Chapter 101- A Reckless Mouth

Logan's POV

A slow smirk tugged at my lips.

Was this supposed to be a punishnt?

If it was, then Mr. Luis had no idea who he was dealing with.

History was my thing. Even if I wasn't paying attention, I could answer anything he threw at .

I leaned back in my seat, stretching my legs out lazily. "Go ahead," I said, my voice dripping with confidence. "Test ."

The classroom went silent.

So students were already whispering, probably expecting to embarrass myself.

Mr. Luis crossed his arms, studying for a mont before nodding. "Alright then. First question—Who led the Mongol Empire to its peak, and what was his most significant achievent?"

I didn't even blink.

"Genghis Khan," I answered smoothly. "He united the Mongol tribes and built the largest contiguous empire in history. His military tactics and psychological warfare made him unstoppable."

The whispers grew louder.

A few students turned to stare.

Mr. Luis's expression remained unreadable, but I caught the slight lift of his brow. He wasn't expecting that.

"Correct," he said, pacing a little. "Second question—What was the main reason behind the fall of the Roman Empire?"

I barely hesitated.

"There were a lot of factors, but the biggest ones were internal corruption, economic decline, military overspending, and the empire growing too large to control. Oh, and let's not forget the Germanic tribes invading."

Now, even the kids who never paid attention were watching .

So of them looked impressed. Others just looked shocked.

Mr. Luis exhaled, rubbing his chin. He was actually thinking.

Good.

"One last question," he finally said. "Which war is considered the deadliest in human history?"

I nearly rolled my eyes.

"World War II," I said smoothly. "Over seventy million people died. It changed the world forever."

Silence.

Pure, absolute silence.

Even the students who thought they were smarter than looked stunned.

Mr. Luis stared at for a long second before nodding slowly.

"Wow," he said, his voice softer than before. "I must confess, Logan... you did well."

I smirked, leaning back in my chair. "Thanks."

He turned back to the board and continued teaching.

And just like that, I zoned out again.

If he wanted to test again, I'd pass like it was nothing.

I wasn't worried.

Ti dragged on until I finally snapped back to reality and realized sothing—

The classroom was empty.

Mr Luis was gone.

The sound of the school speakers crackled, announcing the end of classes.

Finally.

I exhaled in relief. I had been waiting for this mont all day.

Grabbing my bag, I was just about to leave when—

"Logan!"

I turned, only to see Naomi running up to .

I raised an eyebrow.

"Oh wow, look at this." I smirked, shaking my head. "A rat running straight into a trap."

She slowed her steps, hesitating.

I tilted my head mockingly. "In this case, you're the rat, and I'm the trap."

Naomi swallowed, lowering her gaze. "I'm sorry, Logan."

I almost laughed.

Wasn't this the sa girl who had so much mouth when she was trash-talking to the dia?

Where was all that attitude now?

I took a step closer, towering over her.

Her hands clenched into fists at her sides.

I could see the way she struggled to keep her breathing steady.

She was nervous.

I leaned in slightly, voice dropping to a whisper. "Naomi, I was actually planning to let you go today."

She blinked up at , hopeful.

I smirked. "But then you ran up to . And that reminded ."

Her breath hitched.

I could almost hear the gears turning in her head, wondering what I was about to do.

I didn't want her to pass out from overthinking, so I decided to put her out of her misery.

"Your first punishnt is simple," I said casually. "Get an eight-in-one hardcover plain notebook and fill every single page with a handwritten apology."

Her eyes widened.

"I want I am sorry written on every page. In your handwriting. If I find a single letter that isn't yours, we start all over again."

Naomi's mouth fell open.

She looked like she wanted to argue, but she knew better.

"Sir Logan, please," she whispered. "This is too much... I won't be able to complete it. Please, sir, give another punishnt, and I promise I'll do it."

She looked like she wanted to cry.

I narrowed my eyes at Naomi, watching as she squird under my gaze.

"I really don't care, Naomi," I said, my voice cold and sharp. "It's either you do this, or we et in court."

Her eyes widened in pure panic.

"No, no, no, please don't say that," she stamred, shaking her head frantically. "It hasn't gotten to that."

I almost laughed.

So she was this scared of being sued? But she wasn't scared when she ran her mouth to five different bloggers, feeding them lies and spitting them out like they were nothing?

That was rich.

At least now she knew who she was dealing with.

"Leave my sight, Naomi." My tone was dismissive. "I'll think about it."

She exhaled in relief, clasping her hands together.

"Thank you so much, sir! I really appreciate it."

I rolled my eyes.

"Don't thank , Naomi," I said flatly. "I didn't say I was freeing you. I said I'd think about it. That doesn't an you won't write what I told you to write."

Her face fell slightly, but she quickly nodded, bowing her head in submission.

I sighed. Maybe I'd pity her a little.

"You'll write half of the book," I finally said, watching her reaction. "And soone else can help you with the rest."

Her head shot up instantly, eyes shining with hope.

"It doesn't have to be all in your handwriting," I added, "but most of it needs to be yours."

The relief on her face was almost comical.

Before I could react, Naomi let out a small squeal and—

Jumped on .

I froze.

What the hell?

She had the audacity to throw herself at , wrapping her arms around like we were best friends.

She should be grateful the classroom was nearly empty.

The few students left weren't even paying attention.

She should really be grateful for that.

Because if anyone had seen this—

She'd have a lot of explaining to do.

Like why she was all over while supposedly dating Tyler.

Or should I say fake dating him?

Not that I cared.

I clenched my jaw, resisting the urge to push her off.

"What the fuck is this supposed to an?" I snapped, my voice laced with irritation. "Get the fuck off ."

It was only then that she seed to realize what she had done.

She pulled back so fast, she nearly tripped over herself.

"S-Sorry," she muttered, bowing her head in embarrassnt.

I huffed. "You're so clumsy. It pisses off."

She kept bowing, again and again, like that would erase what just happened.

"Thank you so much, sir Logan!" she gushed. "I promise to make you proud."

I scoffed.

"You don't need to make proud, Naomi," I said coolly. "The only people you should be trying to make proud are your family."

Her smile faltered.

She quickly apologized again before turning around to leave.

"Naomi."

She stopped imdiately and turned back, her face unreadable.

I took a deep breath, shoving my hands into my pockets.

I needed to be sure.

Were she and Tyler really dating?

Tyler had already told they weren't.

And Naomi had confird it too.

But the way she said it... the fear in her voice...

I needed to hear it again.

A straight answer.

I looked her dead in the eye.

"I need a yes or no. No gas, no stalling."

Her brows furrowed slightly, but she nodded.

I continued.

"Are you really dating Tyler? Or is it just fake dating?"

For a mont, she just stared at .

Then—

She smirked.

A slow, knowing smirk.

"Why do you want to know?" she asked teasingly.

Her eyes sparkled with amusent.

"Do you like him?" She tilted her head. "Are you crushing on him, Logan?"

I stiffened.

She did not just—

I arched a brow.

It looked like little Miss Naomi had forgotten that this sa reckless mouth was what got her into trouble in the first place.

And now she was doing it again.

"It seems you want to increase your punishnt, Naomi."
