Following the root, I soon arrived at what seed to be the end.
This root was connected to the thing that I was looking for, which was why following it to the end brought to my target.
As for what this target was, it was a plant that was living under the ground.
This was different from all other plants that would need to have so kind of structure that was above the ground to take in energy from the sun to live. It seed that there wasn't a single part of this plant that was placed above the ground.
It even seed like this plant was trying to avoid the sun as much as possible.
Though I knew that this was just a defense chanism of this place.
It was just trying to avoid being detected, which was why it completely hid itself in the ground.
Though since it hid itself in the ground like this, it ant that there was a problem with its growth. It was a plant and it did need sunlight to form nutrients, so it had to use other ways to compensate for this.
But these other thods just weren't as effective as the plant growing normally.
That was why even though this plant had been here for several hundred years now, it had only grown this much. It was even recently that this plant had started to form its intelligence.
All of this was information that I had brought with from the ga in my past life.
In this life, I just knew that this thing was sothing that hid itself quite deep into the ground.
Once I reached the end of the root, I didn't confront the plant right away.
Instead, I sat on the side and pulled out a few things that I placed on the ground. These things that I brought out were items that were filled with nutrition for plants. These were special items that would be hard to find anywhere else, but they were given to by the demon race council as part of my reward.
If it wasn't for that, then it would have been hard to find these things.
Once I put these things down on the ground, I moved away from the plant and hid myself.
While hiding like this, I waited to see what the plant would do to the things that I left out there.
It didn't seem like the plant was about to do anything with the way that it ignored the things that I had left out there. But soon, it seed like the plant couldn't wait any longer as roots started coming out of the ground.
With the way that it acted, it was as if it could sll the delicious sll that was coming from those items.
These items were the sa as delicious food for humans.
It was no wonder that the strange plant would be tempted by it.
After all, this strange plant had only gained intelligence not that long ago, so ntally it was around the sa as a child.
Since it was the sa ntally as a child, could it be that I was basically luring a child in with food?
Was I luring this child in with candy?
I shook that thought out of my mind since it really was a strange thought to have. It definitely wasn't sothing that I wanted to compare to what I was doing now.
The roots that ca out of the ground seed like they were searching for sothing. It was as if they were afraid that this was so kind of trap, which this strange plant was right about.
But in the end, it wasn't as if this strange plant was able to wait that long.
This strange plant had the ntality of a child, so it really didn't have any patience at all.
Once it lost its patience, the roots wrapped around the items that I had left on the ground and it wanted to drag it back into the ground.
It was just that I had left a trap on those items and the mont that the roots wrapped around them, the trap was triggered.
The roots wanted to pull back under the ground, but it was as if there was sothing that stopped it from moving. It was sothing that ca from the items that I had left on the ground.
The mont that roots wrapped around them, there was this red light that appeared around these items. The light spread to the roots that wanted to grab these items and seed to anchor them in place.
One could see that the roots were trembling as if there was sothing pulling on them.
It seed like the strange plant wanted to use force to break free of the grasp of these items, but it wasn't that simple.
After all, this was an array that had been created with the magic knowledge of the humans and the demon energy of the demons. It could be said that it was the perfect combination of two races that would never actually get along.
With this array, the strange plant's roots just couldn't move at all.
It was as if they were stuck to the items that I had left on the ground like it had been superglued to them.
Normally a living plant like this would just think about abandoning its roots when it was caught like this since it could always grow more roots. But for this child, it was like its hand had been caught in the cookie jar.
It didn't think about how to take its hand out of the cookie jar, instead it was thinking about how to take the cookie out with its hand.
The strange plant really was greedy, but then again it was a demon as well.
After all, this was the descendant of one of the stranger demon kings.
It was a plant that had beco a demon and taken the title of demon king.
