first," he instructed.

The driver nodded and drove off.

The ride was silent.

So silent that I could hear my own breathing.

I didn't say a word to Logan, and he, for once, had the decency to keep his mouth shut.

Good.

I was enjoying the quiet.

After what felt like an eternity, Logan finally spoke.

"I didn't tell him about the burner phone," he said suddenly.

I turned my head sharply, eyeing the driver in the front seat. Was this guy working for Declan too?

Logan noticed my suspicion and imdiately reassured . "Relax. This part of the car is soundproof. He can't hear us unless I want him to."

I let out a breath and turned back to the window.

Not interested.

Logan repeated himself.

"I didn't tell him about the burner phone, Tyler. I didn't tell him anything."

I scoffed. "And what exactly do you expect to say to that?" I asked, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "Bravo? Thank you for not betraying for the tenth ti?"

I rolled my eyes. "No, thank you, Logan. You can tell him whatever you want. I really don't care."

Logan sighed. "Tyler, I know I ssed up. But please... find it in your heart to forgive ." His voice was low, almost pleading. "I even stopped working for him—because of you."

I stilled for a second.

Then I laughed.

He was trying to guilt-trip .

Pathetic.

"And I honestly don't care anymore, Logan," I said coldly. "You can do whatever you want."

I turned back to the window.

"For all I care, you can stop working for him and start working for the sa unknown gunn who shot at us."
