Chapter 224- Oh Shit

Naomi's POV

I imdiately clamped my hand over my mouth, my eyes going wide. Shit. My mouth had done it again. Why the hell can't I just shut up?

Logan's sharp gaze snapped to , and his voice was dangerously calm. "Repeat what you just said, Naomi."

I panicked. My hand shot out, pinching Tyler's arm, silently begging him to help . But did that useless excuse of a best friend co to my rescue?

No.

Instead, he casually lifted his hands like he was washing them clean of my ss. "You're on your own," his smug face practically scread. "You were the one who couldn't keep your mouth shut."

I shot him a glare. Wow. Wo So much for friendship. Tyler knew I was a talkative. He knew my mouth ran faster than my brain. So why wasn't he helping ?

I pinched him harder, but he still ignored .

I rolled my eyes and turned to Logan, only to freeze when I saw the look on his face. Oh. Ohhh. I fucked up.

I an, I already knew I fucked up the mont the words left my mouth, but now? Now I really felt it. The way Logan's expression darkened, the way his jaw clenched—I was so dead.

If I had just kept quiet, we could've left. But noooo, now I had two offenses to apologize for.

One, eavesdropping on Logan and his so-called boyfriend. Or should I say, ex-boyfriend?

And two, running my mouth when I should've shut the hell up.

I smacked my forehead, groaning internally. What the hell do I even say to get out of this? Logan heard loud and clear.

"I wasn't talking to you, sir—uh, Logan," I blurted, trying to save myself. "I was talking to Tyler."

The second I said it, I knew. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. That was not the move.

Logan scoffed, crossing his arms. "Wow. Extra wow, Naomi." He slow-clapped, his face unreadable. "Bravo. Really. Just... wow."

My stomach dropped.

"Wait a second," he continued, his voice dropping into sothing more lethal. "Who the fuck do you think I am? Do I look like a kid to you?*"

I swallowed. "Duh!" The word left my mouth before I could stop it. "Yes! You are a kid. Only a kid doesn't know when to leave a toxic relationship. Only a kid lets himself be treated like shit and still stays. So yeah, you are a kid, Logan."

The second I finished speaking, my brain caught up.

Ohhh fuck.

I just dug my grave.

Not even a single apology yet, and I already committed another offense.

I was so dood.

My mother always told my mouth was going to put in trouble one day. Well, here I was. Not in one trouble. Not even two. But three. Three whole damn problems. And the day isn't even over yet!

Who knows what other havoc my mouth would cause before sunset?

I slapped a hand over my lips, silently cursing myself. Just stop talking, Naomi. STOP TALKING.

I turned to Tyler, desperate for help. But when I saw his face—pure, unfiltered disbelief—I knew I was alone in this.

Who could bla him?

My mouth was like a running tap, refusing to close.

Logan took a step forward, voice cold. "Wow, Naomi. You really never learn, do you?"

I frantically nodded, pleading with my eyes. "Please, Logan. Don't punish . This mouth? It's just built this way! You should just accept as your little sister and let this go."

Logan's lips curled into sothing that wasn't a smile. "If you were my little sister? Oh, trust , Naomi. You would've changed by now. Because one lesson from would teach you exactly why running your mouth is a stupid decision."

Then, with a slow tilt of my head, i added, "So you can teach a lesson... but you can't learn one?"

And just like that, I knew I was done for.

Tyler's POV

•••••••••

I opened my mouth to say sothing, but nothing ca out. Does this girl ever learn?

Because honestly, I'm struggling to understand what the fuck Naomi's problem is.

Four. Four tis today she's managed to piss off Logan, and all before lunch. Her mouth is like one of those public taps donated by the governnt—always running, never shutting off.

And of all people to run her mouth around? Logan. The one guy who doesn't take bullshit. The mont I saw the anger flash across his face, I knew—oh, we're so screwed.

Naomi, of course, finally realized the sa thing... just a little too late.

Oh my god, what is actually wrong with this girl?

I didn't even know what to say or how to beg Logan at this point. Hey, Logan, please don't kill her, she doesn't have a filter? Because let's be honest, Naomi has done nothing to help herself here. She just keeps poking the damn bear.

Shit. This is bad. Really bad. Logan isn't going to let this go.

I swear, if he decides to sue, he better sue only Naomi because she's the reason we're even in this ss. If only she had listened when I told her we needed to leave, we'd both be chilling at ho right now, drama-free.

And to think—I actually considered leaving without her. If I had known this was how the day would go, I definitely would have ditched her. But nooo, I just had to stick around because the gossip was too damn good.

It was the juiciest fight I had ever witnessed, and when Naomi told we should leave, I was secretly relieved when she changed her mind. That was a fight worth watching, and I wasn't about to miss it.

Lucas was out here trying to play the pity card, recording the whole thing like so tragic love story, while Logan was looking at him like he wanted to throw him through a wall. Peak entertainnt.

So, in a way, I get why Naomi stayed. She did the right thing by not letting us leave. But—and this is a big but—she just couldn't shut up when we got caught. No, she had to keep running her mouth, making things worse every single second.

How dumb can she be?

I was still lost in my thoughts when I heard a loud slap.

I snapped back to reality, whipping my head around just in ti to see Naomi holding her mouth.

I blinked. "What the fuck just happened, Naomi?"

"I had to give myself a hard and painful slap so Sir Logan would see that I was truly sorry for what I did and said," she replied, rubbing her cheek, eyes darting toward Logan for approval.

I sighed, shaking my head. As if that's going to help.

The thing is, even if she slapped herself a hundred tis, her mouth wouldn't stop running. It's like she was born with the inability to shut up.

I turned to Logan, knowing I had to at least try to fix this. "Logan, listen, let's just forget this ever happened. We'll go ho, act like we saw nothing, and never speak of this again. Please, just let us go."

It was the only thing I could offer. Because let's be real—Naomi and I were both guilty. We had no defense.

Logan didn't respond. He just walked toward us, and instantly, I felt my stomach drop.

Oh fuck.

Naomi and I stood frozen as he got closer, the tension so thick I could barely breathe. Naomi, being her dramatic self, shut her eyes like this was the part where we got executed.

Funny how she always overreacts at the wrong ti, but when she's supposed to keep her mouth shut, she just keeps blabbing.

Logan stopped right in front of us, looking between Naomi and before turning slightly. "Follow ," he said, then walked off.

Naomi and I imdiately fell in line behind him. Saying no was not an option.

As we walked, Logan suddenly spoke again. "So, Naomi," he drawled, "since your mouth is always running, let's put it to good use. Tell ... what do you really think about Lucas and ?"

I swear, Naomi's face lit up like it was Christmas morning.

Oh no. Oh no no no.

I could already tell where this was going.

Naomi grinned. "Well, since you're asking..."

And just like that, she launched into full-on blabber mode.

"First of all, Lucas is a walking red flag. Like, Logan, be so for real—how did you not see that?" she started, waving her hands around. "I an, the way he always acted like the victim? Classic manipulator behavior. And don't even get started on the fake tears! That whole 'poor ' act was so rehearsed."

I glanced at Logan. His expression was unreadable. Not good.

"And honestly," Naomi continued, gaining montum, "you deserve so much better. Like, imagine dating soone who actually respects you instead of so dude who records fights to get sympathy online? Yikes. Big yikes.*"

She was on a roll now.

"You know, I really never understood why people feel the need to hide their true selves. Like, why pretend to be soone you're not when you could just own it?"

Logan raised an eyebrow. "And what exactly do you an by that?"

Naomi paused.

Then she took a deep breath and dropped the bomb.

"I an... I get it, Logan. I understand what you went through because... well... I'm not exactly straight either.*"

"Ooh shit!!."
