Chapter 177: Chapter 177: Second Brother Seems a Bit Fickle?
Lu Zhanxing was sitting opposite Qiao Yun.
He sized up Qiao Yun with a look devoid of any emotion.
It must be said, true to the Lu Family, even he was dazzled upon eting her in person.
Lu Zhanxing felt sowhat relieved that he had insisted on picking up Qiao Yun despite Xie Ying’s objections.
With his fa, going out was quite troubleso.
But considering Qiao Yun had just arrived in Hai City, he worried she might overthink if he didn’t co to pick her up, so he had still co.
He didn’t want Qiao Yun to think that her elder brother didn’t value her.
“Tired?” Lu Zhanxing initiated the conversation to break the icy atmosphere. He found Qiao Yun quieter than he had expected.
He wondered if it was due to the environnt in which she had grown up.
Qiao Yun faintly lifted her eyelids and replied to him, “Not tired.”
“Then are you hungry?”
Lu Zhanxing took out a cake that had been prepared early from the small fridge. He was not sure what Qiao Yun liked, but he thought it couldn’t be wrong to buy sweets for a young girl.
“It’s still a two-hour drive, you should eat sothing first.”
His attitude was natural, lacking any unfamiliarity of a first eting.
Qiao Yun’s cool gaze fell on the small cake. After thinking, she still accepted it and said softly, “Thank you.”
She discovered that Lu Zhanxing was very adept at managing the distance between people.
Not overly enthusiastic, nor making you feel alienated.
This way of interaction was most comfortable for Qiao Yun. To express friendliness, she passed the cake in front of Lu Zhanxing.
Lu Zhanxing paused, “Do you want to eat it?”
Qiao Yun nodded, “Together.”
Lu Zhanxing, from Qiao Yun’s actions, sensed that she was trying to bridge the gap between them and felt slightly flattered.
The corners of his mouth turned up slightly as he shook his head and said, “This is for you, I don’t like sweets.”
Qiao Yun uttered an “Oh”, retracted her hand, and took a small bite.
Watching Qiao Yun eat quietly and gracefully, Lu Zhanxing smiled slightly.
He found that although Qiao Yun didn’t readily express her emotions, her likes and dislikes were easy to understand.
Her thoughts were clean and simple.
Not as difficult to predict and deal with as his elder brother had said.
Their first eting went very smoothly under Lu Zhanxing’s deliberate care and friendliness.
On the way to the residence, Lu Zhanxing’s phone rang several tis.
Qiao Yun looked up at him several tis before asking, “Is there sothing you need to do? You can go ahead, I can be on my own.”
She truly was an understanding little sister.
“No worries, I have the whole day for you today,” he replied.
Lu Zhanxing slightly furrowed his brows and without even glancing, he hung up the phone.
Qiao Yun realized he wasn’t telling the truth, but it was sothing that didn’t concern her, so she didn’t ask further.
She then fell silent.
Qiao Yun’s sudden silence made Lu Zhanxing touch his nose.
Damn.
So much for upholding a strong and respectable brother image; his true nature had shown through so quickly.
He definitely didn’t want to scare his sister away.
So, Qiao Yun watched as Lu Zhanxing suddenly sat up straight, put on a serious face as though he was angry?
Qiao Yun: ???
It was really baffling.
It seed her elder brother was sowhat capricious?
Two hours later, they finally arrived at the place where they were staying.
The apartnt was rented by Lu Zhanxing in Hai City, right in the city center.
Xie Ying did not hurry to leave as he still had business to discuss with Lu Zhanxing, so he went up with them.
As they entered the room, before Lu Zhanxing had a chance to introduce the layout to Qiao Yun, he was interrupted by a ssage.
His expression suddenly turned extrely ugly. He took a deep breath and, forcing a smile, said to Qiao Yun, “Sister, have a look around by yourself for a bit, I need to make a call.”
Qiao Yun gave him a thoughtful glance before nodding.
